Researchers at IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation have come up with new idea of bakable robots. They shared their views to develop printable robotic components that automaticaly turns into prescribed three dimensional configurations on heating.

In the two different research papers, researchers described the system that generates the 2-D patterns to enable plastic reproduction by making use of digital specification of 3-D shape. Another paper describes ways to build electrical components from self-folding laser-cut materials.

Researchers have also described designs to manufacture resistors, inductors, capacitors, sensors and actuators. These all electromechanical muscles are used to enable robotic movements.
