Is the clock about to strike midnight for the United States of America? What I am about to share with you is definitely very strange. If you are convinced that anything unusual that happens in our world “is just a coincidence”, that belief may be challenged by this article. Because we are about to witness an event that is extremely improbable mathematically. The very last full moon of this entire decade will happen on December 12th at precisely 12:12 AM eastern time. There are 31 days in the month of December, there are 24 hours in a day (although we use the number 12 to designate two of those hours), and there are 60 minutes in an hour. So doing some quick math, I discovered that there is just a 1 in 691,920 chance that the last full moon of this decade would randomly fall on 12/12 at exactly 12:12 AM eastern time. Could it be possible that someone is trying to tell us something? This phenomenon is so weird that even ABC News is reporting on it…
If you have a thing for moon phases or numbers then mark your calendar for this upcoming celestial event.
On Dec. 12 (12/12) at 12:12 a.m. ET the Cold Moon will become a full moon, according to the Farmers’ Almanac.
It is interesting to note that this strange confluence of numbers will only happen in the eastern time zone of the United States and not anywhere else in the world.
What immediately came to my mind is the fact that this will happen just as the debate about the articles of impeachment is beginning in the U.S. House of Representatives. Is the drama that is currently unfolding in D.C. going to represent some sort of major turning point for President Trump or for the nation as a whole?
The other thing that immediately came to my mind is the fact that when “the clock strikes 12” that means that it is midnight.
And midnight is symbolic of time running out.
Could it be possible that time has run out for America? This is a theme that I explored in a recent article entitled “The Book Is About To Close On The Late Great United States Of America”. We have had opportunity after opportunity to change our direction as a nation, but we have steadfastly refused to do so. At some point there aren’t going to be any more chances, and that day may come a lot sooner than most people would dare to imagine.
Of course whenever something strange happens regarding the moon, many people immediately turn to the Bible, because the Bible has an enormous amount to say about the moon. In fact, Jesus specifically warned us to watch for “signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars“, and the first chapter of the Book of Genesis tells us that one of the reasons why the sun and moon were created in the first place was so that they could serve as “signs”.
So could this unusual full moon be some sort of a sign?
I don’t know, but without a doubt the number 12 is one of the most important numbers in the entire Bible…
The number 12 is a symbol of faith, the church and divine rule.
The number 12 features prominently in the Bible. The Old Testament Book of Genesis states there were 12 sons of Jacob and those 12 sons formed the 12 tribes of Israel. The New Testament tells us that Jesus had 12 apostles. According to the Book of Revelation, the kingdom of God has 12 gates guarded by 12 angels.
It is interesting to note that the Book of Revelation alone has 22 occurrences of the number 12.
And there are are also exactly 22 chapters in the Book of Revelation.
The deeper that one digs into these things, the stranger they get.
In the Bible, the number 12 often represents fullness, completeness or maturity. And in the Gospel of Luke we find that Jesus made his very first public appearance at the Temple at the age of 12…
Jesus first spoke in the temple with religious leaders at the age of 12 when he and his family had traveled to Jerusalem for Passover (Luke 2:41-52). The religious leaders marveled at his wisdom.
I don’t think that we can be dogmatic about what this very strange full moon could mean, and it may not be until much later that things become clearer.
And of course it may not mean anything at all.
But when I learned about this, it definitely got my attention.
There is one more thing that I wanted to mention about this. For years, my wife and I have been noticing that people have been reporting seeing “11:11” all over the place. Needless to say, the 11th hour is what comes just before midnight, and in a previous article I wondered if this phenomenon could be meant to point us to Jeremiah 11:11…
Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
If we were in the 11th hour, could this very strange full moon be indicating that we are now crossing a threshold into the “12th hour”?
Right now, I don’t have answers to any of these questions.
I am simply putting them out there.
According to ABC News, the full moon that happens in December is also commonly known as the “Long Night’s Moon”…
The final full moon of the lunar cycle this year, and of the decade, is also known as the “Long Night’s Moon” — a fitting title as winter solstice nears which brings longer, darker nights.
And to top off the numerical calendar fun, the next day is Friday the 13th.
Could it be possible that we are entering a “long night” for America?
Once again, I don’t know, but we should never be afraid to ask questions.
Because the path to answers usually starts with asking good questions, and I wish that there were a whole lot more people asking the right questions in America today.
