People Are Making Such Ridiculous Claims About What Is Going To Happen On September 23, 2017 And None Of Them Are True

All sorts of sensationalist claims are being made about what is going to happen on September 23rd, and all of them are false.  In recent days, I have spent time looking into these various claims, and I have been deeply disturbed by what I have discovered.  Yes, it does appear that there will be a unique celestial alignment on September 23rd, and it does appear that it at least bears a resemblance to what is described in the first couple of verses in Revelation 12.  And yes, this alignment will happen at about the time of Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets).  But people have gone way beyond those basic facts and have come up with ridiculous theories that are going to make them look like nutjobs when September 23rd comes and goes and their predictions don’t come to pass.

For example, let’s take a look at what “Christian numerologist” David Meade is saying.  The following comes from Fox News

A Christian numerologist claims that the world will end next Saturday when a planet will, supposedly, collide with Earth.

According to Christian numerologist David Meade, verses in Luke 21:25 to 26 are the sign that recent events, such as the recent solar eclipse and Hurricane Harvey, are signs of the apocalypse.

And it turns out that Meade has written an entire book about this.  The following comes from the book’s description

This book is a compendium of information from every sphere—astronomical, scientific, the Book of Revelation and geopolitics. It contains absolutely amazing revelations that direct us to one precise point in time in 2017. Planet X is a cryptogram and this book contains the keys necessary to decode it. When everything is considered together, it fits together perfectly like a watch. The existence of Planet X is beyond any reasonable doubt, to a moral certainty. We examine proofs of its existence. In fact, if you want to ask one simple question that posits the theory of the reality of Planet X, just ask yourself where did 2.2 Trillion disappear to in the Pentagon’s budget that Rumsfeld said was missing, and why do we have over 100 Underground Deep Bunkers throughout the U.S.? Why are critical government infrastructures moving from their susceptible positions on the East Coast to the protected areas of Colorado?

September 23rd is going to come, and we are going to see that Meade was dead wrong.

If Planet X was close enough to be here by September 23rd, we would be able to see it by now.  The fact that it isn’t visible to anyone means that his theory has already been disproved.

Others are predicting that the rapture is going to take place on September 23rd.  The following is an excerpt from an article in a British news source

Scores of YouTube doom videos and evangelical websites point to an astrological constellation on September 23 matching Revelation 12:1–2, which will signal the start of the Rapture and second coming of Christ:

The passage 12:1–2 reads: “And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.”

Sorry, but this isn’t going to happen either.  If you have read my book entitled “The Rapture Verdict”, then you already know that the Bible says that certain events must happen before the rapture takes place, and those events have not happened yet.

So September 23rd is going to arrive, and those waiting for the rapture are going to be greatly let down.

And because of these failed predictions, it will just cause more people to mock the Biblical promise of the second coming of Jesus Christ.  I really like how investigative journalist Kara Pickering made this point in one of her recent articles…

When we are not whisked away on Sept. 23, 2017; it will effectively cause “men’s hearts to grow” further “cold.” It will give an open platform to the scoffer’s that say, “Where is the promise of His coming?” (see: Matthew 24:12, 2 Peter 3:4)

There are others out there that are suggesting that even though the rapture might not take place on September 23rd, it may still mark the beginning of the Great Tribulation.

This is not going to happen either, and for an extended explanation of why that is not possible I would once again recommend reading “The Rapture Verdict”.

But could it be possible that the alignment on September 23rd does have some sort of spiritual meaning?

Of course.

If you look closely at the first few verses of Revelation 12, it is exceedingly clear that the subject of that chapter is the nation of Israel.  Pastor Mark Biltz is trying to explain this to anyone that will listen, and I greatly appreciate his fine work.  The following comes from WND

Revelation 12: 1-2 reads: “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.”

Biltz believes the upcoming sign on Sept. 23 is precisely what this passage is referring to.

“The woman clothed with the sun is the constellation Virgo and represents the nation of Israel,” he explained. “The 12 stars represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Interestingly, the constellation Leo, the lion, which is above Virgo, is made up of nine stars. The lion represents specifically the tribe of Judah. It just so happens this year during the Days of Awe, three planets will join the constellation Leo making up 12 stars. Virgo will be clothed with the sun, and the moon will be under her feet, fulfilling this sign to precise detail.”

So what will happen on September 23rd?

I don’t know.  Perhaps something will happen, or perhaps nothing will happen at all.

But Jesus did warn us that there would be signs in the sun, moon and stars just prior to His return, and so I think that it is okay to wonder about this very unusual celestial alignment.

However, the wild theories that some people have been throwing around are not helpful, and they will only serve to bring discredit on Bible-believing Christians when they don’t come to pass.

Next year Israel celebrates 70 years of existence. Next year Billy Graham will celebrate his 100th birthday. Jews and Christians will have something to celebrate, but…when they say ‘Peace and Security.’

I am concerned about the statement made ”

If you have read my book entitled “The Rapture Verdict”,
then you already know that the Bible says that certain events must
happen before the rapture takes place, and those events have not
happened yet.” I don’t know of any where in the Bible it says that

Here are a few requirements the Bible gives before the rapture happens:
    1. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 says believers won’t be gathered to Jesus until the “man of lawlessness” (i.e., the antichrist) is revealed.
    2. The gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all nations (Mark 13:10 & Matthew 24:14).
    3. The sun and moon will be darkened and the stars will fall from heaven (Mark 13:24-27).
Then Jesus will send His angels to gather His elect “after the tribulation of those days” (Matthew 24:29-31).

Well I am actually taking more notice of this years feast of trumpets. It is also a Jubilee year so it is extra special. There is so many fulfillments with this feast of trumpets, its mind boggling! 70 years since Israel became a nation, 50 years since the 6 day war, this year will mark the 120th jubilee since Adam and not to mention that in psalms 90 it states that a generation is 70 years, 80 if by reason of strength, but still considered 70years. The list goes on and on and on and on and on as if God is waving His arms trying to make it Obvious, but only those with a sincere mind will He stir things up by way of rememberance of what the prophets, Jesus and even the deciples reminded us of, to notice the season. Draw close to the Lord with child like faith. Those awake and aware of what season and time it is should be inviting people to the wedding banquet -Matthew 22. I was brought to a verse the other day because I have been grieving in the spirit and God whispered Genesis 6:5-6…if you think God is speaking prosperity or is concerned about the world and man’s agenda, He isnt…..He is grieved in His heart. He is grieving for His sleeping church, He is grieving for the lost, He is grieving for what is coming upon the earth. Come on wake UP! GET OFF THE PORCH, I shout that with all love but come on….take notice of the season, take one moment to grieve with God because I GUARANTEE that the brokenness you ever went through in life will feel microscopic compared to how much He is grieving right now….His grief is Mercy right now….but the age of grace is ending and people need to prepare for the wedding banquet, who will listen, who will come….don’t let it be to late…Jesus is coming Back veryveryvery soon! Yeah ok revelation 12 sign is happening, but first thing, focus on repentance and drawing back to your first love. Be at peace my brothers and sisters and wake up cause your redemption draws near!

I’ve stopped worrying about Christ’s return many years ago when I realized as you say the antichrist must first appear.
I keep telling people we need a Jewish temple first and the Jews are so divided as to how that will or can happen it will be miracle if and when it ever is done.
However, it is interesting to me how Islam has crept back into history. I would think our bible scholars would have seen this in the 70’s but they missed it.
What’s plausible to me is the Islamic mahdi will appear soon along with the Jewish messiah.
Prominent Rabbis today will tell you the messiah is alive and living in Israel today waiting to reveal himself. The problem is they say he may or may not do it which tells me this person is also waiting for a sign from God.
That scenario could actually happen and fits into our timeline however I realize it’s not scriptural.
I’m a Christian but I know also that the messiah the Jews have been waiting for could have never been Jesus because he didn’t fit the narrative of who they were waiting for ; which is why Jews didn’t accept Jesus then and don’t accept him as messiah now.

No, my brothers and sisters in Christ I’m afraid God’s time for his return may be farther away than we would like for it to be and even farther ; generations away.

Rapture doctrine did not exist before John Darby invented it in 1830 AD. Before it “popped into John Darby’s head” no one had ever heard of a secret rapture. It’s not Apostolic Christian teaching, it was made up.

Blitz too is WRONG. Revelation 12:1-2 pertains to the start of the Great Tribulation, and that is yet YEARS away. For real and accurate information, get the second edition of “The AntiChrist and a Cup of Tea” as well as the forthcoming “Messiah, History, and the Tribulation Period” multivolume series—and an as yet undisclosed book or two dealing with the Mideast peace process and the North Korea situation (by the same author). All these works will be released within the next several months to year or two.

taking the time to tell you HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! … just in case the world ends on 09/23 at 12:01 a.m. (wink)

Christ will return when Christ returns. My fretting about it isn’t going to be of much use, so I’m just going to go about my usual Saturday chores and then chill out with a brew and a movie.

  • Good to see Michael saying the crazy predictions about the Apocalypse are not going to happen, unlike last year when the Shemitah and the four blood moons were supposedly signs of the end — something I never for a second believed and am glad now that I did not. This is a much better article, although I’d be wary of putting the Apocalypse inside ANY box of interpretation.
