U.S. General: ‘By the end of the year, there’s supposed to be 1.4 million people infected with Ebola and 62 percent of them dying’

The potential spread of Ebola into Central and Southern America is a real possibility, the commander of U.S. Southern Command told an audience at the National Defense University here yesterday.

“By the end of the year, there’s supposed to be 1.4 million people infected with Ebola and 62 percent of them dying, according to the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention],” Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly said. “That’s horrific. And there is no way we can keep Ebola [contained] in West Africa.”

If it comes to the Western Hemisphere, many countries have little ability to deal with an outbreak of the disease, the general said.

“So, much like West Africa, it will rage for a period of time,” Kelly said.

This is a particularly possible scenario if the disease gets to Haiti or Central America, he said. If the disease gets to countries like Guatemala, Honduras or El Salvador, it will cause a panic and people will flee the region, the general said.

“If it breaks out, it’s literally, ‘Katie bar the door,’ and there will be mass migration into the United States,” Kelly said. “They will run away from Ebola, or if they suspect they are infected, they will try to get to the United States for treatment.”

  1. So they are all headed here. And we have illegal immigration. Sponsored by the head of the Federal Government.
21 days is an awful long time if you are considered terminal after that. How many people can get infected one way or another in that time?
I think someone needs to go into hiding pretty quick. Because a lot of people are going to place blame where it belongs.
The Democrats up for re-election might consider what there chances will be if it is a Democrat bringing Ebola to our shores.
It will not be enough to dis-associate themselves from the Democrat in charge. The immigration gig is up. If those people drag a plague into this country there is going to be a huge majority of people angry at them.
It might mean that any democrat out there couldn’t get elected dogcatcher, much less a position of importance.
What happens when neither party puts up candidates that anyone wants to elect?
I think the numbers are wrong. It is likely to be a lot more people infected die.
When people are pushed into a corner and there is no hope of living beyond Ebola, they are likely to not care what they do. But revenge for the people responsible for them getting it is a very good possibility.
They have somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks to get that revenge.
I would suggest a complete shutdown of the country as far as letting anyone in. That means no one in and no one out.
I would also suggest they go after every one of those illegals as fast as they can and close down any cases of Ebola that they find.
Logistically it is impossible to do. But they have to try. If they do not, there will be plenty of blame to pass around.
In other circumstances, the illegals could be winked at and nothing done. With a possible plague on their hands, that is an entirely different story. Any political gain would disappear overnight if they were allowed to remain loose.
