The Ring Of Fire Goes Boom: Indonesia’s Mount Sangiang Volcano Erupts

Indonesia’s Mount Sangiang erupted on Friday, sending a huge plume of ash into the air.

There were no reports of any deaths or injuries, but residents of the sparsely-inhabited island where the volcano lies have been advised to keep inside until conditions are declared safe.

The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation said that ash from the volcano rose to 9,800ft high and was moving eastwards.
