My friends, notice that Paul said “LET US” lay aside every weight, every sin which besets us and to patiently run our race!
He did not say “them”, “they”, he said…. “US”!
Even the Apostle Paul KNEW what it was like to contend and grapple with “weights” and “sins” and life issues and circumstances that seek to beset us.
This man who wrote over 3/4’s of the New Testament…
This man who was taught by divine revelation by Christ Himself, STILL UNDERSTOOD these challenges.
He also told us to patiently run the race set before us.
Lately, I’ve honestly felt impatient!
I feel that I’ve allowed things to beset me!
I’ve felt the weight of distraction and often unsettled in my heart.
This all came to me yesterday as I was on my way to the store.
I wasn’t fasting or praying or even seeking God….
Then I heard the Word of the Lord to my heart:
“Marty, ….I need you to STEP UP!”
As soon as the Spirit of God spoke that, then suddenly there was an awareness of all that I’ve just shared with you.
I spent a lot of the day yesterday, repenting, seeking the Lord and weeping in His presence.
You know what?
He wasn’t “mad” with me, or angry or frustrated….I didn’t sense that at all.
However, I realized that He wanted us to spend time together as a Father and child should…
I hope this is a blessing to you my friends.
