Globlal Warming Scandal: The Non-Manipulated Numbers Show The U.S. Has Been Cooling Since The 1930s

When future generations try to understand how the world got carried away around the end of the 20th century by the panic over global warming, few things will amaze them more than the part played in stoking up the scare by the fiddling of official temperature data. There was already much evidence of this seven years ago, when I was writing my history of the scare, The Real Global Warming Disaster. But now another damning example has been uncovered by Steven Goddard’s US blog Real Science, showing how shamelessly manipulated has been one of the world’s most influential climate records, the graph of US surface temperature records published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Goddard shows how, in recent years, NOAA’s US Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) has been “adjusting” its record by replacing real temperatures with data “fabricated” by computer models. The effect of this has been to downgrade earlier temperatures and to exaggerate those from recent decades, to give the impression that the Earth has been warming up much more than is justified by the actual data. In several posts headed “Data tampering at USHCN/GISS”, Goddard compares the currently published temperature graphs with those based only on temperatures measured at the time. These show that the US has actually been cooling since the Thirties, the hottest decade on record; whereas the latest graph, nearly half of it based on “fabricated” data, shows it to have been warming at a rate equivalent to more than 3 degrees centigrade per century.

  1. It was never about global warming. Just another scam to make you pay more money to D.C. That and a convenient excuse, to gain more and more control over the common citizen.

  2. What is more important is to back track who gains from this falsification of information? Is it the press? Is it the scientists giving the reports? Or is it a certain former vice president?
We have the worst conglomeration of laws concerning the environment? Could it be tracked back to the Bureau dictating how we all live? Or the Congress, that conveniently made all kinds of contradictory laws that enables the EPA to do just about anything it wants? To the tune of about 3 semi-truck load full of rules and regulations that only someone majoring in EPA law might e able to understand.
I suggest the same people behind the scenes that did this falsification will make sure nothing is ever changed once the information that is correct comes out.
Because some of these people are very high placed in the very government that is supposed to make sure things are what they say they are. Only when government is held responsible for what they are doing will we ever see anything like justice. In the meantime, back at that ranch, the standoff continues.

  3. I guess the “scientific consensus” about global warming just got quite a bit less “scientific”.

    • Michael, I look at it this way. If the Government actually cared about the environment, one tiny little bit. Then they would be doing something about Fukashima. Until they do something about this most dangerous pollution. The rest of what they say, are lies and nonsense.

      • Very good point. The federal government has consistently ignored the ongoing horror of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. If they actually cared about us, they would not be covering it up.
