Two Russian warships have docked in northern Iran for a series of naval training exercises with the Islamic Republic, according to Persian-language reports translated by the CIA’s Open Source Center.

The two Russian ships docked in Iran’s Anzali port on Sunday and will hold “joint naval exercises during the three-day stay of the warships in Iran,” according to a Persian-language report in Iran’s state-controlled Fars News Agency.

“The [Russian] warships, Volgodonsk and Makhachkala docked in Anzali Port [near the Caspian Sea], in the fourth naval zone, on the afternoon of 9 August,” the report says.

  1. The only profitable thing we may do with all of these countries with dictatorships is to remain completely neutral.
Mind our own business. Do not interfere in any way with their country period.
If that means withdrawing all financial support and business with that country so be it.
Take your ball, take your bat, and go home. Do not invest the lives our sons and daughters in missions abroad in that area of the world.
I think Russia will soon find out just exactly who they are dealing with. Those missiles are just as likely to be used against Russia as for it.
Russia is basically officially neutral toward all religion. That is not compatible with Iran. Sooner or later that will raise its ugly head.
Russia should have learned something when dealing with Muslims in the past. Obviously they have not. So they are doomed to repeat it.
My own thought is no one wins a war financially. It is in our best interest to remove ourselves from that area of the world.
We have also been investing huge sums of money in equipment and military. 400 billion dollars worth in Vietnam as an example that almost bankrupted the country.
No one really wins if you bankrupt the country with wars abroad.
I believe in us having a strong military here. I believe in a mobile military not easily targeted. But I do not believe in wasting that military in every corner of the world.
I believe in protecting our currency from invasions far from our shores.
I believe we have made huge mistakes in allowing corporations to reside in foreign lands that can and will steal that industry from us.
We need to take care of our land first. We need to do away with foreign aid period.
We need to stop trying to rule the entire planet.
We need to kick the UN out.
Mostly we need to rule ourselves and protect our own interests everywhere.
