Police Officer Suffers Fractured Spine After Enraged Protester Drops Concrete Block On His Head

Police Vehicle - Public Domain

The innocent police officers that are being brutally attacked during this “summer of chaos” are real people with real hopes and real dreams. Just like you and I, they want to work hard, raise their families and make this country a better place. But now many of them have had their dreams for the future absolutely shattered by mindless violence. After the massacre that we just witnessed in Dallas, I can’t imagine how anyone could possibly think that it would be a good idea to drop a concrete block on the head of a police officer. What in the world would cause someone to sink that low? Sadly, that is precisely what happened over the weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota, and now that police officer is suffering from a fractured spine

Authorities say during the course of the protests on 94 and later, on Grand and Dale, 21 officers from multiple agencies suffered injuries. The injuries were primarily caused by fireworks, rocks, bricks, glass bottles and chunks of concrete that were directed at officers, some hitting them in the head. St. Paul Police said someone threw a Molotov cocktail at officers, as well.

On Sunday evening, St. Paul Police learned one of the officers injured last night had a large concrete block dropped on his head. That officer is now suffering from a spinal fracture.

I happen to agree that police brutality in America is way out of control. This is something that I have been writing about for years. When it comes to law enforcement in this country, we need a complete and total cultural shift.

But dropping a concrete block on a man’s head is not going to solve anything. Now that man could potentially be crippled for life, and his entire family is going to suffer deeply.

What would cause a person to do such a thing? Sadly, we don’t have to search far for an answer. We have taken God out of our homes, our schools, our businesses, our news, our entertainment and our government, and instead our young people are being constantly fed messages that are filled with anger, frustration, division, bitterness, resentment and hatred.

Now we are watching the fruit of these decisions, and everyone seems so shocked.

It was an agenda of hate that had been deeply internalized that drove 25-year-old former Army reservist Micah Johnson to start gunning down police officers in Dallas, Texas just a couple of days ago.

But the people that he was gunning down did not deserve to be shot. In fact, we are learning some remarkable things about these particular officers. For example, officer Lorne Ahrens actually bought dinner for a homeless man the day before he was ruthlessly murdered

There was a lot of Lorne Ahrens to love.

His size — 6-foot-5, 300 pounds —could intimidate, but his character was kindness.

The day before Ahrens, 48, was killed, he bought a homeless man dinner and encouraged fellow officers to greet the man, Jorge Barrientos, another Dallas police officer who was wounded, told the Dallas Morning News.

Ahrens volunteered, in uniform, at the school his 8-year-old and 10-year-old attended, said his mother-in-law, Karen Buckingham.

And Patrick Zamarripa had served three tours in Iraq before joining the force in Dallas…

Patrick Zamarripa had an urge to serve — first in the Navy, where his family said he did three tours in Iraq, then back home in Texas as a Dallas police officer.

“He went over there (to Iraq) and didn’t get hurt at all, and he comes back to the states and gets killed,” his father, Rick Zamarripa, told The Associated Press by phone Friday.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that starts happening when a nation becomes lawless. When people lose faith that the system will provide them with justice, then they start taking the law into their own hands.

But when the rule of law breaks down, things rapidly revert to the law of the jungle. Karl Denninger put this very well in one of his recent articles

Let me start with this: Why do drug dealers shoot each other on street corners?

Answer: Joe the drug dealer cannot call the cops and tell them that Jack the drug dealer ripped him off and sold him a bag of oregano instead of weed. Joe also can’t sue Jack. Thus, when the threshold of his tolerance is crossed Joe has only the use of direct force available to him because he has no recourse to the law to settle his dispute with Jack.

The FIRST foundation of civil society is The Rule of Law. Without it there is literally nothing other than the Law of the Jungle, commonly known as “he who has the biggest teeth (or the most guns) and is willing to use them first wins.”

As a society, we desperately need to find leaders that will begin the painful process of restoring faith in our deeply, deeply broken system.

And as a society, we desperately need to learn how to start loving one another no matter what we look like and no matter where we are from.

If we do not learn how to love one another, our country will surely die. And no, I am not being overly dramatic when I say that.

Unfortunately, I believe that what we have seen so far is probably just the tip of the iceberg, and our government apparently feels the same way that I do. The following comes from Martin Armstrong

The Federal government is arming every agency from the IRS to the State Department for domestic purposes. This is clearly a response to what they know is coming. There is no question that they are preparing for an uprising. They know that socialism is collapsing. Rather than reform the political economy, they are digging in their heels and getting ready to fight the civilian population. Many are starting to investigate this very unusual trend. This is very alarming. They are watching Europe and know any trend that starts there, always come here — not just fashion.

We all need to start praying a lot more than we have been, and one of the things that we should be praying for is peace in our nation.

We are getting very close to a “tipping point” after which events could potentially spiral completely out of control.

This cycle of violence is going to be very hard to stop, but it must be broken.

We must learn how to forgive one another, love one another and work with one another to heal this country.

The alternative is to continue on the path that we are currently on, and that is almost too horrible to contemplate.

War On The Streets Of America: Protesters Attack Police Officers In Major Cities All Over The Nation

Police State - Public Domain

This is what a nation looks like when it starts melting down from within. A series of very disturbing incidents of police brutality against young black males has caused a firestorm to erupt all across the country. You would have thought that the massacre of police in Dallas would have caused everyone to step back and reflect on what is really causing this cycle of violence, but instead the nationwide protests have gotten even bigger and more intense. Over the weekend, protesters attacked police with rocks, bricks, bottles, fireworks, chunks of concrete, Molotov cocktails and rebar from a construction site. In return, police fired pepper spray, smoke bombs and tear gas at protesters. As I write this, more than 200 protesters have been arrested over the weekend so far, and authorities are bracing for what the coming night will bring.

For so long, I have been specifically warning that this kind of civil unrest was coming, but I truly wish that it would have turned out that I was wrong. As a nation, we need to learn to love one another no matter what we look like or where we are from, but instead a cycle of violence has begun that is going to be very hard to break.

On Saturday night, there was horrible violence against police in St. Paul, Minnesota. That is where my father was originally from, and I remember visiting my grandmother in St. Paul many times. Back in those days, I never would have imagined that someday we would see this kind of violence against law enforcement officers in the city…

At least five officers were injured by protesters — one hit with a glass bottle and another by fireworks, according to St. Paul police. One was hit on the head with a large piece of concrete, possibly dropped from a bridge, according to police.

Another officer had been hit in the head with a rock, though it is unclear the extent of the injuries. Police say a Molotov cocktail was thrown at officers.

Law enforcement used crowd-control measures, including smoke and fired marking rounds similar to paintball rounds, said police spokesman Steve Linders.

According to another report, protesters “were dropping 10lb concrete blocks on officers’ heads, throwing bricks at their heads and genitals, and lobbing Molotov cocktails.”

There is absolutely no excuse for attacking police officers in this manner.

None whatsoever.

I want to share with you a series of tweets that were sent out by the St. Paul police during the attacks

As I have warned before, “a spirit of violence and civil unrest is rising in America“, and it wasn’t just in St. Paul that we saw these kinds of various dangerous attacks on police officers.

-In Baton Rouge, a police officer “had several of his teeth knocked out” after being hit by a projectile thrown by protesters. But it could have been a lot worse. According to the Daily Mail, law enforcement authorities confiscated “three rifles, three shotguns and two pistols” from the rioters.

-In Phoenix, protesters launched rocks and projectiles at police and many of them reportedly shouted “We should shoot you!

-In San Antonio, someone fired “multiple gunshots” at the San Antonio Police headquarters building on Saturday night…

Multiple gunshots were fired at the San Antonio Police headquarters building Saturday night, and police are seeking a suspect who was seen running from the area, SAPD Chief William McManus said.

The shots were fired just before 10 p.m. Saturday. There were no reports of injuries, but bullet marks were found on the exterior wall of the building, McManus said. Shell casings were discovered in a nearby alley.

The mainstream media would have us believe that the shooter in Dallas was a lone nut that acted alone, and that his behavior was not part of a larger trend. But they completely ignored another mass shooting motivated by hate that occurred just hours before the shootings in Dallas…

Hours before a black Army veteran shot 12 officers at a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, another former Army soldier was accused of shooting indiscriminately at passing cars and police on a Tennessee highway.

And like the Dallas sniper, Lakeem Keon Scott said he was motivated to act in response to police violence against African-Americans, authorities said Friday.

One woman died and three others, including a police officer, were wounded Thursday morning in the Tennessee rampage, one of several spasms of violence across the country this week amid boiling tensions over policing and race.

And the incident in Dallas could have turned out to be far worse. According to authorities in Dallas, Micah Johnson was found to have had bomb making materials in his home and “was planning a larger attack”

The gunman who killed five cops in Dallas was planning a larger attack but launched his assault early because the protest was too good an opportunity to miss, a police source said.

Veteran Micah Johnson went on the rampage with an AR-15 assault rifle and handgun on Thursday night, but left explosive material at home.

A law enforcement source told WFAA that Johnson was ‘planning something bigger’ but cut preparations short because he knew scores of police officers would man the Black Lives Matter protest.

At times like this, we desperately need strong leaders to step forward and calm everyone down. Unfortunately, the great leaders of the past are long gone, and they have been replaced by politicians that are trying to figure out how they can best use this unrest for their own political advantage.

Instead of hating one another, we need to start loving one another. Without love, our nation is going to die.

I wish that everyone in the country could be made to understand this, but unfortunately most Americans have chosen a different path, and now we will suffer the consequences.

Video: Cop Face-Slams Handcuffed Teen Girl Into Concrete Floor, Knocking Teeth Out

Police Brutality

Sickening video has emerged of yet another police officer violently slamming a handcuffed suspect face-first into the ground.

The footage shows Colorado Springs officer Tyler Walker ramming 18-year-old Alexis Acker into the concrete floor while the girl was already restrained.

The police reports, claim that Walker “escorted her to the floor,” or that he “rolled her to the floor.”

Indeed, the officer “escorted” Acker to the floor with such force that her front teeth were smashed in and permanent injuries were caused, including trauma to the face, head, teeth and jaw; migraine headaches, concussion, closed head injuries, memory and cognitive function problems, as well as post traumatic stress disorder.

The incident occurred in late 2013. The video has just been released as part of a $500,000 brutality lawsuit against the CSPD.

Acker had been arrested on charges of resisting arrest and assault on a police officer, with cops claiming that she was “intoxicated and verbally uncooperative with police,” during an attempted arrest of her boyfriend.

The cops delivered Acker to the hospital so doctors could grant “medical clearance” for her to be taken to jail, according to the police report. It was in the hospital where the footage was captured.

The officer is seen slamming Acker to the ground after she kicked out at him when he ordered her to sit down.

While it is clear that the very slight teenage girl did not in any way harm Walker, who is 100 pounds heavier than her, he alleged that she “kicked him in the groin area” and that he felt “immediate pain”.

L.A. Cop Lights Girlfriend’s Head on Fire While Beating Her Over the Stove — Doesn’t Get Fired

Police Brutality

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy faces multiple charges after attacking his live-in girlfriend and mother of his child, torturing her as he held her head over a stove, lighting her hair on fire.

The Orange County district attorney’s office reports that Deputy Alejandro Flores will appear in court Tuesday to face a litany of charges, including

“domestic battery, aggravated assault, dissuading a witness, criminal threats, false imprisonment and assault likely to produce great bodily harm.”

According to Deputy Amber Smith, Flores has not been fired for lighting another human on fire but instead placed on administrative leave. The LAPD can be very understanding when it comes to their boys, because come on, everybody makes mistakes, right?

Cop Accidentally Shoots 4-Year-Old, Walks Away Without Helping

Police Brutality

On June 19th, an accidental shooting involving a police officer was reported in Whitehall, Ohio. The officer was responding to an unrelated case, when a girl rushed over to him from a house down the street. Her sister Ava had been badly injured by a broken piece of glass, and was hoping the officer could help her. He decided to investigate the situation before calling an ambulance. Once inside, the family dog apparently charged at him, causing him to open fire on the dog. But instead of hitting the animal, he accidentally struck Ava in the leg (She’s currently in stable condition, and is recovering from her injuries).

As bad as that sounds, the family has revealed their side of the story, and it’s far worse than the one reported last month. They claim that the dog did not charge the officer at all, and that after shooting their daughter, he didn’t offer any kind of medical assistance. In fact, they claim he never said anything at all. He simply walked away from the scene.

Cops Refuse to Stop Chase Plowing Over Multiple Children, Killing Them During Neighborhood Pursuit

Police Brutality

Or so says the official policy of the Detroit Police Department. Yet, on Wednesday, Detroit police continued a high-speed chase into a busy neighborhood, resulting in two small children being killed and others injured.

Brother and sister Michaelangelo and Makiah Jackson, ages 6 and 3 respectively, were playing in front of their home when a police car appeared, chasing what appeared to be a red Challenger. According to eyewitnesses, the police car bumped the Challenger, and the car “flew up in the air.” Witnesses heard tire squeals, as if the car was attempting to stop, but by then it was going too fast and had lost control and hit the two small children, killing them instantly.

Kids Abused, Choked And Beaten In Dark Rooms At Police ‘Leadership Camp’

Police Brutality

Several children aged 12 to 16 have come forward declaring that they were abused at the hands of cops at at 20 week “leadership camp” in California.

The police training camp claims to teach ‘discipline and leadership’ in order to keep kids out of trouble and reduce family conflict. The program, which costs $400, is sponsored by the Huntington Park Police Department, South Gate Police Department, and the California National Guard.

However, police with San Luis Obispo County have been accused of pulling children into dark rooms and punching, choking and beating them.

Why I Wouldn’t Want To Be A Police Officer In America Today

Police - Public Domain

Can you imagine going to work each day knowing that there are lots of people out there that would love to see you dead? Despite what a lot of Americans may think, it takes real courage to be a police officer in this country today. Every time you put on that uniform and walk out the front door, it might be the very last time that you ever see your spouse and family. Yes, there is a whole lot of needless police brutality in the United States in 2015, and I am going to address that later in this article. But most police officers are just regular people that are trying to do their jobs and serve their communities. And on Wednesday, we got a reminder of just how dangerous those jobs can be. At around midnight on Wednesday, two Ferguson police officers were ambushed. A 32-year-old officer named Webster Groves was shot just beneath his right eye, and another 41-year-old officer was hit in the shoulder. Sadly, this is probably only just the beginning. Racial tensions continue to escalate, and we are on the verge of a great financial crisis which will cause economic conditions in our cities to deteriorate rapidly. By the end of this decade, I fully expect civil unrest, rioting, looting and mindless violence to become commonplace in large cities all across America. In such an environment, it will be extremely dangerous to be a police officer.

The good news for the two police officers that got shot in Ferguson is that it looks like they are going to be okay.

But the same cannot be said for many other police officers that have been ambushed over the past year.

According to CNN, the number of police officers that were shot to death increased by more than 50 percent in 2014…

The number of law enforcement officers shot to death in the line of duty is up by more than 50% this year, and the leading method of those shootings was ambush-style attack.

That’s according to the nonprofit Washington-based National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which released its findings Tuesday.

And like I said, this is probably only just the beginning.

Sadly, a whole lot more police are going to die before this is all over.

You can try to blame this latest incident in Ferguson on a “deranged individual” if you want, but I think that the reactions that we saw on social media to these police shootings say a whole lot about where we are as a country.

In the immediate aftermath of the shootings, a lot of people were actually celebrating. The following is a sampling of comments from Twitter

-#ChiefJackson steps down and two pigs get shot? Best day #Ferguson has had in years

-im glad 2 pigs wounded in #Ferguson lol

-#Ferguson kill the pigs

-serves those two pigs right, i hope organized public militancy continues #ferguson

-#Ferguson pigs shouldnt grab ppl; thugs deserved it. Wish it was #DarrenWilson. Sound familiar? #MichaelBrown #VonderittMyers #AntonioMartin

-Racist cops shot not gonna cry 4 pigs #Ferguson

-I heard two pigs in #Ferguson got shot? We’re they left on the ground bleeding out and dead like Mike Brown?

-hopefully they’ll be off the street for a long time. two less pigs out harassing & kidnapping people. #Ferguson

Could you imagine trying to be a police officer in Ferguson in this kind of environment?

And it isn’t as if we didn’t see this coming. Just consider an excerpt from an article that I authored a while back entitled “It’s WAR On The Streets Of America“…

The mainstream media and many national leaders on the left end of the spectrum have been stirring up strife and division for months on end. So now a toxic environment has been created which is inevitably going to lead to even more violence. At some recent “protest marches”, we have heard demonstrators enthusiastically chant extremely threatening slogans such as this: “What do we want? Dead cops!” And when news broke that Ismaaiyl Brinsley had brutally murdered two NYPD police officers, lots of very twisted people on Twitter were actually celebrating.

The sick thing is that there are a lot of people out there that actually want to turn this into a full-blown war. Some want a race war, some want a “war on cops”, and others just seem to want a general excuse for crime, looting and mayhem.

Unfortunately, if I am right, this is just a small preview of what we can expect in the years ahead. Just like we have witnessed in Ferguson, I anticipate that we will eventually see a number of our larger cities burn.

And it never had to be this way.

Why can’t we all just love, respect and honor one another?

Yes, police brutality in the United States is wildly out of control. In many areas of the nation, police officers are actually trained to bark orders, act like thugs and physically abuse people at the drop of a hat. Our entire culture of policing needs to change.

I think that John W. Whitehead put it very aptly in one of his recent commentaries

For those of us who have managed to survive 2014 with our lives intact and our freedoms hanging by a thread, it has been a year of crackdowns, clampdowns, shutdowns, showdowns, shootdowns, standdowns, knockdowns, putdowns, breakdowns, lockdowns, takedowns, slowdowns, meltdowns, and never-ending letdowns.

We’ve been held up, stripped down, faked out, photographed, frisked, fracked, hacked, tracked, cracked, intercepted, accessed, spied on, zapped, mapped, searched, shot at, tasered, tortured, tackled, trussed up, tricked, lied to, labeled, libeled, leered at, shoved aside, saddled with debt not of our own making, sold a bill of goods about national security, tuned out by those representing us, tossed aside, and taken to the cleaners.

As I point out in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, we’ve had our freedoms turned inside out, our democratic structure flipped upside down, and our house of cards left in a shambles.

We’ve had our children burned by flashbang grenades, our dogs shot, and our old folks hospitalized after accidental” encounters with marauding SWAT teams. We’ve been told that as citizens we have no rights within 100 miles of our own border, now considered “Constitution-free zones.” We’ve had our faces filed in government databases, our biometrics crosschecked against criminal databanks, and our consumerist tendencies catalogued for future marketing overtures.

Now a large segment of our population either detests the police or is extremely fearful of ever dealing with them.

Is that a recipe for a healthy society?

Police brutality has become a permanent part of our culture, and that has got to change. If it doesn’t, protests against the police are going to get worse and worse.

But what most protesters don’t seem to understand is that we actually need the police.

Without the police, our society would descend into utter chaos very rapidly. Thanks to unchecked illegal immigration, there are approximately 1.4 million gang members roaming our cities now. And the moral decay that we see all around us is getting worse with each passing year. We are a nation that is absolutely teeming with addicts, sickos, perverts and psychopaths. I don’t even want to imagine what our society would look like without police.

Like I said, most police officers are just average people that are trying to do their jobs and serve their communities.

Unfortunately for them, their jobs are becoming a lot more difficult and a lot more dangerous.

So what do you think? Please feel free to share your thoughts by posting a comment below…

Indian Man Visits Family In Alabama, Cops Paralyze Him For Walking Around Neighborhood

Police Brutality

A 57-year-old Indian man visiting his family in Alabama has been left paralyzed after police bodyslammed him to the ground in an exchange that occurred when the man went for a stroll around the block.

Sureshbhai Patel, a farmer from a small town in India, was visiting his son, three years a US citizen, to help look after his 17-month-old grandson. When he decided to take a look around the neighborhood, someone called the cops and reported Mr Patel, who has been approved as a permanent resident of the United States, as a ‘suspicious’ person.

The officers arrived on the scene and, upon discovering Mr Patel couldn’t speak English very well, began to pat him down. Patel is said to have repeatedly told them he couldn’t speak English, and pointed to his son’s house, also repeating his son’s phone number, but to no avail.

One of the officers grabbed him by the arm, twisted it behind his back and slammed him to the ground, face first.

The resulting injury left Patel bleeding and temporarily paralyzed. He was later hospitalized and had to undergo surgery to fuse two vertebrae due to swelling in his spine. Patel has regained some motion in his arms and left leg, but his right leg remains paralyzed, according to the report. Patel, who previously had no health issues, now faces lengthy therapy in order to fully recover.

Cop Shoots Child For Standing Next To Another Child Holding A Toy Gun

What - Public Domain

A police officer in LA shot a 15-year-old kid who was part of a group of kids playing with a toy gun in an ally, the LA Times reports.

The child who was shot wasn’t even holding the toy, according to the report, and was just in the vicinity.

The police report notes that officers encountered the group and drew their own firearms, ordering the boy to drop the weapon. When he didn’t drop it, one of the officers opened fire, striking the boy closest to him.

The boy was rushed to hospital and released following treatment.

“It’s certainly an unfortunate situation,” said police department spokesman Cmdr. Andrew Smith. “But because of people bringing replica weapons out like that, it certainly could have been a terrible tragedy.”

Family Asks Cops To Check In On Sick Veteran; Cops Break Into House, Kill Him

Police Brutality

A family in North Carolina asked police officers to check on the welfare of an elderly relative, a Korean war veteran, who was recovering from surgery. In response to the request, the cops went to the man’s house at midnight, broke in, and then shot him dead.

Clearly the family were under the impression that police officers can still be relied upon to perform such helpful community duties, but they were tragically wrong.

WSOCTV reports that while the family asked the officers to check on 74-year-old James Howard Allen on Saturday afternoon, the police opted to visit the man’s home very late in the evening.

When there was no answer, firefighters were called out to force open the door. On entering the building, police saw Mr Allen, who had just undergone heart surgery, pointing a gun toward them, prompting one officer to unload his own weapon at Allen.

Cops Put Bag On Woman’s Head, Strap Her To Chair And Choke Her To Draw Blood For DUI Test

Blood Check - Photo from Infowars

A woman is suing a host of parties after it emerged that cops in Austin, Texas, forcably took her blood for a DUI test, in a scene that sounds more like something that would occur at a Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

Caroline Callaway was arrested by a police officer after she refused to take a breath test during a routine traffic stop. Ms Callaway was taken directly to the Travis County jail where the shocking events unfolded.

Callaway’s attorney told reporters with Courthouse News that despite only “passive and verbal resistance” she was taken “to a small padded room, where she was surrounded by officers and strapped into ‘the chair,’ with her legs, wrists and shoulders restrained.”

Callaway, who had informed the police that she suffers from anxiety disorder and uses medications for the ailment, then “began to involuntarily tremble from anxiety and fear.” This prompted the cops to put a bag, known as a “Tranzport Hood,” over her head to deprive the senses, in some backwards notion that this would have a calming effect.

All the hood did was cause Callaway to panic further as she could not see what was happening and had further difficulty breathing.

A contracted nurse was on hand to perform the blood draw, but according to the complaint, “the needle popped out because of Ms. Callaway’s shaking and blood spewed onto one of the officers.”

Video: Cop Goes Beserk, Hits Kids In The Face With Baton, Pepper Spray

Police Brutality

Three students at a school in Baltimore were intially charged with assault and suspended after a school police officer attacked them with a baton and pepper spray, seemingly for no reason.

One of the girls, a thirteen year old, was left needing 10 stitches in her head after the cop smashed her in the face with the baton, while the other girls were sprayed directly in the face with pepper spray.

The video shows the police officer beckoning one of the girls, named Starr, down a flight of stairs. According to the girl’s grandmother, the officer was yelling “Little girl, get down here.”

When Starr responded by telling the officer “My name is not little girl, it’s Starr,” and attempted to walk past, the cop grabbed her by the arm and forced her against a wall.

The video shows that as the small girl attempts to free herself, the much larger officer grabs her by the hair.

A second pupil attempts to help Starr, and becomes involved in the tussle. Starr’s cousin, Diamond, then enters the fracas and is chased down the hall by the baton weilding cop. The video shows the cop smacking the girl in the face with the baton, despite the fact that she was in a defensive posture against a wall.

Then, as a teacher attempts to restrain Starr and the second girl, the cop goes out of her way to hit them in the face with pepper spray.

“The officer kind of comes from behind and reaches around and sprays them multiple times in the face with pepper spray. It’s disgusting,” Jared Jaskot, the family’s attorney told reporters.

The footage shows Starr clutching her face, clearly in agaony after the cop’s actions.

SWAT team disfigured toddler with grenade – Habersham County, Georgia, leaves family with $1 million in medical debt

SWAT Team

A Georgia family whose child was blown up by a flash grenade during a botched drug raid, which a local pastor had the audacity to claim was part of “the Lord’s work,” has had their lives completely destroyed, with over $1 million in medical debt that the local government responsible for this act of terrorism is now refusing to pay.

On May 28, the Cornelia home of Habersham County residents Alecia and Bounkham Phonesavanh was raided by a police SWAT team, which assaulted their 18-month-old son Bounkham Jr. with a flash-bang device. The child was consequently left with a disfigured face and a collapsed lung, and the previously debt-free family has since incurred an insurmountable level of debt paying for his medical expenses.

Cops Handcuff & Shackle 4-Year-Old Boy, Haul Him Off to Jail for a Temper Tantrum

Jail - Public Domain

Greene County, VA — A four-year-old little boy was handcuffed and then shackled by the local sheriff and taken away in a squad car, after the principal at Nathanael Greene Primary School failed to calm him down.

Back in October the boy allegedly threw blocks, climbed over desks, hit, scratched, and kicked the principal and the director of special education. Unable to gain control of a 4-year-old, the school made the ridiculous decision to call a sheriff’s deputy who is assigned to the schools.

“The boy was out of control, basically, throwing his arms around and kicking– trying to kick the deputy, trying to run away, and the deputy felt that putting the handcuffs on him was for his safety as well as everybody else’s,” County Sheriff Steven Smith said.

Tracy Wood, the boy’s mother, says the school called her to pick up her son, but when she got there, police had already taken him to the station.

Obama Administration Accuses Cleveland police of having pattern of excessive force

Cleveland_Police_car - Photo by Whpq

Cleveland police officers use guns, Tasers, pepper spray and their fists either unnecessarily or in retaliation, while using excessive force on those “who are mentally ill or in crisis,” the Justice Department announced Thursday.

As a result of this “pattern … of unreasonable and unnecessary use of force,” the city and Justice Department have signed an agreement “to develop a court-enforceable consent decree that will include a requirement for an independent monitor who will oversee and ensure necessary reforms.”

The results of the federal review come as the Cleveland Division of Police is under fire for the November fatal shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice. The incident sparked outrage in an era when the Michael Brown shooting and similar situations have put police use of force under a microscope, though Chief Calvin Williams has defended the shooting, saying Rice reached for an air pistol that was “indistinguishable from a real firearm.”

New York City braces for riots after cop is not indicted in chokehold death

A grand jury in New York on Wednesday decided not to indict white police Officer Daniel Pantaleo in the July chokehold death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man.

Federal officials subsequently announced they were moving ahead with a civil rights investigation.

During the fatal encounter July 17 on Staten Island, Garner raised both hands in the air and told the officers not to touch him. Seconds later, a video shows an officer behind Garner grab him in a chokehold and pull him to the sidewalk, rolling him onto his stomach.

“I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” Garner said repeatedly, his cries muffled into the pavement.

Video: New York Deputy Slaps Man For Refusing Unwarranted Search

Police Brutality

A New York deputy with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department was caught on film early Friday morning slapping a young man who declined to have his vehicle searched.

According to Adam Roberts, who spoke with Infowars after uploading the disturbing video to Youtube, he and his friend Colin Fitch were approached by two deputies while shopping inside a Walmart that evening.

After being forced to present their IDs, the pair were taken outside to Colin’s vehicle and asked about a .22 rifle on the backseat.

As Colin explained that he had just purchased the rifle earlier that day at a nearby store, a deputy Shawn Glans began demanding access to the vehicle, despite Colin proving that he was of legal age to own it.

“So they started questioning us and were very ornery and asking about the gun and what not and then Colin asked him what we had done wrong and what he was charging us with and he didn’t give us a good answer,” Roberts said.

How Asset Forfeiture Allows Cops to Steal from Citizens

Traffic Stop Photo By Jeff Dean

It probably seemed like a bright idea at the time: Let the police seize the ill-gotten gains of alleged drug dealers and other suspected criminals and sell it, using the proceeds to buy much-needed crime-fighting gear.

Unfortunately, the process—civil asset forfeiture—did not require convicting anybody of a crime. In fact, it didn’t even require charging anybody with a crime.

Not surprisingly, this led to rampant abuse, which has been abundantly documented for many years. Various reform efforts, including a 2000 federal law, have been unable to stop what’s become known as policing for profit.

But Virginia lawmaker Mark Cole is going to give it another shot. That’s as good a sign as any that civil asset forfeiture has jumped the shark.

Cop Smashes Through Window, Tasers Man As He Refuses To Show ID During Traffic Stop

Police Brutality

A police officer in Illinois was filmed smashing through a car window, tasering and yanking out a passenger after he refused to show ID during a routine traffic stop.

According to a Fox 32 report, Hammond police claim that they were left with no choice when Jamal Jones said he did not have ID with him and refused to leave the vehicle.

Jones, his girlfriend Lisa Mahone, and their children, aged 14 and 7, were rushing to a hospital to visit Mahone’s mother, who was literally on her deathbed. The cops say they pulled the family over because Mahone was not wearing a seatbelt.

Cop Threatens To Take Man’s Baby To ‘Children’s Services’ Over Refusal To Show ID

Police Brutality

A police officer in Ohio was caught on video threatening to take away a man’s children and place under CPS oversight because he refused to ID himself during a routine traffic stop.

Andre Stockett was stopped by Sandusky police officer Christopher Denny, who said he believed Stockett to be another person, a suspect with outstanding felony warrants.

At first the officer claimed he stopped Stockett and his girlfriend, Kathryn Said, because the license plate number indicated her driver’s license was expired. When she produced a valid license, the cop changed the story, suggesting that the couple were driving without headlights at dusk. Then the officer began referring to Stockett as “Mr Newell”.

“That’s not me… That’s every black man.” Stockett protested, maintaining that he did not have to identify himself because there was no probable cause for detainment.

When Denny ordered Stockett to step out of the car, he refused saying “I fear for my life”.

Cop’s Tip For Not Getting Raped By A Cop: ‘Don’t Get Pulled Over’

Traffic Stop - Photo by DarkKomodo

In response to the arrests of three law enforcement officials in Oklahoma for sexually assaulting women while on the job, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper told women they can avoid getting raped by a cop if they simply follow traffic laws.

Raw Story first pointed out on Tuesday that Capt. George Brown, a state trooper, shared a few tips for women in an interview with local NBC News affiliate KJRH. Brown told the KJRH anchor that women can keep their car doors locked and speak through a cracked window if a trooper approaches them. If the trooper asks a woman to get out of the car, Brown said, she can ask “in a polite way” why he wants her to do that.

But the “best tip that he can give,” the anchor said on air of his interview with Brown, “is to follow the law in the first place so you don’t get pulled over.”

Resistance is Futile: The Violent Cost of Challenging the American Police State

Police State

If you don’t want to get probed, poked, pinched, tasered, tackled, searched, seized, stripped, manhandled, arrested, shot, or killed, don’t say, do or even suggest anything that even hints of noncompliance. This is the new “thin blue line” over which you must not cross in interactions with police if you want to walk away with your life and freedoms intact.

The following incidents and many more like them serve as chilling reminders that in the American police state, “we the people” are at the mercy of law enforcement officers who have almost absolute discretion to decide who is a threat, what constitutes resistance, and how harshly they can deal with the citizens they were appointed to “serve and protect.”

For example, police arrested Chaumtoli Huq because she failed to promptly comply when ordered to “move along” while waiting outside a Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant for her children, who were inside with their father, using the bathroom. NYPD officers grabbed Huq, a lawyer with the New York City Public Advocate’s office, flipped her around, pressed her against a wall, handcuffed her, searched her purse, arrested her, and told her to “shut up” when she cried out for help, before detaining her for nine hours. Huq was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Oregon resident Fred Marlow was jailed and charged with interfering and resisting arrest after he filmed a SWAT team raid that took place across the street from his apartment and uploaded the footage to the internet. The footage shows police officers threatening Marlow, who was awoken by the sounds of “multiple bombs blasting and glass breaking” and ran outside to investigate only to be threatened with arrest if he didn’t follow orders and return inside.

Eric Garner, 43 years old, asthmatic and unarmed, died after being put in a chokehold by NYPD police, allegedly for resisting arrest over his selling untaxed, loose cigarettes, although video footage of the incident shows little resistance on Garner’s part. Indeed, the man was screaming, begging and insisting he couldn’t breathe. And what was New York Mayor Bill De Blasio’s advice to citizens in order to avoid a similar fate? Don’t resist arrest.

Police Chief Uses Shovel To Behead Young Boy’s Beloved Pet Chicken

Chicken - Public Domain

A Minnesota police chief admitted to beheading a five-year-old boy’s pet chicken with a shovel last month after a neighbor complained about the animal running through the neighborhood.

Ashley Turnbull, the mother of the boy, acknowledged that her son was in violation of a local ordinance but says the chief violated multiple laws, including trespassing on private property, when he decapitated the red hen.

“The chicken was like a puppy dog to my son,” Turnbull told West Central Tribune. “You wouldn’t do that to a puppy.”

Atwater Police Chief Trevor Berger, who left the severed head next to the boy’s chicken coop, defended his actions, citing the local ordinance as justification.

“It’s against city ordinance for a chicken to be in the city and running around in people’s yards,” Berger said. I’m sorry it had to happen that way.”

Incredibly, Bergel added that he initially planned to shoot the chicken but decided not to after noticing children in the neighboring yard. After “10-15 minutes” of failing to catch the chicken, Bergel’s attention turned to a shovel leaned against Turbull’s garage.

Florida Cops Beat Teen for Sleeping in Car; Detain Witness for Recording Beating

Police Brutality

Three Florida police officers can be heard beating a young man with billy clubs as he screams in pain before they notice two witnesses approaching, one with a camera.

Although it was too dark to see anything, the officers can be heard ordering the witnesses away under threat of arrest.

“Go away or you’re going to be detained to,” the Cape Coral police officer can be heard saying. “You’re interfering with my investigation. Get away.”

When the man insists on standing there recording, the cop accuses him of smelling like marijuana, fishing for an excuse to arrest him.

New Jersey Cops Caught on Camera Siccing Dog, Attacking Man for Recording Woman’s Arrest

Police Brutality

A New Jersey man who video recorded a mob of cops beating a woman on the Fourth of July was attacked and beaten himself by those same cops, only for another citizen to video record that arrest.

Trenton police managed to delete the footage from the first camera – as they’ve done in the past with other citizens –  but didn’t manage to delete the footage from the second camera.

But only because they were too busy beating the first man to even notice he was recording.

It was the typical textbook cop beatdown we’ve come to expect from the Blue Mafia with one cop yelling “stop resisting” to a non-resisting citizen crying out in pain as another cop sics a dog on him and another cop kicks him in the face.

Family Calls 911 As Son Threatens Suicide, Cops Show Up And Kill Him

Police Brutality

In yet another instance of police making a bad situation infinitely worse, a Virginia family was left reeling when an officer shot their son to death despite being called to out to help stop the boy killing himself.

Seventeen-year-old Christian Alberto Sierra was suffering from depression which led to a full scale breakdown and attempted suicide.

Sierra’s desperate family called 911 when their son started to harm himself with a knife while at a friend’s house. On hearing that the police were on their way, Sierra fled.

With the friend in pursuit, several witnesses in the neighborhood said they heard a police officer yell “Freeze!” or “Stop!” and then heard three to four shots.

One witness noted that Sierra said “I don’t want to live anymore.” The neighbor described seeing him collapse on the ground, then get up and turn toward the police, prompting one officer to shoot.

10 Facts About The SWATification Of America That Everyone Should Know

SWAT Team - Oregon Department Of Transportation

The number of SWAT team raids in the United States every year is now more than 25 times higher than it was back in 1980. As America has conducted wars overseas in recent years, our police forces have become increasingly militarized as well. And without a doubt, many of our cities have become much more dangerous places. Thanks to relentless illegal immigration, drug cartels are thriving and there are now at least 1.4 million gang members living in the United States. But there are many that believe that the militarization of our police forces has gone way too far. Almost weekly, SWAT team brutality somewhere in America makes national headlines. You are about to read about a couple of horrific examples of this below. Once upon a time, police in America were helpful and friendly and the public generally trusted them. But now our police forces are being transformed into military-style units that often act like they are in the middle of Iraq or Afghanistan. The following are 10 facts about the SWATification of America that everyone should know…

#1 In 1980, there were approximately 3,000 SWAT raids in the United States. Now, there are more than 80,000 SWAT raids per year in this country.

#2 79 percent of the time, SWAT teams are deployed to private homes.

#3 50 percent of the victims of SWAT raids are either black or Latino.

#4 In 65 percent of SWAT deployments, “a battering ram, boot, or some sort of explosive device” is used to gain forced entry to a home.

#5 62 percent of all SWAT raids involve a search for drugs.

#6 In at least 36 percent of all SWAT raids, “no contraband of any kind” is found by the police.

#7 In cases where it is suspected that there is a weapon in the home, police only find a weapon 35 percent of the time.

#8 More than 100 American families have their homes raided by SWAT teams every single day.

#9 Only 7 percent of all SWAT deployments are for “hostage, barricade or active-shooter scenarios”.

#10 Even small towns are getting SWAT teams now. 30 years ago, only 25.6 percent of communities with populations between 25,000 and 50,000 people had a SWAT team. Now, that number has increased to 80 percent.

And thanks to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, police forces all over the nation are being showered with billions of dollars of military equipment that is coming home from overseas. The following is what a recent Time Magazine article had to say about this phenomenon…

As the Iraq and Afghanistan wars have wound down, police departments have been obtaining military equipment, vehicles and uniforms that have flowed directly from the Department of Defense. According to a new report by the ACLU, the federal government has funneled $4.3 billion of military property to law enforcement agencies since the late 1990s, including $450 million worth in 2013. Five hundred law enforcement agencies have received Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, built to withstand bomb blasts. More than 15,000 items of military protective equipment and “battle dress uniforms,” or fatigues worn by the U.S. Army, have been transferred. The report includes details of police agencies in towns like North Little Rock, Ark., (pop: 62,000), which has 34 automatic and semi-automatic rifles, a Mamba tactical vehicle and two MARCbots, which are armed robots designed for use in Afghanistan.

But when you start arming the police like military units and your start training them like military units, eventually they start acting like military units and the results are often quite frightening.

For example, just check out what happened when a SWAT team in Florida raided the home of one young couple earlier this month

At approximately 6:16 am on June 10th, 2014, Kari Edwards and her live-in boyfriend were seized upon by a SWAT team who smashed in the door and using flashbangs and armed to the teeth, swarmed upon the couple and even stripped Ms. Edwards naked in the process.

The couple says that the group entailed personnel from DHS, for whom Edwards once worked. After smashing in the door, the tactical team threw in flashbang grenades, traumatizing their cat and swarmed upon Edwards’s boyfriend and Edwards who had just gotten out of the shower.

“They busted in like I was a terrorist or something,” Edwards said.

“[An officer] demanded that I drop the towel I was covering my naked body with before snatching it off me physically and throwing me to the ground.”

“While I lay naked, I was cuffed so tightly I could not feel my hands. For no reason, at gunpoint,” Edwards said. “[Agents] refused to cover me, no matter how many times I asked.”

That is the kind of thing that I would expect to happen in Nazi Germany, not the United States of America.

But this next example is even more horrifying. The following is what one mother says happened to her 2-year-old son when a SWAT team raided her home…

After the SWAT team broke down the door, they threw a flashbang grenade inside. It landed in my son’s crib.

Flashbang grenades were created for soldiers to use during battle. When they explode, the noise is so loud and the flash is so bright that anyone close by is temporarily blinded and deafened. It’s been three weeks since the flashbang exploded next to my sleeping baby, and he’s still covered in burns.

There’s still a hole in his chest that exposes his ribs. At least that’s what I’ve been told; I’m afraid to look.

My husband’s nephew, the one they were looking for, wasn’t there. He doesn’t even live in that house. After breaking down the door, throwing my husband to the ground, and screaming at my children, the officers – armed with M16s – filed through the house like they were playing war. They searched for drugs and never found any.

I heard my baby wailing and asked one of the officers to let me hold him. He screamed at me to sit down and shut up and blocked my view, so I couldn’t see my son. I could see a singed crib. And I could see a pool of blood. The officers yelled at me to calm down and told me my son was fine, that he’d just lost a tooth.

Does that make you angry?

It should.

That young child is probably going to be disfigured for the rest of his life because of the brutality and the carelessness of that SWAT team.

Yes, we live in perilous times and many of our communities would rapidly descend into anarchy if there were no police.

But that does not mean that they have to act like Nazis. They should be able to protect us while treating us with dignity and respect at the same time.

So what do you think?

A SWAT team blew a hole in my 2-year-old son

Bounkham “Bou Bou” Phonesavanh - The Phonesavanh Family

After our house burned down in Wisconsin a few months ago, my husband and I packed our four young kids and all our belongings into a gold minivan and drove to my sister-in-law’s place, just outside of Atlanta. On the back windshield, we pasted six stick figures: a dad, a mom, three young girls, and one baby boy.

That minivan was sitting in the front driveway of my sister-in-law’s place the night a SWAT team broke in, looking for a small amount of drugs they thought my husband’s nephew had. Some of my kids’ toys were in the front yard, but the officers claimed they had no way of knowing children might be present. Our whole family was sleeping in the same room, one bed for us, one for the girls, and a crib.

A Baltimore City police officer was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty and other charges after cutting the throat of a dog, police officials announced Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called Saturday morning to the 700 block of South Grundy Street in southeast Baltimore for a report of a stray dog that had nipped someone trying to rescue it.

Sarah Gossard told 11 News that her beloved 7-year-old shar-pei named Nala had somehow escaped the gate of her back yard that morning. Cops Strip, Parade, Pepper Spray Woman And Lock Her In Cell For 7 Hours

Police In America

An Indiana woman is suing the Floyd County Jail in New Albany after video emerged of police officers forcibly stripping her and locking her up, completely naked, in a cell full of pepper spray for seven hours.

Worse still, the woman’s attorney believes that this is routine procedure at the facility and has evidence that other women are consistently given the same treatment.

Local news station WDRB obtained the footage and reports how Tabitha Gentry was arrested by a state police officer for disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement, both misdemeanor charges.

Gentry, a mother of four, was booked into the Floyd County Jail in the early hours of March 30th. Her attorney Laura Landenwich says that the events that unfolded from there need to be reviewed by a court of law.
