There Will Be A “Blue Moon” Just 3 Days Before The U.S. Presidential Election

“Blue moons” don’t come along very often, and many are wondering if the “blue moon” that we will witness just 3 days before the presidential election in November is significant in some way. We live at a time when so many people are watching for “signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars”, and we have certainly seen some very strange things in the sky in recent months. But in this case, the moon will not actually change color. In fact, it will look exactly like it normally does, but it will be called a “blue moon” because it will be the second full moon to happen in a one month time period. The following comes from the Farmers’ Almanac

In 2020, we’ll have 13 full Moons, including 2 two Supermoons, and two full moons in one month—the second is known as a “Blue Moon.” And that occurs on Halloween, making it an even rarer occurrence!

This year, Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31st and then the presidential election will be held on November 3rd.

So this “blue moon” will arrive literally just 3 days before Americans cast their votes.

In modern times, something that happens “once in a blue moon” is a shorthand way of referring to an event that happens very infrequently.

And scientific studies have shown that full moons actually do influence human behavior. In fact, Accuweather claims that the science actually shows that the periods around full moons tend to be times of “social tension, disharmony and bizarre results”

Lunacy and lunatic stem from luna, the Latin word for moon. It is believed that people were more likely to show erratic behavior during a full moon.

A publication on the National Criminal Justice Reference Service titled lunar effect- biological tides and human emotions, shows extensive analyses of data on human behavior. Lunar astronomy accurately indicated that the repression of the moon’s gravitational influence brings about social tension, disharmony and bizarre results.

Another study looked at data over a 5-year period from police records in Florida, which showed an increase in cases of homicide and aggravated assault around full moons.

Without a doubt, the 2020 election promises to be a time of great “social tension” in America, and that will be true no matter who emerges victorious.

Of course since blue is the color of the Democratic Party, many Democrats are probably hoping that a “blue moon” is a positive sign for them.

But it is also possible that this “blue moon” may not mean anything at all. It may just be a wild coincidence that one is happening on Halloween just three days before the election.

In any event, the election season is about to begin in a few weeks, and the fur is really starting to fly among the Democratic contenders.

On Monday, a conversation that Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren had in December 2018 made headlines all over the nation

The two agreed that if they ultimately faced each other as presidential candidates, they should remain civil and avoid attacking one another, so as not to hurt the progressive movement. They also discussed how to best take on President Donald Trump, and Warren laid out two main reasons she believed she would be a strong candidate: She could make a robust argument about the economy and earn broad support from female voters.

Sanders responded that he did not believe a woman could win.

Of course Sanders completely disputes this version of the story.

But according to Elizabeth Warren, it is entirely accurate

The description of that meeting is based on the accounts of four people: two people Warren spoke with directly soon after the encounter, and two people familiar with the meeting.

After publication of this story, Warren herself backed up this account of the meeting, saying in part in a statement Monday, “I thought a woman could win; he disagreed.”

I find it quite ironic that someone that has spent his entire career accusing others of not being politically correct is now in danger of losing the presidency because of a “sexist comment” that he supposedly made.

I don’t know if Bernie Sanders said such a thing or not. But I do know that Sanders has been surging in the polls and that the Democratic establishment is desperate to keep him from being the nominee.

Obviously an attempt is being made to sabotage his campaign, and this is likely to infuriate his supporters.

Needless to say, the more the Democratic contenders tear into one another the better it will be for President Trump.

The Iowa caucuses will be held on February 3rd, and it looks like it will be an exceedingly close race.

According to Real Clear Politics, an average of the three most recent Iowa polls produces the following results…

-Joe Biden: 20.7 percent

-Bernie Sanders: 20.3 percent

-Pete Buttigieg: 18.7 percent

-Elizabeth Warren: 16.0 percent

-Amy Klobuchar: 7.0 percent

Not that many delegates are at stake, but Iowa will certainly set the tone for the states that follow.

If Biden slips to third or fourth place, that would severely damage the perception that he is the inevitable frontrunner.

And if Buttigieg, Warren or Klobuchar were to significantly outperform expectations, that would mean a tremendous amount of momentum heading into New Hampshire.

In the end, one of the Democratic contenders will win the nomination and face off against Trump in November.

It is likely to be the most contentious general election in modern American history, and it comes at a time when societal tensions are definitely on the verge of exploding.

Most Trump supporters are entirely convinced that he will win again on November 3rd, and most Democrats are entirely convinced that they will be able to vote Trump out of office.

The result of the election is going to be a bitter, bitter disappointment for one side, and the aftermath of the election is likely to be quite chaotic as many allow their bitterness to turn into rage.

One way or the other, we are going to see a massive national temper tantrum, and it isn’t going to be pretty.
