A new survey conducted by the Barna Group has discovered the most “churched” and the most “unchurched” cities in America.
At the top of the “churched” list, we find a couple of familiar names…
As it turns out, the most churched cities in America are Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Salt Lake City, Utah, with 59 percent of the residents in both localities heading to houses of worship each week.
And at the top of the “unchurched” list is San Francisco…
Meanwhile, the five most dechurched cities are San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, California (47 percent), Boston-Manchester, Massachusetts: (46 percent), Seattle-Tacoma, Washington (45 percent), Portland-Auburn, Maine (45 percent) and Springfield-Holyoke, Massachusetts (43 percent).
