Flying Cars Are Here! The World’s First Flying Car Will Go On Sale Starting Next Month…

Many of us that grew up watching the Jetsons have been waiting for the day when we would finally be able to get our own flying cars, and now that day has finally arrived! A company called Terrafugia is going to start mass manufacturing a line of hybrid-electric flying vehicles, and sales are going to begin next month. But of course they won’t be cheap. According to one early estimate, the most basic model will cost about $279,000. But for those that do a lot of flying, this could be a complete and total gamechanger. These flying vehicles transition from being a car to a plane in less than a minute, and they will enable true door to door transportation over vast distances on a scale that most people never dreamed was possible.

Terrafugia is owned by the parent company of Volvo, and so this is not just some fly by night operation.

The very first vehicles will only seat two people, and those that purchase them now will take delivery in 2019

The world’s first flying car is set to go on the market with pre-sales scheduled to begin next month.

The first of the two-seat hybrid-electric vehicles, which can switch between driving and flying modes in less than a minute, will be delivered to customers next year.

According to manufacturer Terrafugia, which belongs to the parent company of Volvo, the Transition can fly up to 400 miles (640km) at top speeds of 100mph (160kmh).

Can you imagine how many false “UFO sightings” we will start hearing about once these start flying around all over the place?

And yes, these vehicles are completely legal in the United States. But the federal government does say that you will need a pilot’s license in order to operate one

It was certified as a Light Sport Aircraft by the Federal Aviation Administration in 2016.

The vehicle also meets National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration standards but consumers will need a pilot’s license to operate the Transition.

The “Transition” is certainly a gamechanger, but I am even more excited to see how the next model which has been dubbed the “TF-X” will do.

According to media reports, the TF-X will seat four people and will be able to fly at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. And the flying will be completely computer-controlled, and so you will just type in a destination before you take off

The vehicle will have a cruising speed of 200 mph (322 km/h), along with a 500-mile (805 km) flight range.

TF-X will have fold-out wings with twin electric motors attached to each end.

These motors allow the TF-X to move from a vertical to a horizontal position, and will be powered by a 300 hp engine.

The planned four-person TF-X will be semi-autonmous and use computer-controlled so that passengers can simply type in a destination before taking off.

Sadly, the TF-X is likely to be somewhere around half a million dollars, and so that is far, far, far out of my price range.

But if someone out there ever wanted to give me a ride in one, I definitely wouldn’t complain.

We live in a day and age when technology is increasing at an exponential rate. Personally, I never thought that I would see flying cars in my lifetime, but now this has become a reality.

Our world is becoming a very strange place, and the pace of change is only going to accelerate in the years to come.
