Does your job require you to sit for a long periods of time?
Just two more hours of sitting at your desk at work or kicking back in front of the TV is linked to a higher risk of several types of cancer, according to a study published this week in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
Researchers looked at more than 40 previous cancer studies that involved more than 4 million people to measure how cancer and sitting are linked.
They found that those two extra hours of sedentary behavior was linked to an 8 percent increased risk of colon cancer, a 10 percent increased risk of endometrial cancer and a 6 percent increased risk for lung cancer.
