Those That Bless Israel Will Be Blessed, But Those That Try To Divide The Land Of Israel Will Be Cursed

This article is going to cause quite a bit of controversy. If you didn’t like my first article about Trump’s “peace plan” for the Middle East, you probably won’t like this one either. If you missed that article, let me briefly review where we currently stand. President Trump has just released a “peace plan” which would officially recognize a Palestinian state, which would give them East Jerusalem as their capital, and which would double the amount of territory that the Palestinians currently control. Fortunately, the Palestinians have utterly rejected this plan and want nothing to do with it. But that is not what matters. What matters is that President Trump is actively attempting to divide the land of Israel, and in this article I will explain why this has very serious implications for all of us.

Despite everything that has happened over the years, most people are still under the illusion that Israel will finally have lasting peace if they can just reach a comprehensive peace agreement with the Palestinians.

But every time Israel has compromised in the past, it has only resulted in even more terrorism afterwards. This is a point that Eugene Kontorovich made brilliantly in an opinion piece for Fox News

The Palestinian Authority pivoted from the Oslo peace accords in 1993 to fomenting a horrific campaign of murderous terrorism in the Second Intifada. It institutionalized terror and anti-Semitism with pay-for-slay – rewarding Palestinian terrorists and their families with large payments for murdering Jews – and criminalizing the sale of land to Jews.

Israel’s complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005 was rewarded with the rise of the Hamas terrorist regime, and a permanent drizzle of rockets on Israeli towns. The Oslo promise of a peaceful state in the West Bank and Gaza is long forgotten. Israel is now told to at best satisfy itself with a partial and tenuous peace in the West Bank.

So why would anything be different this time?

The truth is that it wouldn’t.

And at this point the Palestinians see no need to entertain President Trump’s proposals. You see, the truth is that they believe that they already have a Palestinian state. They have a flag, a president, their own elections, and they are heavily armed. A Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders has already been recognized by 138 of the 193 member countries of the United Nations, and so they aren’t going to be willing to accept anything less under any circumstances.

If much more liberal leaders are elected in the United States and Israel, and if those leaders are inclined to give the Palestinians a state based on the pre-1967 borders, they will probably listen.

But until then, they are more than happy to patiently wait as giant mountains of “foreign aid money” continue to pour in from all over the globe.

The idea of “making history” by being the president that finally brokers a deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians is very appealing to President Trump, but he should not be trying to divide the land of Israel under any circumstances.

In this article, I am going to show that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave that land to the people of Israel forever. If any politician attempts to carve up the land of Israel and give part of it to someone else, that politician is cursing himself and his entire nation.

Let’s start by looking at God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis chapter 12. In each case that I quote Scripture, it will be coming from the Modern English Version (Amazon Affiliate Link). In Genesis 12:1-3, God tells Abraham that those that bless him will be blessed and that those that curse him will be cursed…

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless them who bless you and curse him who curses you, and in you all families of the earth will be blessed.”

Later on, we see almost the exact same wording being used in the Book of Numbers. In that instance, Balaam had been summoned to put a curse on Israel, but God had him deliver a blessing instead. The following is what Numbers 24:9 says…

He crouches, he lies down as a lion, and as a lion, who will stir him up? “Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you.”

Throughout history, this same principle has always been true.

Those that have blessed Israel have been blessed, and those that have cursed Israel have been cursed.

In the first eight verses of Genesis 17, God specifically tells Abraham that He is giving the land of Canaan to him and to his descendants “for an everlasting possession”…

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am Almighty God. Walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between you and Me and will exceedingly multiply you.”

3 Abram fell on his face and God said to him, 4 “As for Me, My covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. 5 No longer will your name be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. 7 I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. 8 All the land of Canaan, where you now live as strangers, I will give to you and to your descendants for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.

If someone tries to take away part of that “everlasting possession” from the people of Israel, will that person be blessed or cursed?

Of course the answer is self-evident.

In Genesis 26, God specifically promises to give the land to Abraham’s son Isaac and his descendants…

2 The Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt. Live in the land of which I will tell you. 3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you; for I will give to you and all your descendants all these lands, and I will fulfill the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. 4 I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of the heavens and will give your descendants all these lands. By your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed,[a] 5 because Abraham obeyed Me and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

And then in Genesis 28, God specifically promises to give the land to Isaac’s son Jacob and his descendants…

10 Then Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Harran. 11 He came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of that place and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep. 12 He dreamed and saw a ladder set up on the earth with the top of it reaching to heaven. The angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13 The Lord stood above it and said, “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie, to you will I give it and to your descendants. 14 Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and in your descendants all the families of the earth will be blessed. 15 Remember, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you.”

Jacob eventually had 12 sons, and the families of those sons became the 12 tribes of Israel.

Today, every inch of that land still belongs to the 12 tribes of Israel, and anyone that attempts to give it away to someone else is being very foolish.

In fact, in Joel chapter 3 we are told that in the last days one of the things that God will be really upset about is the fact that other nations have “divided up My land”…

In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgment with them there regarding My people and My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.

So why aren’t all of the “Christian leaders” around Trump warning him about this?

And in Zechariah chapter 12, we are warned that the city of Jerusalem will be particularly troublesome in the last days…

And it will be on that day that I will set Jerusalem as a weighty stone to all the peoples. All who carry it will surely gash themselves, and all the nations of the land will be gathered against it.

Will U.S. leaders ever learn?

Over the past several decades, whenever the U.S. has been involved in an effort to divide the land of Israel, really bad things have happened.  The following list of 10 examples is based on a list that I shared in a previous article

#1 On March 26th, 1979 the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty was signed in Washington.  As a result of that treaty, Israel gave up a tremendous amount of territory.  Two days later, on March 28th, the worst nuclear power plant disaster in U.S. history made headlines all over the globe.  The following comes from Wikipedia

The Three Mile Island accident was a partial nuclear meltdown that occurred on March 28, 1979, in reactor number 2 of Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station (TMI-2) in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was the most significant accident in U.S. commercial nuclear power plant history.[2] The incident was rated a five on the seven-point International Nuclear Event Scale: Accident With Wider Consequences.[3][4]

#2 On October 30th, 1991 President George H. W. Bush opened the Madrid Peace Conference which brought Israelis and Palestinians together to negotiate for the very first time. In his opening speech, Bush told Israel that “territorial compromise is essential for peace”. At the exact same time, “the Perfect Storm” was brewing in the north Atlantic. This legendary storm traveled 1000 miles the wrong direction and sent 35 foot waves slamming directly into President Bush’s home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

#3 On August 23rd, 1992 the Madrid Peace Conference moved to Washington D.C., and the very next day Hurricane Andrew made landfall in Florida causing 30 billion dollars in damage. It was the worst natural disaster up to that time in U.S. history.

#4 On January 16th, 1994 President Clinton met with President Assad of Syria to discuss the possibility of Israel giving up the Golan Heights. Within 24 hours, the devastating Northridge earthquake hit southern California. It was the second worst natural disaster up to that time in U.S. history.

#5 On January 21st, 1998 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the White House but received a very cold reception. In fact, President Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright actually refused to have lunch with him. That exact same day the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, sending the Clinton presidency into a tailspin from which it would never recover.

#6 On September 28th, 1998 Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was working on finalizing a plan which would have had Israel give up approximately 13 percent of Judea and Samaria. On that precise day, Hurricane George slammed into the Gulf Coast with wind gusts of up to 175 miles an hour.

#7 On May 3rd, 1999 Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was supposed to hold a press conference to declare the creation of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. On that precise day, the most powerful tornadoes ever recorded in the U.S. ripped through Oklahoma and Kansas. At one point one of the tornadoes actually had a recorded wind speed of 316 miles an hour.

#8 On April 30th, 2003, “the Road Map to Peace” that had been developed by the so-called “Quartet” was presented to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon by U.S. Ambassador Daniel Kurtzer. Over the next seven days, the U.S. was hit by a staggering 412 tornadoes. It was the largest tornado cluster ever recorded up to that time.

#9 In 2005, President George W. Bush (the son of George H. W. Bush) convinced Israel that it was necessary to remove all of the Jewish settlers out of Gaza and turn it over entirely to the Palestinians. According to the New York Times, the very last of the settlers were evacuated on August 23, 2005. On that precise day, a storm that would be given the name “Katrina” started forming over the Bahamas. The city of New Orleans still has not fully recovered from the damage that storm caused, and it ranked as the costliest natural disaster in all of U.S. history up to that time.

#10 On May 19th, 2011 Barack Obama told Israel that there must be a return to the pre-1967 borders. Three days later on May 22nd a half-mile wide EF-5 multiple-vortex tornado ripped through Joplin, Missouri. According to Wikipedia, it was “the costliest single tornado in U.S. history.”

So will there be a similar disaster this time around?

We don’t know. Just because God did something a certain way in the past doesn’t mean that He will keep repeating that pattern every time.

But I do find it very interesting that all of a sudden Mitch McConnell doesn’t have the votes to block impeachment witnesses. I still fully expect the Republicans in the Senate to acquit Trump, but from this point forward things may not go as well for Trump as they did before.

Even more importantly, Trump has now cursed the entire country by trying to divide the land of Israel. And for there to be so few Christian leaders speaking out about this makes things even worse.

Fortunately, the Palestinians aren’t interested in making any sort of a deal right now. But someday the U.S. will be involved in formally dividing the land of Israel, and after that happens our land will be divided as well.

It is very foolish to challenge the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Unfortunately, our politicians are going to keep meddling in the Middle East, and we will pay a great price for their wicked decisions.
