Is America ready for a “politically-correct” version of the Miss America competition? Major changes that were announced today are making headlines all over the country…
At the beginning of the year, former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson was named chairperson of the Miss America Organization’s board of directors. With Carlson at the helm, the long-running tradition of the pageant is changing—there will no longer be a swimsuit competition at the event in Atlantic City on September 9.
In an interview with Good Morning America Tuesday, Carlson announced the change.
“We’re no longer judging women when they come out in their chosen attire, their evening wear—whatever they choose to do,” she said. “It’s going to be what comes out of their mouth that we’re interested in when they talk about their social-impact initiatives.” She continued: “We want to be open, transparent, inclusive to women who may not have felt comfortable participating in our program before.”
Now that the social justice warriors have gone this far, how long will it be before men start clamoring to be “included” in the competition for the sake of “diversity”?
