3 Events That Have Greatly Shaken America During The Month Of September

We were warned to “brace ourselves” as we entered the month of September, and this month has definitely turned out to be a critical turning point.  As I write this article, some of the biggest wildfires in history continue to rage on the west coast, political activists are preparing for weeks of chaos in Washington D.C. as they attempt to derail Republican attempts to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s vacant seat on the Supreme Court, and protesters all over the country are pouring into the streets filled with fury because of the decision that was just announced in the Breonna Taylor case.  This entire year has been a nightmare, and it certainly appears that events are only going to escalate even more during the months ahead.

Let’s start by talking about the unprecedented wildfires on the west coast.  Right now, vast stretches of California, Oregon and Washington look like something out of a post-apocalyptic horror novel.  Entire communities have been completely wiped off the map and millions of acres have been burned.

Yes, there are wildfires every year, but we have never seen anything like this.  In fact, over the past two months we have seen five of the six biggest wildfires in the recorded history of the state of California

The staggering statistics keep piling up for California’s wildfire season: August and September account for five of the six biggest fires in nearly 90 years of recorded history for the state.

The destructive Creek Fire that continues to burn in Fresno County grew about 3,000 acres between Monday and Tuesday for a new total of 283,724 acres, leapfrogging the 2017 Thomas Fire for the No. 6 spot, according to Cal Fire records. It is 30% contained.

It had been hoped that cooler weather would mean that the worst was behind us, but instead authorities are warning that another “heat dome” will soon cover much of the west coast until early October

Thousands of firefighters struggling to contain dozens of blazes from California to Washington need a break in the weather to help them get the upper hand. But while temperatures have returned to near average after a blistering heat wave in mid-August and another record-shattering heat episode this month, the weather is poised to tip decidedly in the fires’ favor.

A large area of high pressure, or a heat dome, is projected to build across the West at the same time as a large dip, or trough, in the jet stream delivers cold air to the Midwest and East beginning this weekend and continuing into early October.

So what this means is that the worst wildfire season in California history could soon get even worse.

Meanwhile, a fire of a different sort has erupted on the east coast.

The sudden passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg has set the stage for a battle for the ages in Washington.  No member of the Supreme Court has ever been more popular with the left than Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and liberal activists are absolutely mortified that President Trump has an opportunity to fill her seat.

It is expected that Trump will announce his nominee on Saturday, and he has said that it will be a woman.

At this point, it looks like it will come down to a choice between Amy Coney Barrett and Barbara Lagoa.

Mitch McConnell and other Republican leaders are telling Trump that picking Barrett would be the right choice for the nation, but many on his campaign team are telling Trump that picking Lagoa would be the smartest choice politically.

In the end, it will be very interesting to watch what Trump decides to do.

And in either case, we should expect Democrats to pull out all the stops in order to try to keep the seat from being filled before the election.

In the middle of the country, a stunning legal decision threatens to plunge major cities all over the nation into another round of civil unrest.

BLM activists were desperately hoping that the three police officers involved in the shootout that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor would all be charged with murder.  Instead, only one officer was charged, and the only thing he was charged with doing wrong was “shooting a gun into a neighboring apartment”

On Wednesday, a Kentucky grand jury indicted one of three police officers involved in the incident on charges of wanton endangerment for shooting a gun into a neighboring apartment. Former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison is facing three felony charges. Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, two other officers involved, were not charged.

This decision surprised a lot of people, but in the end it came down to a fairly straightforward application of the law.  It was decided that the police officers were justified in shooting into Taylor’s apartment because they had been fired upon first

But it likely hinged on what Attorney General Daniel Cameron told reporters Wednesday: Kentucky’s “vigorous laws on self-defense.”

Cameron said there were no homicide charges again Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Officer Myles Cosgrove — who together fired 18 shots, six of which hit Taylor — “because they were justified in firing after being fired upon.”

And that just makes sense.  If I was serving as a police officer and someone shot at me, I would definitely be shooting back.

But at this point no explanation of the legal issues is going to mitigate the pain and fury that we are seeing all over the nation.

Immediately after the decision was announced, protesters began to pour into the streets, and things soon became violent.  Two police officers have already been shot, and video footage of gunshots being fired that has been posted online is absolutely chilling.

What we are witnessing should greatly sadden all of us, because our society is literally being torn apart right in front of our eyes, and it should break our hearts to see Americans fighting Americans.

And it turns out that somebody anticipated that things would get crazy and had parked a U-Haul full of supplies right where the protesters could find it

A parked U-Haul was waiting for the crowd up the street. It contains supplies such as signs, shields, water etc. I’m not sure how people knew what it contained.

What a wild month this has already been, and I expect it to get even wilder.

The fight to stop Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court will kick into high gear this weekend, and bitter disappointment over the Breonna Taylor decision is likely to spark protests in cities all over the nation for quite some time.

I believe that we have entered an era of permanent civil unrest in this country, and that is going to be true no matter who wins the election in November.

But of course if the fight over the result of the upcoming presidential election drags out for weeks or even months after November 3rd, that will just make things a whole lot worse.

I have such a bad feeling about what is coming, and so many others that I am hearing from feel the exact same way.

So we should continue to “brace ourselves”, because what we have been through already is just the tip of the iceberg.

11 Facts That Prove That The Apocalyptic Wildfires On The West Coast Are Unlike Anything We Have Ever Seen Before

At this hour, a thick blanket of smoke from the horrific wildfires in California, Oregon and Washington is covering much of the western portion of the country.  U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon has used the word “apocalyptic” to describe the utter devastation that has been caused by these fires, and that is not an exaggeration whatsoever.  There are some small towns that have literally been wiped off the face of the map during the past week, and some of them may never be rebuilt.  This has already been a wildfire season like no other along the west coast, and we are just now entering the heart of the 2020 fire season.  It is very difficult to imagine another couple months of this, but that is potentially what we are facing.

By the time that it is over, nobody living on the west coast will ever forget the chaos that this wildfire season has caused.  Some of the largest fires have been burning for weeks, and all of the smoke is having a dramatic impact on large cities such as San Francisco

The cityscape resembles the surface of a distant planet, populated by a masked alien culture. The air, choked with blown ash, is difficult to breathe.

There is the Golden Gate Bridge, looming in the distance through a drift-smoke haze, and the Salesforce Tower, which against the blood-orange sky appears as a colossal spaceship in a doomsday film.

San Francisco, and much of California, has never been like this.

Yes, every year there are wildfires, but what we are watching this year is on an entirely different level.  The following are 11 facts that prove the apocalyptic wildfires in California, Oregon and Washington and unlike anything we have seen before…

#1 According to the National Interagency Fire Center, more than 30,000 firefighters are currently contending with 94 large fires that have burned more than 4.6 million acres in 12 western states.

#2 40 of those large fires have prompted evacuation orders, and many have been forced to flee “with just the clothes on their backs” because the fires have moved so rapidly.

#3 The August Complex Fire has already officially become the largest wildfire in the history of the state of California, and at this hour it continues to rage out of control.

#4 Five of the ten largest wildfires in California history have happened in 2020.

#5 In Oregon, 40,000 people have already been evacuated, and hundreds of thousands more have been told to prepare to potentially evacuate.

#6 On Saturday, the air quality index reading in Salem, Oregon was 512.  That measurement was “off the charts”, because the scale only goes up to 500.

#7 Prior to 2020, we had only witnessed a few “fire tornadoes” in all of U.S. history, but now they are occurring “every week or two”.

#8 According to the Washington Post, some wildfire plumes have risen “up to 10 miles high”, and that is definitely extremely unusual.

#9 About a week after a fire tornado hit the Huntington Lake area, some fires are still burning root systems underground “at more than 1,500 degrees”

A week later, Donnelly said Saturday that the Creek Fire continues to burn in the area, with some fires occurring underground and attacking the root system of trees at more than 1,500 degrees.

“Fire inspectors from the office of the State Fire Marshall stated that fire behavior in the Kennolyn area is the worst they had witnessed in their career,” Donnelly wrote in a post that was shared on social media, timestamped as 11 a.m. Saturday. “Unfortunately, it will be some time before it is safe to enter the burned areas.”

#10 Even though we still have quite a bit of time to go, this has already been the worst wildfire season in California’s history and the second worst wildfire season in Washington’s history.

#11 Sadly, the fire season still has another four months remaining, and there are at least seven weeks left in “prime fire season”.

Of course the list above simply cannot express the incredible amount of pain and suffering that these fires have caused for so many people.

When a reporter followed Betty Stevens of Phoenix, Oregon back to the spot where her home once stood, what they discovered was too horrible for words

Betty Stevens stumbled down the street that had until a few hours ago seemed so familiar, her feet crunching through ash and debris as she entered the smoking remains of her neighborhood. There were melted street signs. Trees burned down to stumps. Power lines across the road. And everywhere she turned, choking, acrid smoke.

Sobbing behind the face mask she normally wears for her job as a hospital respiratory therapist helping coronavirus patients, Stevens, 31, video recorded herself earlier this week as she stumbled through the neighborhood, raw emotion in her voice, sometimes unable to form words, moaning in obvious pain.

Could you imagine losing your home and everything inside of it?

Over the next several weeks, fires will continue to sweep across our western states and many more homes and buildings will likely be lost.

For many, it will be the final straw.  As I have discussed previously, large numbers of people have already moved away from the west coast, and there are others that are seriously considering doing so

Monica Gupta Mehta and her husband, an entrepreneur, have been through tech busts and booms, earthquakes, wildfire seasons and power outages. But it was not until the skies darkened and cast an unsettling orange light on their Palo Alto home earlier this week that they ever considered moving their family of five somewhere else.

“For the first time in 20-something years, the thought crossed our minds: Do we really want to live here?” said Mehta, who is starting an education tech company.

As a very small child, I spent several years on the west coast, and I will always have a great fondness for how it was in the old days.  But if you have read my new book, you already know how I feel about the west coast’s future.

There are very few areas on the entire globe that have been blessed with more natural beauty than the west coast of the United States.  Unfortunately, natural beauty is not everything.

Here in 2020, it has just been one thing after another, and the west coast has been hit harder than just about anywhere else.

Many are hoping that better times are ahead in 2021, but I definitely would not be counting on that.

A Sign Of The Times? Unprecedented Fires Have Turned Skies Bright Orange And Blood Red Over California And Oregon

2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for the U.S. as a whole, but no part of the country has been hit harder than the states along the west coast.  It has just been one thing after another all year long, and now unprecedented wildfires have turned the skies bright orange and blood red over vast stretches of California and Oregon.  Many are using the word “apocalyptic” to describe what is happening, and others have said that the skies look like something out of a science fiction movie.  And even though hundreds of thousands of acres have already burned in Oregon and Washington, and even though more than two million acres have already burned in California, officials are warning that conditions will get even worse as we head into “the teeth of the wildfire season”.

I can’t remember a time when skies have turned completely red for an extended period of time in the state of Oregon, but that is precisely what we witnessed on Wednesday.  The following comes from an article entitled “Skies turn blood-red above Oregon in apocalyptic scenes from wildfire-ravaged state”

Journalist Christine Pitawanich from KGW 8 is heard explaining in the video: “This, right here, is downtown Stayton.

“You can see the red hue, the red-orange glow in the sky. There is ash, falling visibly in front of the headlights of the car.

“But downtown, basically, empty here beside a few people walking around.

Can you imagine the panic that people living in that part of Oregon must be feeling right now?

According to Governor Kate Brown, these red skies are being caused by an “unprecedented” fire event…

Oregon Governor Kate Brown said the incident is “proving to be an unprecedented and significant fire event for our state”.

So far, an estimated 200,000 acres of land has been scorched.

Of course California has been dealing with “unprecedented” fire events for a few weeks now, and on Wednesday morning residents of San Francisco awoke to find that the skies above their city had turned “a pumpkin orange color”

Just when Bay Area residents thought the world outside couldn’t get stranger, the sky Wednesday dimly glowed a pumpkin orange color you’d expect to see on Mars.

With wildfire smoke high aloft in the atmosphere, the sky was a sickly yellow on Tuesday, but today a thicker blanket of toxic air is traveling overhead and the color turned an even stranger, richer hue.

And just like in Oregon, ash from nearby wildfires is falling in large quantities.

In fact, it is being reported that at one point so much ash was falling in the Bay Area that “it looked like moderate to heavy snow”

In some spots the sooty air reached the ground, and National Weather Service forecaster Roger Gass said a weather spotter saw falling ash at Buchanan Field Airport in Concord.

“They reported a significant amount of ash,” said Gass. “Almost to the point where it looked like moderate to heavy snow.”

This has already been the worst wildfire season in the history of the state of California, and we haven’t even gotten to the heart of wildfire season yet.

More than two million acres have already been burned, and normally October and November are the worst months for wildfires in the state.

Extreme heat and a bitter drought combined to create ideal conditions for wildfires to break out, and California Governor Gavin Newsom says that there were “14,000 lightning strikes” during one recent 24 hour period…

California Governor Gavin Newsom said this was the “largest fire season we’ve had in recent recorded history” as he declared a state of emergency.

He blamed the cause of the fires on “unprecedented temperatures, a heat dome, 14,000 lightning strikes over a 24-hour period and 150 million-plus dead trees related to a multi-year drought”.

I know that California is a huge state, but 14,000 lightning strikes in one 24 hour period seems really, really extreme to me.

I am sure that officials have a “rational explanation” for why so many lightning strikes are happening, but could it be possible that what is happening goes beyond our usual rational explanations?

What we do know is that literally dozens of fires are being started every day in California, and firefighters are really scrambling to try to contain them

“Just yesterday there were 43 new fires. The day before that, 49 fires,” Berlant said. “When a fire ignites right now … they are able to burn at explosive rates. But firefighters have done an amazing job at being able to contain most of these fires that are igniting.”

I have a really hard time imagining that this fire season could get even worse in the state, but that is what officials are telling us.  In fact, the phrase “much worse” is being used to describe what is potentially ahead…

California’s record-breaking fire season could get much worse in the coming days as powerful winds heighten the danger of more blazes while firefighters continue to struggle with destructive conflagrations across the state.

Intense Diablo winds are forecast for parts of Northern California this week, with Pacific Gas & Electric Co. saying it would shut off power to numerous communities in hopes of avoiding new fires potentially sparked by downed power lines.

If you look at a map of all the fires that are raging right now, it looks like nearly the entire state is already on fire at this moment.

So I am not exactly sure what “much worse” would look like.

In the end, this could be the final straw that motivates many people to finally leave the west coast for good.

Yes, the weather can be beautiful and traditionally there have been lots of high paying jobs out there, but the west coast is definitely not a place that you will want to be during the very challenging years that are ahead of us.

When the skies turn apocalyptic colors and ash starts falling so heavily that it reminds people of heavy snow, that is probably a sign that you should reconsider where you are currently living.

To me, 2020 has been a year that has been filled with warnings, but unfortunately I don’t think that most people are listening yet.

The State Of California Is Never Going To Be The Same After This…

The state of California sure has been through a lot this year.  The COVID-19 pandemic hit the state particularly hard, fear of the virus sent the unemployment rate soaring, civil unrest has ripped permanent scars in most of the major cities, and earlier this month a historic heatwave caused rolling blackouts all over the state for the very first time since 2001.  So California certainly didn’t need anything else to deal with in 2020, because it has just been one thing after another all year long.  Unfortunately, it looks like the massive wildfires that have been roaring across the state over the last week are about to get even worse.  A “red flag” warning has been issued for Monday, and just about everyone is expecting this week to be a really, really bad week.

But even if all of the fires ended right now, the devastation that we have already witnessed has been off the charts.  Hundreds of individual wildfires erupted after “12,000 lightning strikes” hit the state, and so far more than a million acres have been burned…

Firefighters have been battling more than 600 blazes – sparked by a staggering 12,000 lightning strikes – for a week. About 1.1 million acres of land has been torched. Most of the damage was caused by three clusters of fire “complexes” ripping through 1,175 square miles of forest and rural areas in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Those numbers are difficult for me to comprehend.

I would think that 12,000 lightning strikes must be some sort of a record for a single week, but I haven’t been able to confirm that.  In any event, that seems like an exceptionally high number.

Similarly, it is hard for me to imagine a million acres that have been completely destroyed by fire.  It is a monumental tragedy that will take a really long time to fully digest.

Of course the fires are still violently raging as I write this article.  In fact, two of the five largest fires in the history of the state are roaring through parts of northern California right now

In nearly a week, firefighters have gotten no more than the 17% containment for the LNU Lightning Complex fire in wine country north of San Francisco. It’s been the most destructive blaze, accounting for five deaths and 845 destroyed homes and other buildings. It and a fire burning southeast of the Bay Area are among the five largest fires in state history, with both burning more than 500 square miles (1,295 square kilometers).

Overall, wildfires in the state have already caused more death and destruction in 2020 than they did in all of 2019.

Something that has been particularly sad to hear is that many redwood trees are being burned.  Some of those trees are over 1,000 years old, and we are being told that Big Basin State Park experienced “significant fire damage”

Biologists are watching closely as the blazes encroach on old-growth redwood trees in Northern and Central California, where some giants are more than 1,000 years old and are known by individual names. While some seem to have been spared, Big Basin State Park — the oldest state park in California — saw significant fire damage.

That is not just a loss for the state of California.

That is a loss for all of us.

Unfortunately, California’s rapidly growing social decay has also been on full display during this crisis.  Looters have been hitting the evacuation zones pretty hard, and at last eight people have already been arrested

At the CZU Lightning Complex fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains. south of San Francisco, authorities said their effort was hindered by people who refused to heed evacuation orders and those who were using the chaos to steal. Santa Cruz County Sheriff Jim Hart said 100 officers were patrolling and anyone not authorized to be in an evacuation zone would be arrested.

“What we’re hearing from the community is that there’s a lot of looting going on,” Hart said. He said eight people have been arrested or cited and “there’s going to be more.”

And one guy that is apparently vying for the title of “biggest scumbag in America” decided that he would steal a firefighter’s wallet out of his work vehicle and completely drain his bank account…

A California firefighter’s wallet was stolen out of his work vehicle and his bank account was drained while he was battling a blaze, officials said. It was the latest robbery to occur amid fear and panic over wildfires in Santa Cruz.

“It’s absolutely disgusting behavior, I can’t, frankly, I can’t believe that somebody would actually have the nerve to break into a firefighter’s vehicle or enter their vehicle to steal something from them when they’re there to protect the community. Honestly it blows me away,” Chief Deputy Chris Clark with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said during a press conference on Sunday.

You have to be really, really low to do something like that.

But this is what America has become.  We have become a completely lawless nation where chaos reigns, and things are only going to get worse in the years ahead.

And we are also being told that the battle against the wildfires could go to an entirely new level during the early part of this week.  A “red flag” warning has been issued, and the state is bracing for very high winds and more lightning strikes

The National Weather Service issued a “red flag” warning through Monday afternoon for the Bay Area and the central coast, meaning extreme fire conditions, including high temperatures, low humidity and wind gusts up to 65 mph, “may result in dangerous and unpredictable fire behavior.”

There was the potential for scattered “dry” thunderstorms over much of Northern California, the weather service said, and lightning could spark new blazes.

For a long time, I have been encouraging people to consider moving out of the state.

The “California Dream” has become an endless California nightmare, and in 2020 we have seen an endless parade of so many of the reasons why millions have already fled for greener pastures.

In the end, it is such a great shame what has happened to the state.  It is blessed with outstanding weather and tremendous natural beauty, but at this point I don’t know why anyone would want to live there.

California Churches Have Been Shut Down Indefinitely, And The NFL Season May Be In Jeopardy

As I have warned many times before, life is not going to be getting back to normal any time soon.  The state of California just instituted a whole bunch of new COVID-19 restrictions, and the California Department of Health has confirmed that as a result of those new restrictions all in-person church gatherings have been banned “with no definite end date”.  Of course many churches will continue to have online services, but it just isn’t the same.  And with greatly reduced revenues coming in for the foreseeable future, a lot of smaller churches may not be able to survive.  It is one thing to lock down a state for a few weeks so that hospitals do not get completely overwhelmed during a pandemic, but it looks like California may be locked down for months to come, and some are even speculating that the restrictions could stretch into next year.

When the new restrictions were put into place, a lot of people didn’t understand that they included church services too.  Sadly, the California Department of Health has made it clear that no “indoor religious services” will be permitted

The California Department of Health clarified Tuesday to the Daily Caller News Foundation that indoor religious services in the state have been suspended with no definite end date.

Over four months after California initially instituted a lockdown on March 19, the state issued a new coronavirus order Monday that rolled back reopening plans. The order mandates that restaurants, bars, churches, fitness centers, hair salons, and barber shops must be closed in 30 of the hardest hit counties in California.

Each week, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. has continued to rise, and at this point it appears unlikely that the state of California will lift these new restrictions any time soon.

That also means that there won’t be any crowds at sporting events in the state for the foreseeable future either.

NFL players are supposed to start reporting to training camps shortly, but it is starting to become clear that the season is in serious jeopardy.

If the season does move forward, the games will almost certainly be played in stadiums without fans.  That would definitely be required for the three NFL teams that are located in California, and the rest of the clubs are likely to choose to do so as well for safety reasons.

But even if fans are excluded, that still doesn’t keep the players safe from one another.

Football is a contact sport, and so any sort of “social distancing” is simply not possible.  In such an environment, a virus can spread like wildfire.

And this week we learned that 72 NFL players have already tested positive for COVID-19…

With training camps set to open in less than two weeks, 72 National Football League players had tested positive for COVID-19 as of July 10, according to the players’ association.

It was not immediately clear who the players were or which teams they play for.

There is no way that the NFL can guarantee that players will not be exposed to COVID-19 during the games, and so the players association plans to push for opt-out clauses during negotiations with the owners which would give some players the option to decide not to play if they don’t feel it is safe to do so…

  • An opt-out clause for at-risk players to receive salary (but not bonuses) if they decide not to play.
  • An opt-out clause for players with at-risk families to earn an accrued season and benefits if they decide not to play.
  • An opt-out clause for players who leave the team after reporting (terms uncertain).
  • A $250,000 stipend guaranteed to all players if they show up to camp and everything is shut down because of COVID-19 concerns. That amount rises to $500,000 if the season starts, only to be shut down.

Of course there are many, many other things that the players and the owners must agree on before the season starts

The money — whether it’s the pay of players in 2020 or the impact on future salary caps — has to be bargained out.

The COVID-19 testing regimens have to be bargained out.

The protocols about how camps can be run on a daily basis have to be bargained out.

The safety protocols beyond testing have to be bargained out.

Equipment changes, such as mandatory face shields, have to be bargained out.

The clock is ticking, and NFL owners have been very slow to make progress on these things.

I think that even the owners aren’t sure if there will be a season, and they have probably been holding off until there was more clarity on the progression of the pandemic.  But at this point the players are starting to run out of patience.

Speaking as a football fan, I am very much looking forward to the 2020 season, and I would be extremely disappointed if it was canceled or if it was stopped before it was fully completed.

Unfortunately, we are being told that either of those scenarios may happen.  For example, NFLPA President J.C. Tretter sounded quite pessimistic about the season in a recent blog post

Every decision this year that prioritizes normalcy over innovation, custom over science or even football over health, significantly reduces our chances of completing the full season.

We don’t want to merely return to work and have the season shut down before we even get started. The NFLPA will do its part to advocate for player safety. We will continue to hold the NFL accountable and demand that the league use data, science and the recommendations of its own medical experts to make decisions. It has been clear for months that we need to find a way to fit football inside the world of coronavirus. Making decisions outside that lens is both dangerous and irresponsible.

And Dr. Anthony Fauci recently expressed his opinion that “it would be very hard to see how football is able to be played this fall”.

Of course some college football games have already been canceled, and the rest of the college football season is definitely up in the air.

We shall see what happens with college football, but at this point many people are not optimistic.

If it turns out that there is no football at all this fall, that is going to be extremely depressing.

But the good news is that as I write this article the NFL is still planning to kickoff the regular season on September 10th, and so let us hope that actually happens.

Really Bizarre Things Are Happening All Over The Globe

Just when you think that 2020 has been filled with enough trouble, even more stuff starts happening.  Coming into this week, we were already dealing with a new COVID-19 surge which has pushed the number of daily cases to the highest levels we have seen so far, a global economy which is in the process of imploding all around us, massive civil unrest in U.S. cities from coast to coast, and giant swarms of locusts that are wiping out farms all the way from eastern Africa to parts of India.  Unfortunately, now we have several more items to add to our growing list.

Let’s start by talking about an alarming new outbreak of locusts.  The following comes from a British news source

Dramatic footage captures an “astonishing” swarm of locusts swarm through farmland and destroy crops.

The short-horned grasshoppers are capable of devouring the same amount of crops as 2,500 people would each day.

Some of you may have just read that paragraph and come to the conclusion that this is “old news”.

After all, we have been hearing about the colossal armies of locusts in Africa for months, and I have published numerous articles about that unprecedented plague.

But the news story that I just quoted wasn’t talking about those locusts.  Instead, that report was about a brand new infestation that has erupted in Argentina, and one local official is saying that he has never seen anything like it ever before.

Just like on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, these little critters are voraciously gobbling up everything in sight, and countless farms are being destroyed.

Now these swarms are heading for Brazil, and Brazilian officials are definitely extremely alarmed.  One of my readers in Brazil sent me an article about this emerging crisis from a Brazilian news source, and the following is a quote from that article which has been translated into English…

In approximately one square kilometer they can have up to 40 million insects, which in one day consume pastures equivalent to what 2,000 cows or 350,000 people eat, Argentine agronomist Héctor Medina told Reuters.

What would you do if 40 million locusts suddenly descended on your farm?

Of course the truth is that there would be very little that you could do that would make any sort of a difference.  Just like so many other farmers around the globe, you would simply watch as all of your hard work is completely wiped out.

Meanwhile, an absolutely gigantic plume of dust from Africa has crossed the Atlantic Ocean and is about to hit the United States.  The following comes from CBS News

A massive plume of dust from the Sahara desert in northern Africa has been traversing the atmosphere, thousands of feet above the tropical Atlantic Ocean, and is now cloaking the Caribbean and closing in on the southeastern United States.

Every once in a while a dust plume from Africa can cross the ocean like this, but the monstrous one that we are witnessing right now is truly unusual.

In fact, one expert says that this is “the most significant event in the past 50 years”

“This is the most significant event in the past 50 years. Conditions are dangerous in many Caribbean islands,” Pablo Méndez Lázaro, from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Public Health, told the Associated Press.

As this plume travels across the U.S., air quality in some areas will drop precipitously.  Some of the dust has already arrived, but a “thicker layer” is projected to starting hitting Texas on Friday

On Wednesday, the dust is forecast to move across the Gulf of Mexico toward Texas.

Thursday morning, people in places like Brownsville in Texas and Houston will likely wake up to a beautiful sunrise and a hazier than normal sky.

Forecast models show the thicker concentration blanketing most of Central America and Mexico Thursday.

This thicker layer is likely to reach Texas by Friday and then take a turn to the east. If the forecast model is right, it will move over most of the Southeast and MidAtlantic states over the weekend.

On top of everything else, the west coast is starting to shake in a major way once again.  On Wednesday, southern California was struck by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake

California residents received an emergency alert on their phones which read: “Earthquake! Expect shaking. Drop, Cover, Hold On. Protect yourself now. – USGS ShakeAlert”. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake struck 17km south-southeast of Lone Pine. The tremor originated at a depth of 2.9km, with an epicenter around 17 kilometers south-east of Lone Pine.

According to a USGS interactive shake map the impact of the earthquake could be felt in the Death Valley National Park.

The earthquake has since been downgraded to 5.8 magnitude.

That quake was followed by numerous sizable aftershocks, including one that was measured to be magnitude 4.6.

Overall, there have been 2,267 earthquakes in California and Nevada over the last 7 days, and that is definitely alarming.

Farther south along “the Ring of Fire”, Mexico was hit by a magnitude 7.4 earthquake on Tuesday

A powerful earthquake struck Mexico’s southern Oaxaca region on Tuesday, killing at least five people and shaking buildings hundreds of miles away.

The 7.4-magnitude quake struck mid-morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Its epicenter was off the Pacific coast about seven miles southwest of Santa María Zapotitlán, near the beach resort of Huatulco.

Very large seismic events are happening so frequently now that they barely make a blip on the news these days, and that is unfortunate because people need to wake up and understand that our planet is becoming increasingly unstable.

Here in the United States, scientists have been strongly warning us for years that we are way overdue for “the Big One” to hit California, and this is one of the things that I will be addressing in the new book that I am currently working on.

At some point there will be no more sand in the hourglass, and an unprecedented disaster will strike the west coast.  Let us pray that we still have quite a bit more time before that happens.

But nothing can stop the inexorable march of time, and the deeper we get into 2020 the crazier it gets.

Unfortunately, the truth is that this “perfect storm” is just getting started, and that means that what we have experienced up to this point is just the tip of the iceberg.

In California, New York And Other Big States, The Multi-Stage “Reopenings” Will Take Many Months To Fully Play Out

The fact that a number of states are preparing to “reopen” their economies has created a wave of optimism in recent days, and most Americans are assuming that things could start “getting back to normal” in just a matter of weeks.  But that is not true at all.  As you will see below, some of our biggest states are planning multi-stage “reopenings” that will unfold over many months.  And if a new wave of infections starts to erupt, they will just lock everything down again.  So even in a best case scenario, life is not going to return to “normal” for the foreseeable future, and it is entirely possible that some restrictions could remain in place well into 2021.

Let’s break this down one step at a time.  In California, Governor Newsom just announced that there will be a four stage “reopening” process in his state, and he is openly admitting that stage 3 is months away

The next phase, Stage 3, is “months, not weeks, away,” Newsom said.

That stage will encompass personal care businesses like gyms, spas and salons, sports without live audiences, in-person religious services and other businesses where workers come in close contact with customers.

And the final phase, Stage 4, will see the end of the stay-at-home order with the reopening of the “highest risk parts of our economy” being reopened, Newsom said on Twitter. That includes concerts, convention centers and sports with live crowds.

If stage 3 is not going to arrive until “months” from now, when will we finally see stage 4?

And considering the fact that California is home to so many professional sports teams, what is all of this going to mean for the NFL, the NBA and Major League Baseball?

If the NFL season ends up getting delayed or canceled, I will be very upset about that.

Unfortunately, Newsom seems quite determined to stay the course, and he is promising that life will never fully return to normal for residents of his state “until we get to immunity or a vaccine”

“We are not going back to the way things were until we get to immunity or a vaccine,” Newsom said. “We will base reopening plans on facts and data, not on ideology. Not what we want. Not what we hope.”

As I have discussed previously, it is extremely unlikely that “herd immunity” will be achieved in this country until 2021 at the earliest.

And there has never been a successful vaccine for any coronavirus in all of human history.

So if Newsom is serious, it appears that economic activity will be greatly depressed in the state of California for a long time to come.

Meanwhile, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is also telling residents of his state to expect a multi-stage “reopening”

“We’re going to reopen in phases,” Cuomo said. “Look at the regional analysis, make a determination, and then monitor whatever you do. Phase one of reopening will involve construction and manufacturing activities, and within construction and manufacturing, those businesses that have a low risk.”

Phase two would involved a business-by-business analysis, asking how essential — and how risky — that business is to reopen.

And if cases in his state start spiking again, Cuomo has made it abundantly clear that he is more than ready to shut everything back down again

As New York prepares to let businesses reopen with the easing of the coronavirus pandemic, the state will have measures in place that will signal another outbreak of the disease and the need to curb activity once again, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.

In particular, Mr. Cuomo said that if either the hospital system in an area of the state hits 70% of capacity or if the rate of transmission reaches 1.1—meaning for every person who has the virus, another 1.1 are infected—that would constitute what he called a “circuit breaker.”

Needless to say, all of this is completely nuts, and it certainly feels like the inmates are running the asylum at this point.

No matter what we do, this virus is going to keep spreading, and most Americans are eventually going to get it.  These lockdowns can delay the inevitable, but they can’t stop it.

Unfortunately, decision makers all over America are completely paralyzed by fear of this virus, and that is resulting in some very strange outcomes.  For example, Harvard is already warning that the upcoming fall semester may be conducted “without students on campus”

Harvard University announced Monday that, given the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it is leaving the door open for a fall semester without students on campus.

“We cannot be certain that it will be safe to resume all usual activities” by autumn, university provost Alan Garber wrote in a note to the school Monday. “Consequently, we will need to prepare for a scenario in which much or all learning will be conducted remotely.”

We truly have become a nation of “snowflakes”, and fear of this virus is going to paralyze some portions of the nation for a long time to come.

But the truth is that we can’t keep Americans confined to their homes indefinitely.  As I pointed out yesterday, people are already starting to venture out of their homes more frequently, and one new survey indicates that a lot of Americans are going to reach their “breaking points” if restrictions are not lifted soon

In all, 1,895 U.S. citizens over the age of 18 were surveyed earlier this month, and 72% said they expect to reach a “breaking point” by mid-June if stay-at-home orders aren’t lifted. In fact, 100% of respondents said they would snap if this all lasts for longer than six months. The survey was conducted between April 3rd and 6th, and at that time, 16% said they had already hit their breaking point, with that number rising to 25% within the next two weeks. That would indicate that one in four Americans have likely reached wits’ end by now.

Broken down by gender, 20% of surveyed women had already reached their breaking point at the time of the survey, and 12% of surveyed men said the same. Half of women felt they’ll hit rock bottom within four weeks of the survey, and 76% in two months.

If you are elderly, have a compromised immune system or are in some other high risk group, it is going to be important for you to continue to quarantine yourself.

But the rest of the country needs to get back to work.  More than 26 million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits during this crisis so far, and a new Gallup survey discovered that about a third of all Americans have lost income due to the coronavirus…

Nearly one in three Americans have experienced a temporary layoff, permanent job loss, reduction in hours, or reduction of income as a result of the coronavirus situation. Eighteen percent have experienced more than one of these disruptions.

We are seeing so much suffering out there right now, and people deserve a chance to make a living.  According to a report that was just released, 31 percent of all Americans have already “cut spending on food” during this crisis, and that is a very alarming number.

Yes, a lot more Americans are going to get sick, and a lot more Americans are going to die.  Sadly, this is going to happen no matter if we have lockdowns or not.

In fact, we won’t ever get to the point of “herd immunity” until most of the population catches this virus, and that is going to take some time to happen.

But meanwhile, these lockdowns are causing our economy to come apart at the seams and the stage is being set for great civil unrest.

I understand that it would not be easy, but we need to try to move forward as a nation.

Unfortunately, the “multi-stage reopenings” that some of these governors have dreamed up will hold us back for many months to come and will greatly extend our economic suffering.

Elections have consequences, and the truth is that a lot of these governors should not even be trusted with mopping the floors at a local Dairy Queen.  But now they are the ones running the show, and the decisions that they are making are going to be very painful for all of us.

“Greater Idaho”: Conservatives In Oregon Want 22 Rural Counties To Secede And Become Part Of Idaho

Is the state of Idaho going to get a whole lot bigger? A group known as Greater Idaho is pushing for rural counties in Oregon and northern California to secede and become part of the state of Idaho. In fact, as you will see below, this effort has actually been endorsed by some of the top Republicans in the Oregon legislature. Today, the Oregon state government is completely and utterly dominated by the left, and due to the demographics of the state that is not likely to change any time soon. So conservatives in rural areas that are deeply upset over the direction of the state essentially have just two options. They can either move to a more conservative state, or they can attempt to redraw state lines.

Of course attempting to redraw state lines is a very complicated process, but at this point conservatives in Oregon are so fed up with the state legislature that they have decided to push ahead with this effort.

In fact, it is being reported that signatures are being collected right now in order to “put the proposal on ballots in November”…

Frustrated by liberal policies, some Oregon residents petitioned to leave the state – by moving the border with Idaho westward.

The movement secured initial approval from two counties and aims to get enough signatures to put the proposal on ballots in November, according to the group called Greater Idaho.

This is a very viable political movement, and it will be quite interesting to see where this goes.

For years, rural counties in Oregon have felt shortchanged by a state legislature that is dominated by the Portland area, and things have finally come to a breaking point. One of the chief organizers of this movement, Mike McCarter, says that this secession push “is our last resort”

“Rural counties have become increasingly outraged by laws coming out of the Oregon Legislature that threaten our livelihoods, our industries, our wallet, our gun rights, and our values,” Mike McCarter, one of the chief petitioners, said in a news release. “We tried voting those legislators out, but rural Oregon is outnumbered and our voices are now ignored. This is our last resort.”

Initial efforts are focused on just a few counties, but eventually the goal of Greater Idaho is to get dozens of counties in Oregon and northern California to secede.

The following comes from Greater Idaho’s official website

We are trying to change the present borders of Idaho, Oregon & Northern California so that certain counties & communities presently in Oregon & Northern California will become part of the State of Idaho.

Out of Oregon’s existing 36 counties, only 14 would remain in the state if Greater Idaho is able to achieve their goals, and a big chunk of northern California would become Idaho territory as well.

But getting this accomplished will not be easy. Approval would be needed from the state legislatures of Oregon, California and Idaho, and that would be a real challenge.

On top of that, the U.S. Congress would have to approve any plan, and getting that to happen would probably require a miracle.

But one thing that this movement has going for it is the fact that it has been endorsed by some big name state lawmakers in Oregon, and that includes the top Republican in the state Senate

The Republican leader in the state Senate, Sen. Herman Baertschiger, supports the idea and told CNN he’d even help write the secession legislation.

“Democrats should be paying attention to how unhappy these Oregonians are with the current regime to seek secession from Oregon. I would welcome the idea to serve on the Greater Idaho legislature!” he said.

And Representative Gary Leif actually has a map of “Greater Idaho” hanging in his office

Rep. Gary Leif, a Republican in the Oregon House of Representatives, has a poster of the “Greater Idaho” map hanging in his office.

“The Greater Idaho would then be the only West Coast state that is a conservative red coastal state. We would then truly be representing conservative values with rural constituents,” Leif explained.

It is certainly encouraging to see people take a really big idea and try to run with it.

But of course the liberals in Oregon are not exactly thrilled with the idea that most of their state could be ripped away from them and given to someone else. And as long as they are in firm control of the state legislature, it is going to be exceedingly difficult for this plan to get too far.

A similar scenario is playing out in Virginia. The Democrats have taken control of the state government, and the state continues to drift left with each passing year.

Obviously many of those living in rural Virginia counties do not like this one bit, and the recent attacks on Second Amendment rights brought things to a boiling point.

There has been a lot of talk that rural countries in Virginia could try to secede and join West Virginia, and West Virginia’s governor Jim Justice has publicly said that he would welcome those counties “with open arms”

In an unlikely bid, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice says he would welcome neighboring Virginia counties to join his state amid Democrats’ control of Virginia’s government.

“If you’re not truly happy where you are, we stand with open arms to take you from Virginia or anywhere where you may be,” said Justice, a Republican. “We stand strongly behind the Second Amendment, and we stand strongly for the unborn.”

But once again, this effort in Virginia is facing the same sorts of obstacles that the Greater Idaho movement is facing.

Of course anything that is worth doing in life is going to require effort. And those that are trying to secure a better future for themselves, their families and their communities should be greatly applauded for doing so.

Ultimately, this is yet another sign of how incredibly divided we have become as a nation. In recent years we have seen multitudes of conservatives move to “red states” and multitudes of liberals move to “blue states”, and that trend is likely to accelerate in the years ahead.

It has gotten to the point where many of us literally do not even want to live in an area that is controlled by the other side, and the 2020 election is going to deepen our existing political divisions no matter who ends up winning.

Very Unusual Seismic Activity On The West Coast Has Some Experts Extremely Concerned About What Could Happen

The west coast never stops shaking, but lately the shaking has gone to an entirely new level, and this has many people deeply concerned about what may be coming. Last summer, a series of alarming foreshocks immediately preceded the two historic quakes that shook the Ridgecrest area in southern California. But those quakes were nothing compared to “the Big One” that scientists assure us is way overdue. Someday an earthquake that is hundreds of times stronger will absolutely devastate the California coastline, and it may be arriving a lot sooner than many people think. Farther north, the Cascadia subduction zone is a ticking time bomb that could literally unleash an unprecedented disaster at any moment. What I am talking about is an event that will completely wipe out entire cities and that the region will never recover from. As I have detailed repeatedly, authorities have warned us that “everything west of Interstate 5 will be toast” when an absolutely massive seismic event along the Cascadia subduction zone sends a gigantic tsunami sweeping inland.

And without a doubt, that day is coming.

Because of the extreme damage that a major west coast seismic event would do to our economy and to our Internet infrastructure, all of our lives will dramatically change the moment it happens. So it is understandable why so many people are alarmed by the tremendous shaking that we have witnessed over the past few days. As Americans all over the country were celebrating Christmas, the state of California was shaken by 9 significant earthquakes, and farther north the city of Vancouver was rattled by a magnitude 6.3 quake

A series of earthquakes on Christmas Eve and before dawn Christmas morning hit around California, and a much bigger 6.3 quake shook off Vancouver.

At least nine earthquakes in 24 hours reaching up to 3.2 magnitude shook California from the Los Angeles area north to Chico, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.

The other quakes in the swarm ranged from 2.5 to 3.0 magnitude and stretched the length of the state, according to the USGS.

The large earthquake that shook Vancouver was preceded by five other large earthquakes that hit the region on Monday

There were no reports of damage or injuries after five earthquakes struck within seven hours off the northwest end of Vancouver Island on Monday.

The tremors began as minor quakes, but grew stronger as the morning turned to afternoon.

According to the CBC, those five large earthquakes ranged in size from magnitude 4.8 to magnitude 6.0…

  • 5.1 (8:44 a.m. PT).
  • 5.6 (11:13 a.m.).
  • 5.8 (11:49 a.m.).
  • 6.0 (12:56 p.m.).
  • 4.8 (3:38 p.m.).

Hopefully this earthquake swarm off the coast of Vancouver will turn out to be nothing.

But scientists tell us that an enormous rupture of the Cascadia subduction zone has the potential to produce a giant tsunami hundreds of feet tall, and the death and destruction such a tsunami would cause in Vancouver, Seattle, Tacoma, Portland and other coastal communities in the Northwest would be absolutely off the charts.

Meanwhile, we have also witnessed more than 30 significant earthquakes over last 30 days in the vicinity of Mt. Rainier, and anyone that is familiar with my work knows how concerned I am about the potential for a major eruption of that volcano.

Because there is always at least a little bit of shaking going on along the west coast, many residents have been lulled into a false sense of security. Yes, a major disaster has not happened in a long time, and as a result many believe that there is nothing to be concerned about. But someday a major event will strike very suddenly, and the devastation will be unimaginable. Just consider what Steve Quayle recently told Greg Hunter

“The amount of damage, and I am going to choose my words carefully, is going to be precedent setting. It’s going to be the combination of volcanos going off that are inland from the subduction zone where the plates meet, coupled with tsunamis. . . . When this happens, you will lose eight million to twenty million people. When it happens, you will lose all productivity in the electronic field, obviously Silicon Valley, and all food production in all of California, Oregon and Washington. When it happens, you will have a State of Emergency unlike any other. How about the refugees? There will be 3.5 million refugees to take care of. When this happens, what happens to the underground aquifers, and where does everybody go for fresh water? There will be years of drought, years of famine and years of water, water where did it all go? It is a very dire situation painted by computer models. This is not a sensational thing. It is a reality based, scientific study with the application of what happens.”

Hopefully such an event will be delayed for as long as possible.

But each day it gets a little closer.

Before I get back to California, there is one more little tidbit from the Northwest that I wanted to share with you. On Friday, the city of Seattle experienced “its darkest day in recorded history”

Seattle, the city known for its rainy weather and overcast, saw its darkest day in recorded history Friday due to several factors, including shorter days and dense cloud coverage.

Pyranometers are devices installed in buildings on campus at the University of Washington that help scientists gauge just how dark the days actually get in the city, the Seattle Times reported. Scientists there monitor how much solar radiation reaches the ground during a 24-hour span.

Could that be some sort of a harbinger?

I don’t know, but certainly a lot of really weird things have been happening in the U.S. lately.

Overall, there have been more than 1,200 earthquakes in the United States over the past week, and the majority of those quakes have happened in the state of California.

Prior to the earthquake swarm that we witnessed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, a series of moderate quakes rattled the Ridgecrest area on Thursday and Friday

Five months after the biggest earthquake in two decades, a swarm of smaller quakes rattled a secretive Navy base in the Mojave Desert Thursday afternoon and before dawn on Friday, according to the US Geological Survey.

Five quakes magnitudes over 2.5 struck Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake between 3 p.m. Thursday and 3.30 a.m. Friday in Ridgecrest, CA, according to the Fresno Bee.

That is the exact same area where two large earthquakes made headlines all over the globe last July.

Could it be possible that another major event is on the way?

As I repeatedly stress, we live at a time when our planet is becoming increasingly unstable.

Maybe it won’t happen this week, and maybe it won’t happen this month, but scientists assure us that major seismic disasters are coming to the west coast.

It is simply a matter of time, and time may be running out a whole lot more rapidly than most people would dare to imagine.

35 Reasons Why You Should Move Away From California

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a “reboot” button for an entire state? Because the truth is that if an entire state ever needed to completely start over it is the state of California. At this point it has become the epicenter for just about everything that is wrong with America, and each year it just keeps coming up with new ways to become an even worse cesspool of social decay and depravity. Millions of people have already left the state, and millions more are thinking of leaving. One recent survey found that 47 percent of all Californians are thinking about moving out of the state in the next five years, and a different survey discovered that 53 percent of those currently living in the state would like to leave. If about half the people in your state are seriously considering leaving, it is safe to say that things have gone horribly wrong. But instead of changing course, those running California continue taking the state down a very self-destructive path.

It is such a shame, because California should be one of the greatest places in the world to live. The weather is wonderful most of the year, the state still possesses extraordinary natural beauty, and the tech industry provides plenty of high paying jobs.

When I was growing up, millions of young Americans dreamed of moving there and living “the California dream”, and when I was a young man I seriously explored the possibility of moving there myself.

And the truth is that a lot of great things have come out of the state. The following comes from a recent article by Ann Coulter

In the last century, every great thing started in California: surfing, jeans, Disneyland, tax revolts, McDonald’s, movies, car culture, the Grateful Dead, right on red turns, Merle Haggard, skateboarding, Apple computer, and the last two elected Republican presidents not named “Bush.”

But now I don’t know why anyone would want to live there.

If you currently live in California, I am about to tell you a whole bunch of reasons why you should leave. In fact, if I could get everybody to leave the state, I would.

However, if you feel specifically called to stay, then that is what you should do. Without a doubt, light is needed the most where things are the darkest, and California needs as much light as it can get right now.

Unfortunately, I believe that it is too late for the state as a whole. It is headed for a date with destiny, and most of the nearly 40 million people that live there have absolutely no idea what is coming.

If you live in the state and you do not know what you should do, I would get out while you still can. The following are 35 reasons why you should move away from California…

1. Incredibly high taxes. At this point, California has the highest marginal tax rate in the entire country.

2. Absurd housing costs.

3. The median home value in the state is now more than half a million dollars, and that is about twice as high as the national average.

4. It has been estimated that it now takes approximately $350,000 a year to live a middle class lifestyle in the city of San Francisco.

5. Endless wildfires.

6. Epic mudslides.

7. Horrific traffic jams.

8. Los Angeles has the worst traffic congestion in the entire world.

9. The education system is awful.

10. Medical tyranny.

11. One of the highest poverty levels in the United States.

12. Thousands of drug addicts are literally pooping in the streets.

13. Almost half of all the homeless people in the entire nation live in California.

14. The state is literally being overrun by millions of rats.

15. Los Angeles has been ranked as the second most rat-infested city in the country.

16. At this point things are so bad that even Los Angeles City Hall is being overrun by rats.

17. Illegal immigration is out of control, and the sanctuary cities in California are making things even worse.

18. Rising gang activity.

19. High crime rates.

20. There is now a law in California that protects shoplifters. So for those that enjoy shoplifting, this might actually be a reason to move into the state.

21. The drug war that has been raging in Mexico is increasingly spilling across the border.

22. California has been ranked as the worst state in the nation to do business year after year.

23. California is also one of the most litigious states in the entire country.

24. The once pristine beaches in the state are now being “completely overrun with fecal bacteria”.

25. Nancy Pelosi.

26. Kamala Harris.

27. Governor Gavin Newsom.

28. The lieutenant governor, the attorney general, the secretary of state and the state treasurer are all Democrats.

29. Democrats make up nearly two-thirds of the California State Senate.

30. Democrats make up more than two-thirds of the California State Assembly.

31. Both of the U.S. senators and 46 out of the 53 members of the House of Representatives that California sends to Washington are Democrats.

32. Much of the population is openly hostile to those that identify as conservatives.

33. California has been on the cutting edge of America’s moral decay for decades.

34. There have been more than 100,000 earthquakes in the state so far this year.

35. One day the “Big One” will hit California, and the geography of the state will be dramatically altered. The devastation will be unlike anything we have ever witnessed, and the death toll will be unimaginable.

If Donald Trump wins the next presidential election, there is a group of activists in California that plan to get a “Calexit” referendum on the ballot for the following election.

Those activists don’t want to be part of a country that would elect Trump two times, because they consider their values to be completely and utterly incompatible with Trump’s values.

But what is happening in this nation is far bigger than just Trump.

To me, it would be wonderful if the rest of the nation decided that their values were completely and utterly incompatible with California’s values. We desperately need to turn America around, and the way to do that is to head in a completely opposite direction from the way that California is going.

Sadly, it does not appear that is going to happen. California may be racing ahead of most of the rest of the country, but our final destination will be the same.

California Faces 72 Hours Of Hell As “Devil Winds” Turn The Current Wildfires Into Unstoppable Infernos

An “extreme wind event” will relentlessly pummel the state of California on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and it will be a challenge unlike anything firefighters in the state have ever faced before. Right now there are 17 wildfires currently burning in the state, but that number is expected to rise significantly over the next 72 hours. High winds can carry embers a great distance from the existing fires, and it only takes a single ember to start a new blaze. Over the next three days, “devil winds” of up to 80 mph will create conditions that are absolutely ideal for the spread of wildfires, and this has caused authorities to issue “red flag warnings” for 43 different California counties. To have this many counties under a “red flag warning” is extremely unusual, and Californians are bracing for 72 hours of hell as raging infernos burn all around them.

So far, the largest blaze is the Kincade Fire in northern California. It has been burning since October 23rd, and at this point it has consumed 75,000 acres.

To put that in perspective, that is approximately twice the size of San Francisco.

Thousands of firefighters are fighting the Kincade fire around the clock, but it is currently only “15% contained”.

The brave men and women that fight these fires don’t get nearly enough credit. They are literally putting their lives on the line in order to protect the rest of us…

San Francisco firefighters shared heart-stopping video on Tuesday showing the front window view of a firetruck rushing to the front lines of the fire on a burning hill in Sonoma County, passing through thick smoke, orange flames, and blazing embers.

San Francisco Firefighters Local 798 shared the footage on Twitter showing the Kincade Fire rage at 3am adding: ‘We appreciate their complete dedication to the task of protecting lives and property.’

On Tuesday, Pacific Gas & Electric began another massive blackout in order to help prevent more fires from starting.

Approximately 1.5 million Californians are currently without power, and needless to say this is fraying a lot of nerves.

Meanwhile, the Getty Fire in southern California continues to make headlines all over the nation.

At this point it is only “5% contained”, and many are concerned that the high winds could cause it to start spreading rapidly again.

More than 1,000 firefighters are attempting to contain the Getty Fire, and LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas is warning that the high winds are expected “to be the worst the region has seen this season”

With about 1,100 firefighters battling the blaze, crews’ main objective Tuesday will be to boost containment ahead of extreme Santa Ana winds set to arrive overnight and into early Wednesday. The gusts are expected to be the worst the region has seen this season, said LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas.

Unfortunately, this crisis will not be over once we get to Friday.

In fact, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is telling us that the Getty Fire will not be completely out “for a couple of weeks”.

Of course new fires can start at any time. According to Terrazas, all it takes to start another horrific blaze is for “one ember to blow downwind”

‘It only takes one ember to blow downwind to start another fire. We’re very concerned about tonight’s wind event,’ LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas said to the Los Angeles Times.

‘We know we’re going to have a major wind event tonight at about 11 o’clock that’s going to last until Thursday. We’re doing everything we can to wrap our arms around this fire to be able to prevent a potential of those strong gusty Santa Ana winds, pushing this fire, rekindling a lot of the fire and blowing embers a mile to two miles down range,’ Assistant Chief Jaime Moore with Los Angeles Fire said.

That is what makes these high winds so dangerous.

A massive new fire could start anywhere downwind of the existing fires, and it can happen at any time of the night or day.

So let us keep those living in California in prayer, because the next 72 hours are going to be immensely stressful.

If the fires were heading toward my home, I don’t know if I could sleep. When high winds are howling, these fires can move at lightning speed, and some Californians have had to evacuate so rapidly that they have literally lost everything

Painter Wade Hoefer returned to his home at the Soda Rock Winery on Tuesday only to find his neighborhood in the heart of wine country was gone.

‘It’s just ashes,’ the 71-year-old artist-in-residence said. ‘I lost my whole life there. All I have is my clothes on my back’.

Could you imagine if that happened to you?

It is being reported that more than 20 million California residents are potentially in danger from the wildfires at this moment. Nobody knows exactly where the current fires are heading next, and nobody knows exactly where the next fires will start.

But what we do know is that the “devil winds” are coming, and that they will be extremely powerful for the next 72 hours

Santa Ana winds blowing between 50 and 70 mph with isolated gusts up to 80 mph in the Santa Monica and San Gabriel mountains are expected to arrive late Tuesday and last through Thursday evening, forecasters say. The predicted wind speeds prompted the National Weather Service to issue an extreme red flag warning, cautioning the public of high potential for “very rapid fire spread, long range spotting and extreme fire behavior with any new fire ignitions.”

In essence, for the next three days Californians will be dealing with near hurricane-force winds as massive wildfires rage all around them.

It truly will be 72 hours of hell, and let us hope that the destruction caused by these horrific fires can somehow be minimized.

“Diablo Winds” Are Ferociously Whipping “Out Of Control” Wildfires Across Vast Stretches Of Northern California

Why does this keep happening to California year after year? As you read this article, enormous wildfires are ravaging large portions of northern California, and Governor Gavin Newsom has already declared a statewide emergency. An extreme wind event that began on Saturday evening is pushing the fires along at a staggering rate, and when the winds are howling this ferociously it is exceedingly difficult for firefighters to keep the fires from spreading. It was being reported that on Sunday morning there were sustained winds exceeding 90 mph in northern California with “gusts that topped 100 mph”. It was the strongest wind event in several years, and it came at an extremely unfortunate time. These “hurricane-force Diablo winds” will continue into Monday morning, but that doesn’t mean that things will start to get better. As you will see below, another extreme wind event is in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Kincade Fire is the largest of the wildfires, and according to ABC News it has now “grown to 85 square miles”…

California Fire officials say a rapidly moving fire in Northern California wine country has grown to 85 square miles (220 square kilometers) and destroyed 94 buildings.

Cal Fire spokesman Jonathan Cox called the conditions throughout California “a tinderbox” Sunday and asked people to continue being vigilant in helping to prevent fires from breaking out.

That is an absolutely massive wildfire, and the extremely strong winds are picking up embers from the Kincade Fire and starting blazes in new areas.

The following is what Cal Fire Captain Robert Foxworthy told reporters on Sunday morning

“The wind speeds are extreme…The strongest winds I have felt in my career,” Cal Fire Capt. Robert Foxworthy told KPIX 5 Sunday morning. “They (the winds) are throwing embers a considerable distance in front of the main fire, causing spot fires, creating a real challenge for the crews fighting the fire.”

The Kincade Fire was only about 10 percent contained early on Sunday, but thanks to this extreme wind event the level of containment has now fallen to 5 percent.

In other words, this fire is completely and utterly out of control.

Pacific Gas & Electric is telling us that “nearly 2.7 million people lost electricity” on Sunday, and they are expecting more blackouts in northern California during the week.

Could you imagine being in the dark with no electricity and massive wildfires are raging all around you?

This is a terrifying time for those living in northern California, and approximately 200,000 are currently under mandatory evacuation orders.

According to the Sonoma County Sheriff, nobody can remember another time when there was an evacuation order this large

Approx 180,000 people under evacuation order due to #KincadeFire. This is the largest evacuation that any of us at the Sheriff’s Office can remember. Take care of each other.

Sadly, most homeowners in California do not have fire insurance, and so when they lose their homes they may find it exceedingly difficult to rebuild.

And after last year’s horrific fires, some insurance companies decided not to renew coverage for many of those that did actually have fire insurance…

After last year’s devastating wildfires, insurance companies are balking at fire coverage policy renewals for more than 350,000 residents in high-risk areas.

“We are seeing an increasing trend across California where people at risk of wildfires are being non-renewed by their insurer,” state Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara said in a statement.

The California Department of Insurance “has seen cases where homeowners were paying an annual premium of $800-$1,000 but, upon renewal, saw increases to as high as $2,500-$5,000,” a staggering rise of more than 300 percent in most cases.

Insurance companies keep making it really hard for us to have a positive view of them. The entire purpose for insuring our homes is so that if disaster strikes we will be able to rebuild.

Of course it probably doesn’t make much business sense to keep insuring multi-million dollar homes that are built in the middle of a tinderbox if these sorts of wildfires are just going to keep happening year after year after year.

But the truth is that we never used to see fires of such ferocity and intensity year after year. Yes, there have always been wildfires in California, but something has changed.

So why is this happening?

Why is California being absolutely pummeled by unprecedented fires in recent years?

Ultimately, I think that these latest fires will encourage even more people to leave the state, and you certainly can’t blame anyone that wants to leave.

The winds that are fueling the rapid growth of these wildfires are expected to die down late on Monday, but then another extreme wind event is coming on Tuesday

On Sunday afternoon, PG&E announced it’s monitoring another extreme-wind event that could trigger yet another power outage Tuesday and Wednesday, the third such blackout in a week and fourth in October. Up to 32 counties in Northern and Central California could be affected.

Any way that you want to look at it, this is going to be a very tough week for northern California. This is what Governor Gavin Newsom said about “the next 72 hours” on Saturday

“The next 72 hours will be challenging,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said on Saturday. “I could sugarcoat it, but I will not.”

At this moment, there are some portions of northern California that literally look like “hell on Earth”.

The devastation caused by these fires is going to be immense, but so far there haven’t been any reported deaths.

So that is the good news.

But the bad news is that these fires are going to keep happening, and the extreme social decay that is pushing so many people to leave the state is only going to intensify.

Yes, the weather is very nice in California in the winter and there are still lots of good jobs, but if I was living in California right now I would be looking to leave as soon as possible.

It Is Time To Go: Over Half Of All California Voters “Have Considered Leaving The State”

Why in the world does anyone still want to live in California? Great weather and good paying jobs are the two biggest positives that residents often point out, but the high cost of living and the absolutely ridiculous housing prices often eat up all of the extra money that Californians think that they are making. In fact, it was recently reported that it now takes approximately $350,000 a year to live a middle class lifestyle in the city of San Francisco. If you have a ton of money, it can partially insulate you from the problems that are increasingly ravaging the state, but unless you never go out in public nothing is going to insulate you completely. Cities all over the state are degenerating into drug-infested, crime-ridden hellholes that are literally being overrun by millions of rats. California has some of the worst traffic in the entire world, unchecked illegal immigration is causing a whole host of social problems, and gang activity has become a massive problem. On top of everything else, California is being constantly hit by wildfires, mudslides, earthquakes and other natural disasters. In fact, scientists tell us that it is just a matter of time before “the Big One” hits, and that is probably one of the best reasons to leave California while you still can and never look back.

Yes, there are some California residents that continue to insist that it is a great place to live.

But if California is so wonderful, why have more than half of all California voters “considered leaving the state”? The following comes from the Los Angeles Times

Just over half of California’s registered voters have considered leaving the state, with soaring housing costs cited as the most common reason for wanting to move, according to a new poll.

Young voters were especially likely to cite unaffordable housing as a reason for leaving, according to the latest latest UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll conducted for the Los Angeles Times. But a different group, conservatives, also frequently suggested they wanted to leave — and for a very different reason: They feel alienated from the state’s political culture.

With the way the state is being run, conservatives have been moving out of California in large numbers for years. In fact, I have a number of really good friends that left the state for political reasons and will never return.

On the other hand, California’s reputation for handing out free goodies has been a magnet for another class of people. Today, almost half of all homeless people in the entire nation live in the state of California, and this has become such a huge crisis that it literally makes headlines all over the globe.

For example, the following comes from an article in a British news source

Cali Carlisle admits she is a heroin addict — ‘but in a healthy way,’ she insists, even if the visual evidence belies that claim.

Her nose is the brightest shade of red imaginable. She constantly picks at scabs all over her body. Her home is a makeshift bed beneath Interstate 80 in Sacramento.

And Monday was her 26th birthday. Not that you would ever guess. Anyone looking at her would think she is at least 15 years older.

This is the cold, hard reality of the glorious drug lifestyle that so many go to California to experience.

Every year, thousands upon thousands of young people that once had bright futures ahead of them end up on the streets, in prison or dead due to this raging epidemic.

And one of the places where it is the worst is in the capital of the state itself. Not too long ago, a salon owner in Sacramento made headlines all over the nation when her rant about homelessness on social media went viral

“I just want to tell you what happens when I get to work,” stated Liz Novak, a local salon owner, to the media about what she’s had to deal with trying to conduct business in Sacramento.

“I have to clean up the poop and the pee off of my doorstep. I have to clean-up the syringes. I have to politely ask the people who I care for – I care for these people that are homeless – to move their tents out of the way of the door to my business.”

She ultimately had to move her salon completely because it became clear that things were not going to get better any time soon.

In the state of California today, virtually everything has been defiled.

At one time, California was teeming with natural beauty. But today the entire state has become a trash dumpster, and that includes California’s once pristine beaches. Just check out what Dr. Drew Pinsky recently told Laura Ingraham

“There is an organization out here called Heal the Bay which keeps tabs on safety of our beaches in Southern California, from Orange County to Ventura. Since the rains last Winter, [Heal the Bay] has been giving our beaches C’s to F’s, and F means completely overrun with fecal bacteria. What comes with that are other things like syringes, Hepatitis A and other infectious diseases.”

On top of everything else, seismic activity is a constant threat.

There have been more than 1,500 earthquakes in California and Nevada over the past 7 days, and these days that is considered to be a slow week.

Of course most of the earthquakes are very small, but scientists assure us that one of these days “the Big One” will hit the state. When that day arrives, the geography of the state will be radically changed, and the death and destruction will be off the charts.

We live at a time when our planet is being greatly shaken, and many believe that what we have seen so far is just the beginning.

The coastline of the state of California lies directly along the infamous “Ring of Fire”, and scientists have been persistently warning us that the San Andreas fault is “locked and loaded” and could possibly “unzip all at once”.

It is such a shame what has happened to the state. California should be one of the most beautiful, prosperous and enjoyable places to live in the entire world. Unfortunately, Californians have been making exceedingly poor choices for decades, and the consequences of those decisions will be extremely bitter indeed.

Is California About To Get Hit By A Hurricane For The Very First Time In U.S. History?

In the entire history of our country, a hurricane has never made landfall in the state of California. So if such a thing actually happened, it would be considered to be an extremely unusual event. Well, right now there are three very dangerous tropical storms swirling in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Tropical Storm Kiko is not expected to be a serious threat to make landfall, but Tropical Storm Lorena and Tropical Storm Mario “are expected to become hurricanes by Friday as they approach the Mexican coast”. Tropical Storm Lorena is the more immediate threat, and the latest forecast is projecting that it will reach Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula by Saturday. If it maintains hurricane strength and continues to ride up the west coast, it is entirely possible that we could see something that we have never seen before. Most forecasters don’t want to talk too much about it yet, because it truly would be an unprecedented event, but there really is a chance that California could get hit by a hurricane for the very first time in U.S. history.

Let’s back up a bit and take a look at the bigger picture. According to USA Today, a record-tying six named storms are being tracked by meteorologists right now, and three of those are in the eastern Pacific…

Sure, it’s the middle of hurricane season. But this is ridiculous.

The six named storms whirling at once this week in the Atlantic and Pacific set a record, forecasters reported.

“While Humberto and Kiko were spinning in the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific, four new tropical cyclones formed Tuesday: Imelda and Jerry in the Atlantic Basin, and Mario and Lorena in the Eastern Pacific Basin,” the Weather Channel reported.

Tropical Storm Lorena is expected to become a hurricane shortly, and according to the Weather Channel hurricane warnings have already been issued for much of the Baja California Peninsula…

A hurricane warning has been posted on the Baja California Peninsula from La Paz to Santa Fe, Mexico. This means hurricane-force winds (74-plus mph) are expected somewhere within the warning area – in this case, within the next 24 hours. Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion.

The projected track of the storm will take it very close to southern California, but that does not necessarily mean that it will make landfall. So many things could still happen, and as we have seen in recent weeks, forecasting the behavior of hurricanes is not an exact science.

But if Lorena or Mario does make landfall along the California coastline, it will truly be a historic event. According to NASA, there has never been a documented case of a hurricane making landfall in the state…

While there has never been a documented case of a hurricane making landfall in California, the Golden State has had its share of run-ins and close calls with tropical cyclones. In fact, California has been affected by at least a few tropical cyclones in every decade since 1900. Over that timeframe, three of those storms brought gale-force winds to California: an unnamed California tropical storm in 1939, Kathleen in 1976 and Nora in 1997. But the primary threat from California tropical cyclones isn’t winds or storm surge. It’s rainfall — sometimes torrential — which has led to flooding, damage and, occasionally, casualties.

So we are talking about something that would be considered to be an extremely strange event.

The primary reason why hurricanes usually never make landfall in California is because the water off of the California coast is usually quite cold. The following comes from Wikipedia

Tropical cyclones usually require very warm water to depth, generally above 26.5 °C (80 °F) extending to a depth of 50 meters (160 ft).[1] However, the waters off California are cold even in summer. They rarely rise above 24 °C (75 °F) in near-shore southern California,[2] and usually remain below 17 °C (63 °F) along most of the rest of the coast and outer coastal waters, although El Niño events may warm the waters somewhat. This is due primarily to the extensive upwelling of colder sub-surface waters caused by the prevailing northwesterly winds acting through the Ekman Effect. The winds drive surface water to the right of the wind flow, that is offshore, which draws water up from below to replace it. The upwelling further cools the already cool California Current which runs north to south along coastal California and even much of coastal Baja California.

But right now a “strange anomaly” has caused water temperatures in the region to heat up dramatically. The following comes from an article that I published earlier this month

It is being called “the Pacific marine heatwave of 2019”, and officials are warning that it could have very frightening implications if it does not dissipate soon. Right now, there is a vast expanse of water stretching from northern Alaska all the way to southern California where the water temperatures have rapidly risen to very dangerous levels. In fact, in some spots the water temperature is already “as much as 6 degrees Fahrenheit above normal”, and there is a tremendous amount of concern about what will happen if the water continues to become even warmer. At this point things are already so bad that we are being warned that this strange anomaly could “ravage marine life and decimate commercial fishing” all along the west coast.

This means that conditions along the west coast of the United States are now quite favorable for major storms, and it makes it much less likely that Lorena and Mario will quickly fizzle out once they track farther north.

And if either Lorena or Mario does make landfall in California, many will consider that to be a really, really troubling sign.

Let’s review what we know at this hour.

We know that Tropical Storm Lorena and Tropical Storm Mario are both expected to become hurricanes very shortly, and we know that Lorena and Mario are both tracking north along the Mexican coast toward California.

And we also know that water temperatures along the California coast are much, much higher than normal right now, thus creating exceedingly favorable conditions for storms such as Lorena and Mario.

That doesn’t mean that either of them will make landfall in California, but it does mean that we should be watching these storms very carefully over the next several days.

Marty Breeden’s Ominous Dream About A Major Disaster Potentially Coming To California

In recent days, my wife and I have felt an increased urgency regarding the state of California.  A couple of major storms just off the coast of Mexico could potentially develop into major hurricanes, and since the water is so unusually warm off the west coast right now, there is a possibility that we could actually see a hurricane hit the California coast for the first time in our history.

And of course John Paul Jackson warned that just before “the Big One” hits California, a very powerful storm will hit the west coast as a warning.

So in light of all that, I believe that this dream that Marty Breeden recently was given could have special significance…

Afternoon of September 14, 2019

I’ve been under the weather a bit the last few days. So I decided around 3pm (EST) to take an afternoon nap.

It seemed that almost as soon as I fell asleep I begin to dream.
Some things I saw, I believe held personal meanings….

But then the dream changed.
I was in the car with my wife and she was driving.
I looked up at the sky and saw lightening and VERY dark clouds forming…..
I said “You’ve GOT to step on it, we have to get HOME NOW!!!”

At first she didn’t seem to take it serious, but as the skies grew darker and darker…she too was concerned.
Speedily,… we got home just in time for the storm to HIT!!

IT HIT with a VENGEANCE!!
Thunder, Lightening, flooding almost immediately!!!

We ran inside and there was no electricity.
Oddly enough it was my childhood home.
I was standing in the kitchen and I heard a BIG BOOM come from the bedroom where my wife was.
I quickly ran into the room…and she was standing there looking stunned….
I said: “WHAT WAS THAT?”
She said….”The bed just started moving!”…
Then before I could answer, it happened again!!

Then in the background…I could begin to hear a song play.
The song:
“CALIFORNIA DREAMIN” by the “Mamas and the Papas”.

Now before you dismiss this, know that I think there has always been a weird, eerie sense to that song…

I’m including the words but I believe them to be significant,….
But I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t fully understand the dream…
I do feel this is significant however;

“CALIFORNIA DREAMIN”
All the leaves are brown (all the leaves are brown)
And the sky is grey (and the sky is grey)
I’ve been for a walk (I’ve been for a walk)
On a winter’s day (on a winter’s day)
I’d be safe and warm (I’d be safe and warm)
If I was in L.A. (if I was in L.A.)

California dreamin’ (California dreamin’)
On such a winter’s day

Stopped into a church
I passed along the way
Well, I got down on my knees (got down on my knees)
And I pretend to pray (I pretend to pray)
You know the preacher like the cold (preacher like the cold)
He knows I’m gonna stay (knows I’m gonna stay)

California dreamin’ (California dreamin’)
On such a winter’s day”

I awoke…..

This Isn’t Normal: Kansas And Oklahoma Have Been Hit By 65 Earthquakes Within The Last 7 Days

What are we supposed to think when rather large earthquakes start happening in places that aren’t supposed to have large earthquakes? 2019 has been quite a year for seismic activity already, and I understand that we should expect to see earthquakes in diverse places, but if someone told me that the U.S. was just hit by a significant quake one of the last places that I would check would be Kansas. The state of Kansas is certainly known for a lot of things, but earthquakes are not one of them, and that is why what we just witnessed is so startling. According to the Kansas City Star, one county in central Kansas alone has been hit by 11 quakes within the past five days…

A county in central Kansas experienced a pretty shocking uptick in seismic activity last week — 11 earthquakes in five days.

It started with a magnitude-2.4 earthquake Wednesday morning just 2 1/2 miles southwest of Hutchinson, Kansas, in Reno County, according to the United States Geological Survey.

There would be 10 more before the week was out.

The biggest one of the group hit on Friday morning. It was originally reported to be a magnitude 4.2 quake, but it was later downgraded to magnitude 4.1.

Due to the geology of the region, earthquakes in the middle of the country are often felt more acutely, and this particular earthquake was powerful enough to shake things off the shelves of people’s homes

Tim Black, who lives in Hutchinson, told the TV station his house shook and things fell off the walls. And Hutchinson resident Alice Hinnen said things fell off shelves in her home. She said she has felt earthquakes before, but this is the strongest one yet.

KWCH said people across Kansas felt this earthquake. “We’ve heard reports from people as far away as Topeka, Hays, Arkansas City, and into northern Oklahoma,” the station said on its website.

Further south, Oklahoma has experienced even more earthquakes than Kansas has over the past seven days. Overall, there has been a total of 65 earthquakes between the two states over the past week.

That definitely isn’t normal, and we should keep a close eye on this.

Meanwhile, we are also seeing more unusual seismic activity out on the west coast. In fact, a magnitude 5.4 earthquake just hit the Cascadia Subduction Zone just off the coast of Oregon

The magnitude 5.4 temblor struck at 8:23 a.m. more than 200 miles west of Coos Bay, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake hit at a depth of roughly 7 miles.

Earthquakes are not uncommon in the area, which sees frequent seismic activity as tectonic plates meet and shift and crumble under one another. The Cascadia Subduction Zone, a series of faults that runs parallel to the coast from Northern California to British Columbia, is expected to produce a massive quake that could devastate the region.

It is always alarming whenever a quake rattles the Cascadia Subduction Zone, because scientists tell us that someday a monster event will produce a giant tsunami that will wipe out coastal areas up and down the west coast. For much more on this, please see my previous article entitled “You Have Been Warned: Experts Tell Us That A Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake And Tsunami Will Destroy Everything West Of Interstate 5”.

But more than anywhere else, I am deeply concerned about the California coastline right now.

According to Earthquake Track, there have been 2,801 earthquakes of at least magnitude 1.5 in the state of California within the past 30 days.

If the earthquakes remain small, that won’t be too much of a problem.

But one day the “Big One” is going to hit, and all of our lives will instantly change.

Of course many Californians like to mock the idea that the “Big One” is coming, but physicist Michio Kaku recently told CBS News that it is actually “way overdue”

“We’re playing Russian roulette with Mother Nature,” said physicist Michio Kaku, CBS News reported.

“You realize the last big earthquake to hit the L.A. segment of the San Andreas fault was 1680,” Kaku said, according to the network. “That’s over 300 years ago. But the cycle time for breaks and earthquakes on the San Andreas fault is 130 years, so we are way overdue.”

In fact, Kaku insists that the probability that it will happen within the next 30 years “is about 100%”

“In 30 years’ time the probability of the ‘big one’ is about 100%,” Kaku said, CBS News reported. “So we will see the big one. It’s inevitable. It’s going to happen. It’s the law of physics.”

For those living in southern California, it is kind of like living with a time bomb, but you can’t actually see the timer.

Sadly, one day time will run out, and the death toll will be catastrophic. The following comes from one of my previous articles

Hopefully it will not happen any time soon, but seismologists assure us that it is only a matter of time before “the Big One” strikes California. They have repeatedly warned us that the San Andreas fault is “locked and loaded” and that it has the potential to “unzip all at once”. And when that day finally arrives, scientists have determined that the ground level could drop by up to 3 feet, and that would result in vast portions of southern California suddenly being covered by the Pacific Ocean.

We live at a time when our planet is becoming increasingly unstable, and we are witnessing major earthquakes and enormous volcanic eruptions all over the globe on a daily basis now.

I have been thinking about the coming California earthquake a lot today. The people living there have been warned over and over again, and they know the risks.

And only 13 percent of all California homeowners actually have earthquake insurance.

So when they lose their homes, they are really going to lose their homes.

Our planet is rocking and rolling, and the warning signs are very clear. Let us hope for the best, but the truth is that Californians are already living on borrowed time, and eventually there will be no more grace period.

More Than 80,000 Earthquakes Have Hit California Since July 4th, And The Aftershocks Are Headed “Toward The Garlock Fault”

The recent seismic activity in the state of California has taken a strange turn. According to the Los Angeles Times, there have been more than 80,000 earthquakes in the state since July 4th, and most of those quakes were aftershocks of the two very large events that hit the Ridgecrest area early in the month. Over the past couple of weeks, however, a very unusual pattern has begun to emerge. We have started to see aftershocks creep toward two of the largest fault lines in southern California, and this is making seismologists very nervous. The fact that we are seeing aftershocks “approaching the Owens Valley fault” is definitely alarming, but of far more concern is the fact that the Ridgecrest aftershocks are also headed “toward the Garlock fault”. The following comes from a local California news source

According to a Los Angeles Times article , aftershocks of the magnitude 7.1 earthquake near Ridgecrest have been creeping into areas close to two major earthquake faults which is concerning for some seismologists on whether it could trigger another huge temblor.

“Some aftershocks have rumbled northwest of the Searles Valley earthquake, approaching the Owens Valley fault. That fault triggered an earthquake of perhaps magnitude 7.8 or 7.9 in 1872, one of the largest in California’s modern record,” the article explains. “The Ridgecrest aftershocks have also headed southeast toward the Garlock fault, a lesser-known fault capable of producing an earthquake of magnitude 8 or more. The fault along the northern edge of the Mojave Desert can send shaking south and west into Bakersfield and Ventura and Los Angeles counties.”

In the end, this could turn out to be nothing, but there are a couple of reasons why we want to keep a very close eye on the Garlock fault.

First of all, the Garlock fault is the second largest fault line in the entire state of California, and it is a major threat to southern California.

Secondly, the Garlock fault runs directly into the San Andreas fault, and many believe that a major quake along one could potentially trigger a major quake along the other.

If you are not familiar with the Garlock fault, the following is some basic information from Wikipedia

The Garlock Fault marks the northern boundary of the area known as the Mojave Block, as well as the southern ends of the Sierra Nevada and the valleys of the westernmost Basin and Range province. Stretching for 250 kilometers (160 mi), it is the second-longest fault in California and one of the most prominent geological features in the southern part of the state.

The Garlock Fault runs from a junction with the San Andreas Fault in the Antelope Valley, eastward to a junction with the Death Valley Fault Zone in the eastern Mojave Desert. It is named after the historic mining town of Garlock, founded in 1894 by Eugene Garlock and now a ghost town.

So exactly what would a major quake along the Garlock fault look like?

Here is how the Los Angeles Times described what a “worst-case scenario” would look like…

A worst-case scenario would be a magnitude 7.7 earthquake that begins on the eastern end of the Garlock fault in eastern San Bernardino County and unlocks the fault to the southwest, bringing severe shaking to towns such as California City and Tehachapi; Edwards Air Force Base and Lancaster would see very strong shaking. Even Santa Clarita and the San Fernando Valley would see strong shaking, with much of the L.A. Basin and the San Gabriel Valley seeing moderate shaking — worse than what L.A. encountered last week.

No, that is definitely not a “worst-case scenario” for the Garlock fault, but without a doubt a major quake along the fault would be far more destructive than the earthquakes that we just witnessed on July 4th and 5th.

We were told that those earthquakes “did not cause much damage”, but now we are learning that those quakes actually “caused an estimated $200 million in damage”

The powerful earthquake that rocked California earlier this month caused an estimated $200 million in damage.

The cost of damage from the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that hit southeastern California on July 5 and foreshocks that came a day earlier was estimated by catastrophe modeling business Karen Clark & Company.

So if relatively minor earthquakes can cause that much economic damage, what would an earthquake 1,000 times more powerful do?

Because someday “the Big One” is going to hit the San Andreas fault, and it is going to release so much energy that the quakes that we witnessed this month won’t even be worth comparing to it. In fact, if a magnitude 9.1 earthquake were to hit southern California, it would be exactly 1000 times more powerful than the magnitude 7.1 quake that happened back on July 5th.

And even though it isn’t likely, scientists did admit that the large earthquakes that happened earlier this month could trigger a quake on the San Andreas fault

Scientists knew almost immediately that two large quakes that hit near Ridgecrest earlier this month did not come from the San Andreas. But ever since, they’ve been studying whether the quakes could cause more seismic activity from other faults — including the San Andreas nearly 100 miles away. A new calculation conducted in recent weeks at the U.S. Geological Survey showed that there’s an extremely remote chance the San Andreas could be triggered from the Ridgecrest quakes.

For a long time the United States had been spared, but on July 4th and 5th that suddenly changed.

Since that time, there have been more than 80,000 earthquakes in the state of California, and this is just the beginning of the shaking that is coming.

“California Is Being Overrun By Rodents” – And In This Case We Aren’t Talking About The Politicians

California is being hit by a “plague of rats”, and some commentators are suggesting that this is exactly what they deserve. In fact, some have even gone so far as to suggest that the name of Los Angeles should be formally changed to “Los Ratas” because the rat problem is so severe there. From Crescent City in the north all the way down to Chula Vista in the south, the rats are seemingly everywhere. There are millions of them, and the more poison that people put out the more they seem to multiply. The state of California has never seen anything like this before, and it is getting worse with each passing month.

At this point, things are already so bad that many are calling for Governor Newsom “to declare a public health emergency”

Pest control and public health experts are calling on California Gov. Gavin Newsom to declare a public health emergency over what they say is a sharp rise in the state’s rodent population.

“California is being overrun by rodents – and without immediate emergency action by state and local government, we face significant economic costs and risk a public health crisis,” said Carl DeMaio, chairman of Reform California, at a news conference Tuesday at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

It would be difficult to overstate the severity of this crisis. According to a recent survey of California pest control companies, rat service requests are up “as much as 60% in the last 12 months”.

If you have ever lived some place where you can literally hear rodents crawling in the walls and in the ceiling, then you know how deeply unsettling it can be.

And in some instances, rodents are literally starting to fall out of the ceilings in California. Just consider this example

Maggots and mice have fallen onto inmates’ dining tables at a California state prison where holes in the roof also allow rain and bird droppings to seep through and streak the walls, according to an inmate lawsuit that charges the state isn’t moving fast enough to repair deteriorating prisons.

California has committed $260 million over four years to repair leaking roofs and clear dangerous mold at more than two dozen deteriorating prisons where the cost of overdue maintenance is pegged at more than $1 billion.

A similar incident occurred at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Los Angeles last month while a customer was trying to order her dinner

Customers at a Los Angeles, Calif., Buffalo Wild Wings were in for a stomach-churning incident when a rat reportedly fell from the ceiling and landed on a table.

Alisha Norman, who was visiting Los Angeles from Texas, was getting ready to order at the chain restaurant when she heard something crawling above her, she told FOX35. Soon after, a rat fell and landed on a menu on the table.

This isn’t some third world country that we are talking about. The state of California is the wealthiest state in the entire country, and they are being absolutely overrun by rats.

Of course it certainly doesn’t help that many California cities have a major trash collection problem. The following was published by NBC Los Angeles earlier this year

Rat-infested piles of rotting garbage left uncollected by the city of Los Angeles, even after promises to clean it up, are fueling concerns about a new epidemic after last year’s record number of flea-borne typhus cases.

Even the city’s most notorious trash pile, located between downtown LA’s busy Fashion and Produce districts, continues to be a magnet for rats after it was cleaned up months ago. The rodents can carry typhus-infected fleas, which can spread the disease to humans through bacteria rubbed into the eyes or cuts and scrapes on the skin, resulting in severe flu-like symptoms.

As a result of all the trash and filth, even Los Angeles City Hall has become overrun by rats

Officials at Los Angeles’ City Hall are considering ripping all of the building’s carpets up, as rats and fleas are said to be running riot in its halls.

A motion was filed by Council President Herb Wesson on Wednesday to enact the much needed makeover amid a typhus outbreak in the downtown area.

Wesson said a city employee had contracted the deadly bacterial disease at work, and now he’s urging officials to investigate the ‘scope’ of the long-running pest problem at the council building.

When there is a huge problem like this that gets national attention, it is inevitable that California legislators will throw a lot more money at the problem, but that hasn’t worked so well in other cases.

For instance, two years ago New York Mayor Bill de Blasio launched a 32 million dollar program to fight the rat problem in his city, but that didn’t help. In fact, the number of rat complaints actually increased by 38 percent last year…

New York, like other metropolitan cities including Philadelphia and Chicago, faces a major rat problem.

According to the New York Times, rat complaints have risen from 12,617 in 2014 to 17,353 last year. That’s a 38% jump citywide — and comes even after Mayor Bill de Blasio allocated $32 million in 2017 to reduce the number of the rodents.

And things are particularly bad on the Upper West Side. They may have mountains of money over there, but they just can’t seem to keep the rats away

OpenTheBooks.com analyzed the number of calls for rats to 311 and found that, according to the Post, “the rats are running wild in this fancy area.”

A local publication called West Side Rag agreed that the Upper West Side has an extreme rat problem. “We’re like the Tom Brady of rats. All we do is win,” an article reads.

Despite all of our advanced technology, we cannot even handle the rats.

Somehow it seems fitting that the rat epidemic is most severe in the areas that are on the cutting edge of America’s social decline. In life, you can try to run from the consequences of your actions, but they will catch up with you eventually.

As I have discussed previously, under ideal conditions rats can multiply very, very rapidly. In fact, it has been estimated that two healthy rats could potentially become 482 million rats in just three years.

Perhaps Californians should just give up and let the rats take over. After all, they couldn’t possibly do any worse than the politicians in the state are currently doing.

This Isn’t Normal: 20 Earthquakes Of Magnitude 3.0 Or Greater Have Hit California Within The Last 24 Hours

It has been more than 10 days since southern California was hit by the two largest earthquakes that the state has experienced in decades, and yet the shaking refuses to stop. In fact, now northern California is joining the party. On Tuesday, San Francisco residents were greatly alarmed when a magnitude 4.3 earthquake rattled buildings all over the region. Thankfully not a lot of damage was done, but it has been a very long time since California has been hit by so many sizable earthquakes over such an extended period of time. According to the USGS, there have been 20 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater in the state of California within the last 24 hours. Of course most of the “experts” are assuring us that all of this seismic activity will soon settle down, but what if they are wrong?

The magnitude 4.3 earthquake that just hit the San Francisco Bay area definitely surprised a lot of the “experts”. According to one local resident, it felt “as if something had slammed against the side of our house”

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake rattled the San Francisco Bay Area Tuesday afternoon, and residents around the region widely reported feeling light shaking.

The quake struck at 1:11 p.m. with a depth of 7.46 miles and an epicenter in the East Bay, about 7.5 miles east of Blackhawk and 17 miles southeast of Concord, according to the United States Geological Survey.

“I felt it,” says Aimee Grove who lives in the East Bay. “But it just felt like a single jolt, as if something had slammed against the side of our house.”

And that quake was followed just four minutes later by an even larger earthquake in southern California

Four minutes later, a magnitude 4.5 quake hit near Ridgecrest, which, earlier this month, was rattled by a pair of massive temblors, including the most powerful shaker ( a magnitude 7.1) to strike California in 20 years.

And, then, at 1:24 p.m., the Bay Area felt another rumble, this time a magnitude 3.2, again centered near Blackhawk, an unincorporated community east of Oakland. It was originally reported as a magnitude 3.5.

Hopefully that magnitude 4.5 quake in Ridgecrest was just an aftershock of the very large earthquakes that we witnessed on July 4th and 5th and not a foreshock for another large seismic event that is still coming.

Overall, there have been 8,578 earthquakes of all magnitudes in California and Nevada over the last 7 days. Most of those quakes have been extremely small, and seismologists expected that we would see thousands of aftershocks after the two huge earthquakes earlier this month.

But someday we will see “the Big One”, and all of our lives will change in an instant.

One angle that I have not really talked about is what such a quake would mean for the U.S. economy. Today, the number one economic asset in the entire country is our real estate. As a whole, the U.S. housing market is worth more than 33 trillion dollars, and the real estate in the state of California accounts for about one-third of that entire total.

So what do you think that it will do to our economy if vast stretches of that real estate were suddenly destroyed by an earthquake of magnitude 9.0 or greater?

Unfortunately, earthquake insurance is not required in California, and approximately 90 percent of all homeowners in the state do not have it

About 90 percent of Californians have no earthquake insurance. Unlike homeowners’ insurance (which doesn’t cover earthquakes), it is not required to obtain a mortgage, and having the coverage roughly doubles the standard cost of insuring a home.

So when they lose their homes, they are really going to lose their homes. Since the vast majority of them don’t have insurance, there won’t be any money to rebuild even if they wanted to.

And of course it isn’t just residents of the state of California that we need to be concerned about. Farther north, Seattle has been rattled by 3 sizable earthquakes over the past week, and for a long time I have been warning that an enormous eruption of Mt. Rainier is coming.

The entire west coast of the United States sits along the Ring of Fire, and we have seen very unusual seismic activity all along the Ring of Fire in recent weeks. A recent article posted by the Big Wobble cited a few of the examples that we have seen over the past few days…

A magnitude 6.4 (reduced to a 6.2) – 25km N of Kandrian, Papua New Guinea is the 5th major quake to strike the planet in the last 4 days.

The quake struck 26 km (14 miles) north of Kandrian, in New Britain, at a depth of 33 km.

There were no immediate reports of damage.

Nearby Indonesia’s Moluccas islands were hit by scores of aftershocks on Monday after a magnitude 7.3 earthquake killed at least two people, prompting hundreds of people to flee their homes on Sunday.

Unfortunately, most people still seem to be under the illusion that things will soon return to “normal”.

But the truth is that whatever was considered “normal” in the past will not be “normal” anymore.

And I am not just talking about seismic activity.

The Shaking Won’t Stop: There Have Been More Than 10,000 Earthquakes In California And Nevada In The Last 7 Days

The ground is constantly shaking in southern California right now, and this has many concerned that another large earthquake may be coming. I have been keeping my eye on Cal Tech’s recent earthquake map, and as I write this article it says that there have been 10,053 earthquakes in California and Nevada over the past 7 days. I have never seen that number so high, and southern California is being hit by yet another new earthquake every few moments. Most of the earthquakes are happening out in the Ridgecrest area where we witnessed the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit on July 4th and the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that hit on July 5th. But as you can see from Cal Tech’s map, there has been a tremendous amount of seismic activity along the San Andreas fault as well. As I discussed the other day, the San Andreas fault is “locked and loaded” and it is way overdue for “the Big One”. Could it be possible that all of this earthquake activity is leading up to something really big?

And it isn’t just earthquakes that we need to be concerned about. According to Fox News, “geologists are nervously eyeing eight nearby volcanoes”…

California’s uncanny “earthquake pause” is over. It should have already had several “big ones” by now. All that pressure has to go somewhere. Now geologists are nervously eyeing eight nearby volcanoes. And why has Yellowstone supervolcano been acting so weird?

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has warned Southern California to expect more big earthquakes to come. Some, they say, may even be more powerful than those experienced in the past few days.

“(These quakes do) not make (the Big One) less likely,” local seismologist Lucy Jones told The Los Angeles Times. “There is about a one in 20 chance that this location will be having an even bigger earthquake in the next few days, that we have not yet seen the biggest earthquake of the sequence.”

Could you imagine the chaos that would ensue if a volcano suddenly erupted in California?

For the record, I am personally far more concerned about Mt. Rainier and the other volcanoes in the Northwest. But that is a topic for another article.

One angle that hasn’t really been talked about much is what would happen to California’s nuclear reactors if “the Big One” suddenly hit the San Andreas fault.

According to Natural News, there are currently five nuclear reactors right along the San Andreas fault and another one that is located directly along the coast…

A Natural News investigation into the geolocation of nuclear power facilities in California reveals that five nuclear facilities were built in close proximity to the San Andreas fault line, with some constructed right in the middle of earthquake zones that have up to a 50% chance of a severe earthquake every 30 years.

One nuclear power plant – the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant which produces 2,160 megawatts — was constructed on the coast, making it extremely vulnerable to the very same kind of ocean water surge that destroyed the Fukushima-Daiichi facility which suffered a 2011 meltdown in Japan.

Who was the genius that decided to build those reactors near the San Andreas fault?

The potential for an unprecedented nightmare is definitely there. If a magnitude 9.0 earthquake were to hit the San Andreas fault, it would be 707 times more powerful than the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that we just witnessed.

And we live at a time when our planet just continues to become even more unstable. According to NBC News, the number of “great” earthquakes between 2004 and 2014 was 265 percent higher than during the preceding ten year period…

The annual number of “great” earthquakes nearly tripled over the last decade, providing a reminder to Americans that unruptured faults like those in the northwest United States might be due for a Big One.

Between 2004 and 2014, 18 earthquakes with magnitudes of 8.0 or more rattled subduction zones around the globe. That’s an increase of 265 percent over the average rate of the previous century, which saw 71 great quakes, according to a report to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America this week in Vancouver, British Columbia.

But despite all of the unusual shaking that we have witnessed so far this century, the state of California hasn’t seen anything remotely close to the shaking that we have witnessed over the last 7 days.

Of course seismic activity is just one element of “the perfect storm” that is starting to unfold. According to the NOAA, the 12 month period ending in June was the wettest 12 month period in all of U.S. history. In fact, for three months in a row “the past 12-month precipitation record has hit an all-time high”. We just keep setting record after record, and the flooding in the middle of the country seems like it will never end. Millions of acres of prime farmland will not be used at all this year, and tens of millions of acres of crops are in extremely poor condition right now.

Meanwhile, a monster storm is heading directly for New Orleans, and on Wednesday it dumped “7 inches of rain within a three-hour period” on the city…

Lines of thunderstorms associated with a weather system that is predicted to develop into a hurricane by Friday struck New Orleans with as much as 7 inches of rain within a three-hour period Wednesday morning, forecasters said.

The city was engulfed with water, leaving residents to contend with swampy streets, overturned garbage cans and flooded vehicles. Some even paddled their way down the street in kayaks.

But the worst is still yet to come. The storm may become a hurricane before it makes landfall, and it is going to push the Mississippi River to one of the highest levels ever

The deluge may have just been a preview of more serious flooding situation from Tropical Storm or Hurricane Barry, which could affect the area into the weekend.

On Saturday, the Mississippi River is projected to see one of its highest crests on record in New Orleans, or the highest in seven decades.

A state of emergency has already been declared in Louisiana, and this could turn out to be the biggest disaster for the state since Hurricane Katrina.

Why is disaster after disaster suddenly pummeling the United States?

And could it be possible that this is just the beginning of our problems?

A time of great change is now upon us, and I have a feeling that what we have experienced so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

The Large Earthquakes That We Just Witnessed Should Be Taken As A Warning By Everyone Still Living In California

For years, scientists have been warning us that the San Andreas fault is “locked and loaded” and could potentially “unzip all at once”. Of course the two large earthquakes that we just witnessed in southern California were not along the San Andreas fault, and we should be extremely thankful for that. Because they happened in remote areas, those two quakes didn’t cause an enormous amount of damage, but they should still be taken as a warning. The magnitude 7.1 earthquake that rattled southern California on Friday night was felt in San Francisco, Las Vegas and northern Mexico simultaneously, but if a magnitude 9.0 earthquake suddenly hit the San Andreas fault it would be 707 times more powerful than the quake that we just witnessed, and it would happen in a very heavily populated area. Needless to say, the death and destruction would be unimaginable, and scientists keep telling us that southern California is way overdue for “the Big One” to strike.

So if you live in California right now, you have a decision to make.

Right now the crust of our planet is becoming exceedingly unstable, and the infamous Ring of Fire runs directly along the west coast of the United States.

Do you really want to keep pressing your luck? Yes, things had been rather quiet for the last couple of decades, but now California is starting to shake like a leaf. According to the Los Angeles Times, there have been at least 3,000 earthquakes in southern California since the 4th of July…

Since the Fourth, Caltech seismologists have detected at least 3,000 smaller earthquakes.

Those include 340 earthquakes with a magnitude greater than 3, 52 with a magnitude greater than 4, and six with a magnitude greater than 5, Hauksson said Saturday.

In total, this earthquake sequence is expected to generate about 34,000 aftershocks with a magnitude 1 or greater over the next six months, he said.

These days Caltech seismologist Lucy Jones has become “the go to expert” that everyone in the mainstream media wants to talk to about California earthquakes, and according to her there is a “nearly 11%” chance that southern California will get hit by another magnitude 7 or greater earthquake this week

The odds that Southern California will experience another earthquake of magnitude 7 or greater in the next week are now nearly 11%, according to preliminary estimates from seismologists.

And the chances that a quake will surpass the 7.1 temblor that struck near Ridgecrest on Friday night are roughly 8% to 9%, said Caltech seismologist Lucy Jones.

Of course Jones previously told us that there was only a very small chance that the magnitude 6.4 Ridgecrest earthquake was a foreshock for a larger event, and yet that is precisely what happened.

Ultimately, just like everyone else, Jones is essentially giving us her best guess. It may be an educated guess, but it is still a guess.

And she is also telling us that the aftershocks from the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that we just witnessed could “last for years”

Though such quakes would be more likely to occur in the next few days, the shaking could continue for quite some time.

“A magnitude 7 usually has aftershocks that last for years,” Jones said.

But aftershocks are not a reason to move out of the state of California.

Very small earthquakes are not going to change history, but when “the Big One” finally arrives, nothing will ever be the same again.

Earlier today, I came across a CNN headline which boldly declared that they had “debunked” the “myth” that a portion of southern California could one day go into the ocean.

Since I had just written about this, I eagerly clicked on the story to see the amazing “evidence” that they were using to “debunk” this “myth”. Unsurprisingly, this was the extent of the “evidence” that they offered

Here’s some comforting words for every California resident contemplating a permanent relocation.

The USGS calls the the idea that the state will be swept out to sea “absolutely impossible.”

What will continue to happen however, is the slow — about two-inches-per-year slow — northward movement of southwestern California toward Alaska, as it slides past central and eastern California.

Wow, that is quite a powerful argument they laid out there.

I assume that what is being referred to here is the idea that a portion of California could snap off the continent like a cookie and sink into the ocean, and of course that isn’t going to happen.

However, much of southern California is barely above sea level, and scientists have discovered that past earthquakes have caused the ground in the region to sink by as much as three feet. If such an earthquake happened today, vast stretches of southern California could suddenly go underwater as the Pacific Ocean came pouring in.

So instead of talking about southern California “going into the ocean”, perhaps it would be more accurate for us to talk about “the Pacific Ocean going into southern California”.

Cal State Fullerton professor Matt Kirby was one of the lead researchers on the groundbreaking study that alerted all of us to this possibility, and he says that if a large enough earthquake happened today “you would see seawater rushing in”

‘It´s something that would happen relatively instantaneously,’ Kirby said.

Probably today if it happened, you would see seawater rushing in.’

Southern California is essentially a time bomb, and it is absolutely riddled with fault lines. In fact, a Fox News article says that there are more than five hundred active fault lines in the region right now…

Like a major river, the San Andreas has many tributaries – faults big and small that fan out and fracture the state from top to bottom. As a result, most Californians live within thirty miles of an active fault line, of which there are more than five hundred.

So do you feel lucky?

Maybe you do, and that is fine.

But someday your luck will run out.

We have entered the time of “the perfect storm”, and major seismic events are going to become increasingly common. As sure as you are reading this article, someday the kind of earthquake that I am talking about will come to California, and the death toll will be off the charts.

Unfortunately, most Californians are not going to listen to the warnings. For example, one small business owner named Albert Adi told CNN that the risk of earthquakes is something he is willing to tolerate in order to live in a place “with beautiful weather and good job opportunities”

Ultimately, he said, it’s just one of the tradeoffs of living in a place with beautiful weather and good job opportunities.

“It’s the risk you have to accept by living here in Southern California,” he said.

“Hopefully,” he added, “everything will work out.”

Blind hope is not a strategy.

Today, California is on the cutting edge of everything that is wrong with America. The state is at the forefront of our moral, social and political decay, and the filth being produced by our entertainment industry has infected the entire globe.

Unless you have an overwhelming reason to stay, I don’t know why anyone would possibly want to live on the west coast at this point.

A day of reckoning for the state of California is approaching very rapidly, and you don’t want to be there when that day finally arrives.

Was The Magnitude 6.4 Quake ‘The Big One’? No, Scientists Assure Us A Much Larger California Earthquake Is Coming

We just witnessed the largest earthquake to hit the state of California in many years, and it definitely shook a lot of people up, but the truth is that it is not even worth comparing to “the Big One” that scientists assure us is coming someday. On Thursday morning, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake rocked portions of southern California and southern Nevada. The quake was so powerful that it was felt by people living in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It created giant cracks in major highways, it caused countless fires, and it was even picked up by a seismograph in Pennsylvania. We are talking about a major seismic event, and over the last 24 hours there have been an astounding 1,217 aftershocks. But as bad as this earthquake was, “the Big One” will be at least 100 times more powerful than what we just witnessed.

Hopefully we won’t see “the Big One” for quite a while, but right now we are being told that there is a strong possibility that we could see more large aftershocks as the rumbling in southern California continues…

California could be hit by another, even more powerful earthquake within days after southern California was rocked by its worst tremor in 20 years on Thursday, experts believe.

Geologists say yesterday’s 6.4-magnitude quake is likely to produce a forceful 5.5-strength aftershock and a series of smaller tremors – and could even prompt a larger one.

And we did actually see a magnitude 5.4 quake among the hundreds of aftershocks that have been relentlessly pounding the Ridgecrest area, but hopefully all of this shaking will start to subside very soon.

Unfortunately, scientists are telling us that the Ridgecrest quake didn’t “relieve pressure” or make “the Big One” any less likely. In fact, they continue to insist that we are way overdue for “the Big One” and that it is likely to be “125 times stronger” than the earthquake that we just witnessed…

Seismologists say the “Big One” would be 125 times stronger than Thursday’s earthquake and 44 times stronger than the 1994 Northridge earthquake, which killed 57 people and caused $49 billion in economic losses.

Of course that figure is just an estimate and it is based on a hypothetical magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

Theoretically, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake would release 7,943 times as much energy as the Ridgecraft earthquake, and that would easily be the most destructive natural disaster that we have ever seen in all of U.S. history up to this point.

And please don’t think that such a quake can’t happen. Scientists admit that the San Andreas fault has the potential to “move for many feet almost instantaneously”

The San Andreas is particularly feared because, in some sections, it will move for many feet almost instantaneously. A famous example was during the great 1906 magnitude 7.8 earthquake that destroyed San Francisco; at Point Reyes in Marin County, a fence that intersected the fault was suddenly cut in two, separated on each side by the San Andreas by 18 feet.

A similar sized earthquake of the San Andreas fault rupturing through the Palm Springs area would shatter the ground. If a couple had the misfortune of holding hands across the fault in a remote part of the desert near Desert Hot Springs when the Big One hits, they’d suddenly be separated by as much as 30 feet — almost the entire length of a city bus, USGS research geophysicist Kate Scharer said in 2017.

Someday it will happen, and it will be worse than anything that Hollywood has ever dreamed up.

A few years ago, a team of scientists discovered that previous earthquakes in the distant past caused the ground in southern California to sink by up to three feet in just a matter of moments. Their research led them to the conclusion that if a similar earthquake happened today, large portions of southern California would go into the Pacific Ocean “almost instantly”

The Big One may be overdue to hit California, but scientists near LA have found a new risk for the area during a major earthquake.

They claim that if a major tremor hits the area, it could plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly.

The discovery was made after studying the Newport-Inglewood fault, which has long been believed to be one of Southern California’s danger zones.

Cal State Fullerton professor Matt Kirby was one of the scientists that worked on that study, and he insists that if such a quake happened right now there wouldn’t be any time to evacuate

‘It´s something that would happen relatively instantaneously,’ Kirby said.

Probably today if it happened, you would see seawater rushing in.’

It is just a matter of time before such an event takes place, and hopefully it won’t happen too soon, but without a doubt our planet is becoming increasingly unstable and now is not a good time to be living in California.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the ability to forecast earthquakes like we can forecast the weather. But scientists all over the globe are in agreement that southern California is way overdue for “the Big One”. For example, I would like you to carefully consider the words of paleoseismologist Chris Goldfinger

“Most earthquake geologists rarely use that language about ‘being overdue,’ but we all agree,” Chris Goldfinger, a paleoseismologist at Oregon State University, previously told Business Insider.

But making forecasts about California’s mess of faults is challenging, Goldfinger added.

It’s like a game of Russian roulette, except the gun has 100 chambers rather than six, and several dozen guns instead of just one,” he said.

If you play Russian roulette enough times, eventually you will lose.

I don’t know anyone that has written about the coming great earthquake in California more frequently than I have, and it is absolutely critical that people understand that this is not a theoretical discussion. Scientists assure us that it is going to happen, and the only thing that is uncertain is the exact timing.

Hopefully the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that just hit Ridgecrest will wake some more people up, but of course most Californians will quickly forget it.

Unfortunately for them, the clock is ticking and one day disaster will strike without warning.

California Quake Storm: There Have Been 1,217 Earthquakes In The Ridgecrest Area Within The Last 24 Hours

What in the world is happening to southern California? Could it be possible that all of the shaking that we have seen over the past couple of days is leading up to something even bigger? I was curious, and so I went to the USGS website and I pulled up a map that is very tightly focused on the Ridgecrest area. According to that map, there have been 1,217 aftershocks in the Ridgecrest area in the last 24 hours. By the time you view the map, that number will inevitably have changed. Normally aftershocks begin to subside after a while, but right now they just keep hitting one after another. In fact, a rather sizable aftershock rattled Ridgecrest at the same moment when Ridgecrest Police Chief Jed McLaughlin was briefing reporters about the aftershocks

“We’re getting aftershocks every few minutes. There are hundreds of them,” Randy Baldwin, a geophysicist at the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado, said early on Friday. “There’s a chance of some larger ones, in the magnitude 5 range.”

One aftershock struck even as Ridgecrest Police Chief Jed McLaughlin briefed news reporters about the emergency response to the earthquake on Thursday afternoon PDT.

And it turns out that McLaughlin was exactly correct about the potential for a large aftershock in that range. A magnitude 5.4 aftershock shook nearby Searles Valley very early on Friday

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit near Searles Valley Friday morning, one day after a powerful 6.4 quake hit the region.

The quake is one in a series of aftershocks to hit the area since Thursday’s 6.4 earthquake. It struck at approximately 4:07 a.m. local time and was centered about 9.7 miles from west of Searles Valley and 10.8 miles north-northeast of Ridgecrest, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Those that follow my work on a regular basis know that I have repeatedly warned that our planet is becoming increasing unstable, and that the rise in seismic activity that we have seen elsewhere along the Ring of Fire would affect the west coast of North America as well.

And now it is happening right in front of our eyes.

The big earthquake in southern California has been getting all the attention, but we also just witnessed three very large earthquakes just off the coast of British Columbia. According to one report, they ranged in size from magnitude 4.6 to magnitude 5.6…

Three quakes shook the seabed off the coast of British Columbia overnight.

The quakes were centered about 200 miles south of Prince Rupert, well out to sea.

They ranged from 4.6 magnitude to 5.6 magnitude with first one hitting at 4:52 a.m. The other two quakes struck within 10 minutes.

Those are definitely very large quakes, and it is quite alarming that they happened in the immediate aftermath of the Ridgecrest earthquake.

But of course many of the “experts” are insisting that there is no link

“There’s no direct link between the California quake and the Cascadia region here, our Pacific Northwest faults, the stuff going on up in Alaska or offshore in Canada,” said Harold Tobin, director of the Pacific Northwest Siesmic Network.

Of course that guy doesn’t actually know if there is a link or not. He is just giving us his opinion as if it was fact, and it may or may not be accurate.

But what we do know is that right at this moment southern California is being slammed by another earthquake every few moments. And we also know that extremely unusual seismic activity had been happening in California for weeks prior to the Ridgecrest earthquake.

So the truth is that this Ridgecrest earthquake didn’t just come out of nowhere.

And scientists assure us that we are “overdue” for “the Big One” to hit southern California. Many residents of the state have been lulled into a false sense of security because things have been so quiet for the last couple of decades, but scientists tell us that it is only a matter of time before “the Big One” absolutely devastates the region.

We are being told that a magnitude 7.8 earthquake would be more than 125 times more powerful than the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that just hit Ridgecrest, and the amount of damage that such a quake along the San Andreas fault would cause is difficult to imagine right now.

But of course the truth is that “the Big One” could be far larger than that. Many believe that a quake greater than magnitude 9.0 is coming, and you do not want to be in southern California when that happens.

If you do find yourself in the middle of a severe earthquake, your main goal should be to try to survive. Here are some basic tips from the head of California’s Earthquake Authority

Glenn Pomeroy, head of California’s Earthquake Authority, said the quake is “an important reminder that all of California is earthquake country.”

“It’s important to know what to do to stay safe when the ground starts shaking — drop, cover and hold on,” said Pomeroy. “And to take other steps to prepare to survive and recover from damaging earthquakes, such as to retrofit homes built prior to 1980 and the advent of modern building codes, which may be more vulnerable to earthquake damage, and consider earthquake insurance to protect ourselves financially.”

Of course if a portion of southern California begins sliding into the ocean, “drop, cover and hold on” isn’t exactly going to do you a whole lot of good at that point.

All over the world we are witnessing very strange seismic events. Volcanoes that were dormant are roaring back to life, and other areas are being hit by unprecedented earthquakes.

Something very strange appears to be happening to the crust of our planet, and many believe that what we have witnessed so far is just the beginning.

1,000 Earthquakes In 3 Weeks? Oh Yeah, Those Living Near The San Andreas Fault Definitely Have Reason To Be Concerned

In a key seismic zone approximately 40 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, there have been more than 1,000 earthquakes since May 25th. Needless to say, it would be quite alarming for the entire state of California to experience more than 1,000 significant earthquakes in just 3 weeks, but in this case we are talking about an area that is “less than a square mile” in size. And what makes this even more concerning is that all of these earthquakes are happening in a location that is very close to the San Andreas Fault. Could it be possible that the San Andreas Fault is about to wake up in a major way? I don’t know about you, but if I was living in southern California right now I would find this sort of news to be extremely unsettling

A flurry of more than 1,000 small earthquakes has rattled Southern California over the past three weeks.

The quakes have occurred in an area covering less than a square mile in San Bernardino and Riverside counties roughly 40 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

The United States Geological Survey map depicting the uptick in seismic activity shows a thick collection of dots, a rather unsettling sight.

Of course it is perfectly normal for California to experience earthquakes. They happen on a daily basis, and normally they aren’t anything to be too concerned about.

But to have this many earthquakes concentrated in an extremely limited area is definitely unusual. According to USGS science advisor Ken Hudnut, this current earthquake swarm is “a little different than what we’ve seen before”

“In detail, if you zoom in on it and look at the pattern and how it’s evolving in time, it’s a little different than what we’ve seen before,” he says. “We get these swarms, but we don’t see exact repeats. Obviously, it’s very disruptive to the people who are feeling these earthquakes. We’re watching this activity closely.”

Normally, earthquake swarms subside after a certain period of time. But so far there are no signs that this swarm is going to end. Instead, we just keep seeing quake after quake.

That doesn’t mean that a major event is imminent, but without a doubt there are good reasons to be concerned about what is happening. As geophysicist Andrea Llenos recently explained, every small earthquake increases the likelihood that there will be more seismic activity, and she stressed that we “do know a big earthquake is going to happen” someday…

But “any time you have an increase in the number of small earthquakes,” according to Andrea Llenos, a research geophysicist with the US Geological Survey, “you’re likely to increase the likelihood of a slightly larger earthquake happening.”

“I would redefine normal as: You should still be prepared for a large earthquake,” Llenos told the paper. “We do know a big earthquake is going to happen.”

Californians have been hearing that the “Big One” is going to hit the San Andreas Fault for a very long time.

We even had a major Hollywood movie starring the Rock made about such a quake, but it still hasn’t happened yet.

But one day it will. In fact, the chair of UCLA’s Civil and Environmental Engineering department insists that such a quake is “an existential threat to our economy, our ability to live here”

“There is no fault that is more likely to break [in California] than the San Andreas Fault,” says Jonathan P. Stewart, professor and chair of UCLA’s Civil and Environmental Engineering department and an expert in earthquakes. “Small local earthquakes—the Northridge earthquake, the San Fernando earthquake—they can kill people in the dozens, they can have freeways coming down, they can affect dams, and all of that is bad,” he says. “But it doesn’t really pose an existential threat to our economy, our ability to live here.” A large earthquake on the San Andreas Fault, on the other hand, he says, could create a devastating threat to humanity, infrastructure, and the economy, with implications that extend nationally and even globally.

As ominous as that sounds, the truth is that Stewart may actually be understating the threat that Californians are facing.

A few years ago, a team of scientists conducted a major study which found that major quakes in the distant past had caused “part of the coastline south of Long Beach to drop by one-and-a-half to three feet”

Scientists from California State University Fullerton and the United States Geological Survey found evidence the older quakes caused part of the coastline south of Long Beach to drop by one-and-a-half to three feet.

Today that could result in the area ending up at or below sea level, said Cal State Fullerton professor Matt Kirby, who worked with the paper’s lead author, graduate student Robert Leeper.

“It’s something that would happen relatively instantaneously,” Kirby said. “Probably today if it happened, you would see seawater rushing in.”

In other words, scientists are telling us that if such a quake happened today we could see areas along the California coastline go into the ocean permanently.

I don’t know how much clearer I can make it.

We have entered a time when dramatic changes are happening to our planet, and this is something that I have been writing about for a long time. And even though much of the rest of the Ring of Fire is shaking like a leaf right now, most of those living along the California coastline have been lulled into a false sense of security because there has not been a massive quake on the west coast for many, many years.

But scientists assure us that the San Andreas Fault is loaded and ready to spring at any moment, and they have also warned us that the entire fault zone “could unzip all at once”.

Let’s hope that day is delayed for as long as possible, but if the hundreds of earthquakes that have happened in recent weeks are any indication, time could be running out a lot faster than most of us had anticipated.

Christian school raided by California government as religious freedom concerns cloud future

(ETH) A Christian boarding school run by Teen Rescue in Northern California faces the possibility of closing after it was raided by state investigators earlier this year. The head of the school claims that its First Amendment rights, as well as parental rights, are being violated. River View Christian Academy (RVCA), which serves to help troubled teens from across the U.S., has faced pressure from the Department of Social Services for over a decade over claims that it operates as an “unlicensed community care facility.”

Although the school had maintained through the years that schools are exempt from community care facility regulations, a law passed in 2016 requires many alternative boarding schools in the state to attain Community Care Licensing. But in order to attain that licensing, the school fears that it would not be able to uphold its rules reflecting traditional Christian teaching on marriage and sexuality. (Read More…)

Valedictorian Thanks ‘Alcoholic Teacher’ And Negligent Counselor For Teaching Her To ‘Fend For Herself’

(Zero Hedge) A California valedictorian went off script during her commencement address, slamming an alcoholic teacher who was ‘escorted out of school’ and a guidance counselor who she thanked for ‘letting me fend for myself’ due to being ‘always unavailable to my parents and I despite appointments.’

San Ysidro High School senior Nataly Buhr opened her June 6 speech in typical fashion – thanking her parents for their “endless love,” acknowledging the memories shared with her friends, and mentioning a handful of teachers for being ‘invested in the students.’

Then, Buhr went scorched earth.

Buhr began by unloading on her counselor, to whom she said: “Thanks for teaching me to fend for myself: You were always unavailable to my parents and I, despite appointments. … You expressed to me your joy in knowing that one of your students was valedictorian, when you had absolutely no role in my achievements.

She then slammed the office staff, saying “Thank you for teaching me how to be resourceful. Your negligence to inform me of several scholarships until the day before they were due potentially caused me to miss out on thousands of dollars. When applying for a work permit, you repeatedly turned me away, despite confirming with my employer and my parents that all of my paperwork was filled out correctly. I’ve had to escalate issues with staff to an assistant principal various times to reach any sort of solution.”

And finally – “To the teacher that was regularly intoxicated during class this year, thank you for using yourself to teach these students about the dangers of alcoholism. Being escorted out of school left a lasting impression,” said Buhr, receiving applause from the audience. (Read More…)

700 Quakes Hit A Key California Seismic Zone, And Tar Is Literally Bubbling Up Through The Streets Of Los Angeles

Scientists are quite “concerned” about the huge earthquake swarm that has been shaking southern California in recent weeks, and right at this moment bubbling tar is literally coming up through the streets in one section of Los Angeles. None of this means that a major seismic event is imminent, but it is certainly not a good sign either. We have been tracking quite a bit of unusual shaking along the Ring of Fire in recent months, and scientists assure us that it is just a matter of time before “the Big One” hits southern California. And if you follow my work on a regular basis, then you already know that I am extremely concerned about the potential for major seismic activity along the west coast. So when I came across a San Diego Union-Tribune article entitled “Southern California earthquake swarm takes an unexpected turn, and that’s reason to worry”, it definitely got my attention. According to that article, there have been “more than 700 earthquakes” in the Fontana seismic zone over the past few weeks…

There have been more than 700 earthquakes recorded in the Fontana area since May 25, ranging from magnitude 0.7 to magnitude 3.2, recorded Wednesday at 5:20 p.m., according to Caltech staff seismologist Jen Andrews.

That is certainly a lot of earthquakes, but is this sort of activity unusual?

Well, according to one scientist, this is the “most prolific swarm” to hit that area “in the past three decades”

The likelihood of a larger seismic event, given so many quakes over such an extended period, is higher than normal, the scientist said.

“People ought to be concerned,” said Hauksson. “This is probably the most prolific swarm in that area of the Fontana seismic zone that we’ve seen in the past three decades.”

Once again, I want to stress that all of this activity does not mean that a major earthquake is about to happen.

But one day it is coming. In fact, scientists have told us that one day the entire San Andreas fault could “could unzip all at once”. And when that day finally arrives, there might not be any warning at all.

If you live in California, you should be prepared for earthquakes to occur at all times, and that means taking some reasonable precautions

In any home in seismically risky areas of California, experts recommend removing heavy objects around beds, strapping bookcases and dressers to walls, anchoring flat-screen televisions to walls, installing toddler safety latches on kitchen cabinets, and ensuring frames are attached to walls with quake-friendly hooks.

Hopefully there will not be a major quake any time soon, but over the past few days another ominous sign has made news.

According to one local news report, “bubbling tar” is actually coming up through the streets near the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles…

And on Saturday, more seepage. Enough to draw the interests of tourists and residents alike.

CBS2’s Jake Reiner said tourists and residents alike have been coming to the area marveling at the bubbling tar.

Once again, this might be nothing.

But one local resident admitted that he had “never seen this before”, and apparently there is a very strong odor coming out of the ground

“You see a little bit of tar oozing up between the pavement,” Kogan says, “all over the neighborhood. That’s not unusual but this seems to be flow tar. I’ve never seen this before.”

Not to mention the constant hissing sound coming from the ground — it’s methane.

“I can smell it. I thought a car broke its oil pan out here,” says Patrick Myer.

I don’t know about you, but if you can literally hear methane coming out of the ground and bubbling tar is starting to come up through the streets, perhaps that is a sign that it is time to consider moving somewhere else.

But of course the truth is that our entire planet is becoming increasingly unstable. On Monday, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck near Cleveland. The following comes from CNN

A preliminary magnitude-4.0 earthquake was reported Monday about 20 miles northeast of Cleveland, in or around Lake Erie, the US Geological Survey said.

The earthquake, measuring 3.1 miles in depth, was reported just before 11 a.m. local time north-northwest of the city of Eastlake.

“Did you feel that rumble this morning Cleveland? Well if you missed it, we caught this morning’s earthquake on multiple #OHGO cameras. Check it out! #Clevelandreallyrocks,” the Ohio Department of Transportation tweeted, along with a collection of traffic videos showing the moment the quake hit.

And of course Cleveland is not very far from the New Madrid fault zone that I have been writing articles about again and again.

On the other side of the world, a huge volcano in Indonesia also erupted on Monday

A huge column of ash was blasted almost five miles into the sky above the Indonesian island of Sumatra after an active volcano erupted.

Mount Sinabung blew for nine minutes on Sunday, causing panic among the island’s residents.

Indonesian officials warned that further volcanic activity was possible, although the volanco’s alert level remained unchanged.

Major seismic events are happening so frequently now that it is really hard to keep up with them all.

But it is very important not to become numb to what is happening. Something strange really is happening to our planet, and many believe that it is going to get a lot worse.

As for California, scientists keep telling us that “the Big One” is way overdue, and when it finally arrives it could be a history altering event.

According to one team of scientists, an extremely large earthquake could potentially “plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly”. Such an event would be far worse than anything that any Hollywood earthquake movie ever envisioned, and let us pray that nothing like that happens any time soon.

California And Nevada Have Been Hit By 240 Earthquakes Over The Last 24 Hours

The unusual shaking on the west coast continues to intensify.  As you can see from this map, 240 earthquakes have struck the states of California and Nevada over the last 24 hours.  Yes, the west coast gets hit by quakes every day, but this is definitely an unusually high number.  Fortunately, most of the earthquakes have been very small, but a couple of them were greater than magnitude 3.0.  The following comes from the Los Angeles Times

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake was felt in parts of Southern California on Sunday afternoon, one in a series of quakes to hit the Riverside County area.

The latest quake occurred at 4:36 p.m. and was centered on Glen Avon, south of Fontana. The seismic activity continued into Monday morning with dozens of new small quakes.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quakes were felt across swaths of the Inland Empire, a region that has had hundreds of small quakes over the weekend, including one that registered a magnitude of 3.1.

This comes during a stretch of time when there has been a heightened level of seismic activity along the west coast. For much more on this please see my previous article entitled “California Is Shaken By More Than 80 Earthquakes As Chile Is Hit By The Largest Quake In 12 Years”.  So when I got this latest news, I wanted to get this update out to you all right away.

Hopefully it will not happen immediately, but at some point there will be a history-altering earthquake along the southern California coastline that will cause death and destruction on a scale that most of us don’t even want to think about right now.

In fact, scientists have specifically warned us that someday a colossal earthquake “could plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly”.

Unfortunately, most California residents will not care about these warnings until it is too late to do anything about them.

California Is Shaken By More Than 80 Earthquakes As Chile Is Hit By The Largest Quake In 12 Years

Very early on Sunday morning, a massive 8.0 magnitude earthquake struck a sparsely populated area of Peru. As you will see below, it was the largest earthquake to hit Peru in 12 years, and other areas of “the Ring of Fire” experienced unusual shaking afterwards. Here in the United States, there were dozens of detectable earthquakes in the state of California on Sunday, and a lot of people are concerned about what all of these small earthquakes could mean. More than 80 percent of the world’s earthquakes happen within the Ring of Fire, and many scientists believe that shaking along one section of the Ring of Fire can put stress on other portions. Of course we have been told over and over again that California is way overdue for a “Big One”, and we know that it is coming someday. Let us just hope that it can be delayed for as long as possible.

Any major earthquake along the Ring of Fire is reason for concern, and the one that hit Peru on Sunday was definitely very unusual. According to CBS News, the magnitude 8.0 earthquake was deep enough that it did not cause much damage…

A powerful magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck a remote part of the Amazon jungle in Peru early Sunday, collapsing buildings and knocking out power to some areas but causing only one reported death. The quake struck at 2:41 a.m. and was centered in a vast nature preserve 57 miles east of the small town of Yurimaguas.

Helping limit damage was the earthquake’s depth, at 70 miles below the surface, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Earthquakes that are close to the surface generally cause more destruction.

But just because it didn’t cause that much damage does not mean that it wasn’t extremely powerful.

In fact, CNN is reporting that it was the strongest earthquake to hit Peru in 12 years and that it “was felt in several regions of the country”…

The earthquake was the strongest in Peru in 12 years, Vizcarra said.

Peru’s National Emergency Operations Center tweeted that the earthquake was felt in several regions of the country, and monitoring continues.

Is it just a coincidence that California was hit by dozens of earthquakes in the aftermath?

I have the USGS website up right now, and it is telling me that there have been more than 80 earthquakes in California within the last 24 hours. By the time that you look at the same map, the numbers will inevitably have changed, but hopefully you will still be able to see that most of the recent shaking has been in southern California.

And whenever we see a lot of shaking in southern California, that should definitely raise a red flag.

As I have shared in previous articles, one scientific study came to the conclusion that one day an absolutely enormous earthquake “could plunge large parts of California into the sea almost instantly”

Someday it will happen.

It is just a matter of time.

There have also been an unusually large number of small earthquakes off the coast of Washington state lately, and this is something that Mac Slavo discussed in one of his recent articles

Earthquakes that cannot be felt are being recorded in record numbers just south of Seattle, Washington. Quakes 20 miles below our feet are slowly releasing, and have been since early April.

For the first time since 2011, three distinct zones in the Pacific Northwest have been “going off” all at once. According to King 5 News, scientists say that the theory is that the sub-ducting ocean plate is being stretched like taffy in the heat that is the mantle of the earth. “Any signal you get is interesting,” said Tim Melbourne, a who runs the Northwest Geodetic Array, which is based at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

“If you have something out in the dark, and you know it’s dangerous, you know it’s menacing, and every now and then you get a flash of light from it. Any flash of light doesn’t tell you a lot, but you piece them all together and you can start to put together all the angles, and you can start to see the dragon, and it’s a big dragon,” Melbourne said.

Hopefully all of this unusual activity will turn out to be nothing. But without a doubt we do live at a time when our planet is becoming increasingly unstable, and this has important implications for all of us.

After I wrote the last sentence, I got up to change the song on my music player, and as I scrolled through the selections one of the choices that came up was “City of Refuge” by a group called 4Him. Considering what I am writing about, I thought that was quite a strange “coincidence”.

For the moment, life in the state of California continues as normal, but scientists assure us that one day a history-changing earthquake will hit the state and they have repeatedly warned us that the San Andreas fault “could unzip all at once”.

When that day finally arrives, it will be far worse than any Hollywood movie has ever imagined, and life in America will never be the same again.

Wealthy Elitists Freak Out As Hordes Of Homeless People Take Over Their Neighborhoods All Over The West Coast

The elite are very “tolerant” of the homeless until they start showing up in their own neighborhoods. Even though the mainstream media keeps telling us that the U.S. economy is “booming”, the number of Americans living on the streets continues to grow very rapidly, and this is particularly true in our major west coast cities. More than half a million Americans will sleep on the streets of our cities tonight, and they need help, care and shelter. Sadly, as economic conditions deteriorate that number is likely to double or even triple. Of course many among the elite are all in favor of doing something for the homeless, as long as they don’t have to be anywhere around them.

For example, let’s talk about what is going on in Los Angeles. No city on the west coast has a bigger problem with homelessness than L.A. does, and many in the homeless population enjoy camping out on the beautiful beaches in the L.A. area at night.

But of course many of the elite that paid millions of dollars for beachfront property are not too thrilled about this. Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten was a key symbol of anti-establishment rebellion in the 1970s, but now he is freaking out because homeless people are making life very difficult for him and his wife in Venice Beach, and what he recently told Newsweek’s Paula Froelich is making headlines all over the nation

He told her the homeless situation in his swanky LA neighborhood is so bad that thieves are tearing the bars from the windows of his multimillion-dollar home, lobbing bricks, setting up unsightly tent cities and littering the beach with syringes.

“A couple of weeks ago I had a problem,” the former punk prince opined. “They came over the gate and put their tent inside, right in front of the front door. It’s like . . . the audacity. And if you complain, what are you? Oh, one of the establishment elite? No, I’m a bloke that’s worked hard for his money and I expect to be able to use my own front door.”

It is more than just a little bit ironic that a man that used drugs, sex and rock and roll to shoot to global fame now sounds like a tired old crank that just wants to get the hippies off of his front lawn.

And he also says that the beach in front of his home is almost unusable because of all the needles and human poop in the sand

Rotten added of the punks: “They’re aggressive, and because there’s an awful lot of them together they’re gang-y. And the heroin spikes . . . You can’t take anyone to the beach because there’s jabs just waiting for young kids to put their feet in — and poo all over the sand.”

Well, Johnny might as well become accustomed to his new neighbors, because the situation is only going to get worse as our national homelessness crisis intensifies.

In Los Angeles, the number of homeless people that have died has risen 76 percent over the past five years, and this has happened during supposedly “good economic times”.

So how bad will things get when the economy really starts going downhill?

Up the coast in San Fransisco, some wealthy residents are fighting tooth and nail to keep a proposed homeless shelter out of their wealthy neighborhood. The following comes from CBS News

Some San Francisco residents are turning to crowdfunding to raise money to fight a proposed homeless shelter in their wealthy neighborhood. As of Monday morning, the effort had raised over $80,000 of its $100,000 goal.

Calling itself “Safe Embarcadero for All,” the organizer is appealing to residents of South Beach, Rincon Hill, Bayside Village, East Cut and Mission Bay, saying the money will be directed to a legal fund to pay for efforts to fight the homeless shelter. San Francisco Mayor London Breed has sponsored legislation to fast-track the building of the Navigation Center, which would house 200 homeless people a stone’s throw from Google’s San Francisco offices and Gap’s headquarters.

How wonderfully “tolerant” of them, eh?

Of course it is hard to blame them. The streets of San Francisco are littered with thousands upon thousands of used syringes, and the number of official complaints about human feces in the streets is going up with each passing year.

But instead of changing course, it looks like San Francisco officials will probably extend their free syringe program

San Francisco officials are debating if they should continue a needle exchange program that has left city streets littered with hazardous waste.

We have made an uncomfortable observation on social media: Thousands of needles are scattered on city streets, most likely came the Department of Public Health’s needle exchange program.

San Francisco Board of Supervisors expects to approve a seven-year extension of the exchange program, could cost taxpayers a whopping $26 million.

Overall, the city handed out 5.8 million free syringes in 2018, and a large number of those were simply thrown on to the streets when addicts were done using them.

Up in Seattle, neighborhood after neighborhood has been taken over by homeless encampments, and many residents are saying enough is enough

In the past two weeks, Seattle Is Dying has garnered 38,000 shares on Facebook and nearly 2 million views on YouTube. The report has clearly resonated with anxious, fearful, and increasingly angry Seattle residents. Exhausted by a decade of rising disorder and property crime—now two-and-a-half times higher than Los Angeles’s and four times higher than New York City’s—Seattle voters may have reached the point of “compassion fatigue.” According to the Seattle Times, 53 percent of Seattle voters now support a “zero-tolerance policy” on homeless encampments; 62 percent believe that the problem is getting worse because the city “wastes money by being inefficient” and “is not accountable for how the money is spent,” and that “too many resources are spent on the wrong approaches to the problem.” The city council insists that new tax revenues are necessary, including a head tax on large employers, but only 7 percent of Seattle voters think that the city is “not spending enough to really solve the problem.” For a famously progressive city, this is a remarkable shift in public opinion.

With all of the money that they have, you would think that the major cities on the west coast would be showing the rest of the nation how to deal with homelessness, but instead things continue to get worse with each passing year.

And of course what we have seen so far is just the beginning. During the next recession, the homelessness crisis will be far, far worse than it is today.

America should not have more than half a million people living in the streets, but we do, and those in power do not seem to have any solutions.

New Census Numbers Reveal Americans Are Steadily Migrating West And South – And Away From High Tax Blue States

The U.S. Census Bureau has just released their annual report on how the U.S. population is shifting, and there are some very clear patterns in the data. If you look at this Census Bureau map, you will see lots of purple (areas where the population is growing) in the west and the south, and you will see lots of orange (areas where the population is declining) in the north and the east. Of course this is a continuation of a pattern that we have been seeing for decades. Given the ability to choose, many Americans would rather live in areas of the country that are warm and sunny, and that makes a lot of sense. But that is not the only pattern that we see in the data.

From July 1, 2017 to July 1, 2018 seven of the ten counties that had the largest percentage increase in population were either in Texas or Florida

McKenzie County, ND: 7.1 percent
Williams County, ND: 5.9 percent
Comal County, TX: 5.4 percent
Kaufman County, TX: 4.7 percent
Brunswick County, NC: 4.6 percent
Walton County, FL: 4.5 percent
Midland County, TX: 4.3 percent
Osceola County, FL: 4.3 percent
St. Johns County, FL: 4.2 percent
Hood County, TX: 4.1 percent

Texas and Florida do not have a state income tax, and so that could help to explain these numbers.

The top two counties on the list are both in North Dakota, and a lot of people are being drawn up there for energy industry jobs. McKenzie County produces more oil than any other county in the state, and even though it can get bitterly cold, many workers find the very high wages paid by the industry very alluring.

Meanwhile, some of the biggest cities in the entire nation are shrinking.

New York City is losing people for the first time in a decade, and the population of Chicago has now fallen for four years in a row

The Chicago area’s population declined for the fourth year in a row in 2018, according to the latest Census Bureau estimates.

There were 22,000 fewer residents in the 14-county metro area than in 2017, a drop of 0.2 percent, and the first time since 2010 that the area’s population has slipped below 9.5 million people. Cook County, which accounts for 55 percent of the population in the metro area, lost 24,000 residents.

Considering all of the gang violence, the absolutely insane politicians and the oppressive levels of taxation, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why people would want to leave the Windy City.

I guess the real mystery is why so many people would want to stay.

According to a report put out by North American Moving Services, Illinois is actually the top state for outbound moves, and Idaho is actually the top state for inbound moves…

Every year, roughly 14% of the US population moves from one state to another, according to Census Bureau data. But after a careful analysis of the data from 2018, North American Moving Services published its latest report on American migration patterns…and it contained some surprising conclusions.

For example, while Illinois was once again the top state for outbound moves (thanks, we imagine, to its dysfunctional state government, high taxes and massively underfunded pensions), the top state for inbound moves was…Idaho?

A quick glance at the data reveals a familiar pattern: Americans are leaving high-tax blue states in favor of red states with low taxes and low cost of living.

Hopefully the secret about how great Idaho is won’t get around too widely, because all the people from California that are moving up here have already driven home prices through the roof.

Another city that is seeing people leave in droves is Baltimore

“Thousands of people are fleeing the city each year as total population plummets to 100-year lows. There are about 46,000 vacant rowhomes scattered throughout the area, or roughly 15% of the housing stock is dormant. On a per capita basis, the city has the highest rate of homicides per 100,000 in the country. Opioids from Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland Medical Center continue to flood the poorest of neighborhoods, leaving the African American communities in a perpetual state of addiction, along with the need for constant government assistance programs. With the local economy basically a black market, gangs roam the streets like a third world country.”

I remember going to Orioles games as a kid, and at that time Baltimore was still somewhat of a vibrant city.

But now it is a rotting, decaying, drug-infested nightmare that is slowly dying right in front of our eyes.

And of course we continue to see an exodus from the California coastline, and one of the big reasons for that is because housing has gotten way too expensive

A full 43 percent of Californian voters, and an astounding 61 percent of those aged 18 to 34, feel they can’t afford to live in the state, according to a recent Quinnipiac University poll. And over three-quarters of voters agree that there’s a “housing crisis.”

The median value for a house in the Golden state is about $550,000, according to real-estate website Zillow. That’s more than twice the national median.

Of course there are many other reasons to leave California as well. For much more on that, please see my previous article entitled “Nobody Does It Better: The Amount Of Human Feces On San Francisco Streets Is Going Up Every Single Year”.

Before I wrap up this article, I want to also say a bit about retirement migration.

As the Baby Boomers retire, millions of them are moving from cold weather states to warm weather states.

For ages, the state of Florida has been the number one destination for retirees, but now that has apparently changed. According to Fox Business, this is the very first year that New Mexico is on top of the list…

This was the first year New Mexico topped the list. Forty-three percent of moves to New Mexico were related to retirement, while 60 percent of people moving there were between the ages of 55 and 74. The cost of living in the state is 3 percent less than the national average, while income taxes are low.

I never would have guessed that.

Perhaps the cost of housing is low and that is why a lot of retirees from California see it as a good option.

And yes, lots of Baby Boomers are still retiring in Florida, and the state is still number two on the list

While it did not make the top spot this year, Florida ranked second with 39 percent of moves into the state being retirement related. Aside from the warm weather and beach communities, Floridians are not subject to state income taxes.

In addition to everything that I have just shared, many Americans are migrating across the country for more ominous reasons. They can see the direction this nation is headed, and they want to be positioned for what America is going to be like in the coming years.

The fabric of our society is unraveling right in front of our eyes, and a lot of people just want somewhere safe, secure and sane to raise their families.

Unfortunately that is not so easy to find anymore, and the social decay that is eating away at our country like cancer is spreading a little bit more with each passing day.

Nobody Does It Better: The Amount Of Human Feces On San Francisco Streets Is Going Up Every Single Year

Sometimes the best metaphors come from real life. Today, San Francisco has eclipsed Los Angeles and has become the most important city in America’s most heavily populated state. It is the central hub of our tech industry, in many ways it is one of the epicenters of our national moral decay, and the most powerful Democrat in the entire country calls it her home. So somehow it seems appropriate that the city is literally covered in human feces, and the problem is getting worse with each passing year.

In 2011, there were 5,547 reported incidents of human feces found on the streets of San Francisco, and by 2018 that figure had risen to 28,084. The following numbers originally come from the San Francisco Department of Public Works

2011: 5,547
2012: 6,338
2013: 8,793
2014: 10,644
2015: 13,326
2016: 18,276
2017: 20,668
2018: 28,084

And the important thing to remember is that these numbers only represent “reported incidents”. As Business Insider has noted, the true amount of human feces on the streets “is likely even higher”…

Notably, this is a chart of only documented reports — the actual amount of feces on San Francisco’s streets is likely even higher than these statistics suggest.

“I will say there is more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen growing up here,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed told NBC in a 2018 interview. “That is a huge problem, and we are not just talking about from dogs — we’re talking about from humans.”

If all of this crap is a metaphor, would could it be a metaphor for?

One of the things that initially came to my mind is that it could be a political metaphor. San Francisco gave us Nancy Pelosi, and as Speaker of the House she is currently the most powerful Democrat in the entire nation. And without a doubt, she certainly represents an ideology that is taking America straight down the crapper.

But of course the Democrats certainly don’t have a monopoly on corruption. Here in Idaho, there are prominent Republicans that are giant moral sleazebags, and even the “good conservatives” won’t say anything about the corruption because they are concerned about the political ramifications.

San Francisco’s human feces problem could also be a metaphor for our tech industry. In particular, social media giants such as Facebook and Twitter have been hit by scandal after scandal in recent years, and the extreme censorship that they have been hitting us with has been absolutely nauseating. So it would definitely not be too much of a stretch to equate the current state of the tech industry with a giant pile of crap.

Last but not least, could it be possible that all of this poop is a metaphor for the moral decay that is emanating out of San Francisco? Certainly Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. are playing starring roles in our national moral decay as well, but there is something about San Francisco that seems to attract the worst of the worst.

As I noted the other day, San Francisco handed out 5.8 million free syringes in 2018 alone. And in a recent article by John Stossel we are told that addicts can shoot up in full public view and the police won’t even do anything about it…

San Francisco is a pretty good place to “hang out with a sign.” People are rarely arrested for vagrancy, aggressive panhandling or going to the bathroom in front of people’s homes. In 2015, there were 60,491 complaints to police, but only 125 people were arrested.

Public drug use is generally ignored. One woman told us, “It’s nasty seeing people shoot up — right in front of you. Police don’t do anything about it! They’ll get somebody for drinking a beer but walk right past people using needles.”

Each day in San Francisco, an average of 85 cars are broken into.

Could you imagine trying to raise young children in an environment like that?

At this point, addicts are even shooting up in the bathrooms of San Francsico’s public libraries

In San Francisco, dozens, sometimes hundreds, of homeless people like Martinez come to the libraries daily. Around the Bay Area, that number runs into the thousands.

This can be a problem, when someone who’s mentally ill rants in the aisles or addicts shoot up in the bathroom. But many libraries around the nation have learned to keep those issues to a minimum — thanks largely to a pioneering program in San Francisco that stationed a social worker on-site to help the desperate, instead of just keeping a lid on them with police interventions.

It has been said that “as California goes, so goes the nation”. So you may be able to take solace in the fact that these things are not happening in your area yet, but as our nation continues to go downhill it is just a matter of time before virtually everywhere is just like San Francisco.

The only way that we are going to take our country back is if we stand up and do something. Unfortunately, there is so much apathy among good people out there these days, and meanwhile there is a tremendous amount of passion among those that would like to take America even further down the crapper.

You are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem. And unfortunately there is no time to waste because our society is deteriorating a little bit more with each passing day.
