Donald Trump

Media coverage of Donald Trump’s controverisal immigration remarks have lifted the GOP presidential candidate to the top of the Republican field, according to a new Economist/YouGov poll.

Trump was the preferred GOP nominee for president for 15 percent of respondents — 4 points ahead of former Gov. Jeb Bush (Fla.) and Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), who were tied for second place.

Gov. Scott Walker (Wis.), Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and former Gov. Mike Huckabee (Ark.) shared the third spot with 9 percent each.

  1. So it begins . . .
The handwriting is on the wall for all Republicans to be a little less cooperative with the current Democratic Party’s legislation.
Mr. Donald Trump is in danger of becoming a real candidate for election.
It is a catch 22. If you run for the office of President one of the qualifications might be insanity. Only someone that is insane is likely to run.
Think about it. For the rest of your natural life you have to have guards around you. Even if you are right, there will be substantial opposition to anything you are likely to come up with. There will always be people willing to kill you for the publicity.
He has hit a nerve with his declarations concerning the illegal immigrants currently here in this country. A lot of what he says is true. If anything he doesn’t touch on the many conflicts of interest illegals bring with them into this country including laws on the books that are now discriminatory against the existing legal population of this country. The compromise in law is that they will be deported instead of jailed for their illegal activities. The employers of said illegals face fines, not jail time.
IF deportation is not an option then they have to jail the lot of them for illegally avoiding the draft, not paying taxes on wages earned, and poverty related crime like not providing an education for their children. This all applies to legal immigrants. They have to register for the draft if they are of age. They have to pay income taxes on any income earned. The children cannot work in the fields under current child abuse laws.
He is right. Saying it means a whole generation of Mexican and others coming illegally across the border need to be stopped.
How do you stop the executive branch? Because when it comes down to it, it is orders from the executive branch allowing all of this to happen.
Laws are basically made by Congress, not the President.
Laws are basically interpreted after they are made by the court system. There is a very thin line between interpretation and making new law. As we have seen with the supreme court and obamacare.
The President does have veto power.
The President can declare an emergency and make laws with executive orders.
I suggest those laws only need apply until he is out of office. Then Congress has to make laws if necessary to confirm executive actions.
Letting the Congress off the hook with Lame Duck executive orders that are not popular is just plain wrong. Either the Congress takes responsibility for making new laws or it doesn’t. Those people need to be unelected at the next opportunity to do so that will not legislate proper laws.
He is right about a lot of things. We do need a President capable of negotiating world decisions to protect our workers.
I have an entire list of former Presidents who have sold us right down the river and they belong to both major parties.
Trump will not be President as long as John is head of the House of Representatives and presiding over the conventions.
Why? because he makes the rules up as he goes along as he did at the Florida Convention with an illegal voice vote not counted properly.
Dr. Ron Paul found that out the hard way.
The Fifth Estate is traditionally the media. All of which is owned by a small minority of rich folk.
The media will slaughter Donald Trump if they can. Make no mistake there. they are under orders.
He jokingly sought a black woman popular on TV as his Vice. I don’t think she accepted the nomination.
If it were me, I would ask Dr. Ron Paul or Jesse Ventura to accept the VIce Presidential position under Trump.
The problem is he is exposing a whole list of bad decisions made by the President and the Congress while seeking election.
The problem also is a lot of companies are using financial intimidation to attempt to shut him up.
Donald Trump is rich because he knows civil law very well. He is likely to sue these companies and take them to the cleaners in the next 90-120 days and he is likely to get a lot of money from them. All because what they are doing is illegal or semi-legal at best.
I think Donald Trump is a lot like Ross Perot and he is likely to end up the same way.
But if a combination of disasters happens under the current economic conditions, this man may be a viable candidate. If the wealthy supporting the Republican and Democrat parties in this country see their fortunes going up in flames they might switch alliances and support him for President. That is the kind of dumb luck Donald has shown throughout his entire career in business. Personally I think he is a little to wild. But he may be your next President if circumstances occur that make what he says too true to deny.

  2. Now Mr. Trump is making wild statements against Senator McCain.
    Or are they . . .
An article just came out describing Mr. McCain as a Tokyo Rose. That while in captivity he was actually cooperating with his captors.
Everything was hushed up according to the article by influencial people in D.C.
Just when you think he has cut off his nose to spite his face . . .
Something comes out to justify what he said.
I would not put him out of the running just yet.
