The evangelical women who visit strippers to show God loves them

(The Guardian) We sat in a minivan in an otherwise empty parking lot in central Atlantic City. Before going into Bare Exposure, the first strip club of the evening, we read a passage of the Bible aloud. “Yet if there is an angel at their side, a messenger, one out of a thousand, sent to tell them how to be right.” (Job 33:23.) The trunk of the car was filled with pink cardboard boxes holding cupcakes from a high-end bakery.

This was my introduction to Love’s Way Out, an evangelical ministry that visits strip clubs around Atlantic City about once a month – not as a means to proselytize, but to express what the ministry refers to as Jesus’ compassion. The group’s members describe the ministry as less focused on conversion than on being a pillar of support for women they perceive to be in need.

Their mission, in other words, is to make strippers feel loved and, therefore, worthy of love.

3 Times LAST WEEK Women Defended Themselves and Others With a Gun

(Daisy Luther) I’ve often written about the fact that gun control is every bit as much of a women’s issue as equal pay and maternity leave. Anyone who believes in destroying the 2nd Amendment doesn’t understand what an equalizer a firearm can be. A determined woman with a gun can fend off a number of larger male attackers, sometimes without even firing a shot.

I know this is true because I have had occasion to protect myself and my daughter with a gun in the past. But if some gun control advocates had their way, all guns would be banned. Every single one. This would take away the right of women all over the country to protect themselves.

I argue constantly that guns have a place in every woman’s home. Below, you can find 3 stories about women who defended themselves and others with guns in just the past week.

A Restaurant Worker in Wisconsin

Miranda Schaeffer told Fox & Friends that her gun may have been the deciding factor in saving the lives of herself and a co-worker last week.

She and her co-worker were physically attacked by a customer who wanted a refund at the George Webb restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they work last Friday night, July 6, 2018. Schaeffer recounted the incident:

“He didn’t look like he was playing any games with anybody. He wanted his money,” Schaefer said. “But he didn’t want to wait. Like literally maybe a minute. And as soon as [Kaehler] said you can’t come back here, that’s when he punched her. And I said ‘no, we’re not going to have no more of this.’ So I pulled out the firearm and that’s when I said ‘you’ve got to go.’”

Schaefer said the assailant would have kept assaulting her and her coworker, had she not pulled out her gun and told him to move along.

“He would have most definitely kept on coming,” Schaefer said. “He would have kept on hitting. He would have tried to fight both of us. The punch was originally for me because I told him no about the refund because I’m not allowed to you give the refund.”

“He didn’t want to wait. And since he didn’t want to wait that’s when he punched her,” she continued. “He was going to keep on going and keep on going. It was going to be bad. That punch itself was terrible.” (source)

Schaeffer’s coworker had urged her to bring the firearm to work due to a history of violent incidents at the location, as well as a lack of security.

An Ex-Wife in Alabama

A woman in Jefferson County, Alabama successfully defended herself against her estranged husband last week, as well.

Chief Deputy Randy Christian said deputies were dispatched about 10 a.m. to a home in the 2800 block of Seventh Street N.E. A woman told lawmen her estranged husband had broken into the house and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman was armed with a handgun and shot him in the leg to fend him off, Christian said. The suspect fled in vehicle but was stopped by deputies in the 1900 block of Old Springville Road. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening.

Detectives questioned the suspect, who they identified as Eric Austin. After questioning, Austin was arrested and charged with attempted rape and second-degree domestic violence. (source)

The man was put under guard at the local hospital and will be sent to the Jefferson County Jail after he is released.

A Mom in Texas

When a Dallas, Texas mom went into the gas station for just a moment, a potential carjacker took that as an opportunity to try and steal her SUV…with her two young children inside, ages 2 and 4.

“It happened so fast…Not even five minutes, not even five minutes. It happened so fast!”

Booker said jumped back into the vehicle and ordered the man to stop the car. When he refused, she tried to push the gear into park as the car rolled through the parking lot. The suspect, Rickey Wright, still refused to stop, so Booker reached for her gun.

“When I see that he’s not trying to stop, he kept hitting the gas, I went toward my glove compartment and grabbed my gun and I fired at him from the side,” she said. (source)

She shot Wright in the face. He is in the hospital with serious injuries and has been charged with unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

These women refused to be victims.

These brave women didn’t wait around to be victims. They took their personal security into their own hands. Each of them got a gun and learned how to use it. They didn’t hesitate when the time came and because of this, they and others remained unscathed.

Notice that none of the assailants threatened the women with a firearm. They tried to use their superior strength and size to intimidate their would-be victims. In each case, the gun served as an equalizer.

Biology defies the politically correct ideal that everyone is equal. If my daughters were to ever find themselves in a position where they had to fight to save their own lives, I would far rather they be armed with the handgun of their choice than any number of weekend self-defense classes. Nothing is going to empower them more than a firearm that they can use with comfort and accuracy. Nothing is going to be more likely to end a conflict before it erupts into violence than seeing that the person you thought was going to be your victim is willing to fight back with deadly force.

The idea that we all need to hand over our guns and then the world would be a safer place is nothing but a silly,  rose-colored daydream with no basis in reality.  If that offends you, then you need to sincerely think about the fact that under your guidelines, the smaller, weaker person will always be the victim.

We all have the natural right to protect ourselves and our loved ones.  Why are some people so terrified of the idea of taking control of their own safety?

There is no way to guess how many times a firearm in the hands of a would-be victim deters a criminal and saves a life. The mere sight of a firearm doesn’t cause violence. It can prevent the violence that is brewing.

Yes, people really DO want to take all the guns.

Despite the assurances of the left that “no one is coming for your guns,” opponents of the 2nd Amendment have been a lot more vocal lately stating that this is not the truth. Last year, Lt. Governor (and would-be governor) of California Gavin Newsome flat out said on Facebook:

“It’s been 5 years since 20 first graders were shot dead at Sandy Hook…We have a message for the NRA – National Rifle Association of America: If you hurt people, we ARE coming for your guns.” (source)

A survey undertaken in March says that half of all Democrats want to ban ALL guns. Here are half a dozen articles with examples of people who want to take our guns.

And of course, these articles are a drop in the bucket. There are many, many more. Would all of these people prefer it if the restaurant workers above were killed by their assailant? If the two children were kidnapped and killed by the carjacker? If the woman was raped by her ex-husband?

Take control of your own safety.

Any person who feels marginalized or vulnerable to hate crimes should be there lining up at the shooting range with me and the three women mentioned above. If you are a gay person, a minority, a transgender person, or of a religion that is being persecuted, you, too, need to take the power into your own hands to defend yourself from the bullies of this world should they physically attack you. I urge you to get a gun and take some instruction to learn how to use it, store it, and carry it safely and responsibly. (Here are some tips on choosing a gun.)

If you agree with the following statements, then you cannot logically agree with the type of gun control that takes away everyone’s right to bear arms.

  • I have the right to keep my family safe.
  • I have the right to protect myself against someone bigger and stronger than me.
  • I have the right to protect myself when traveling.
  • I have the right to protect myself at work.
  • I have the right to be safe in public places.
  • I have the right not to be raped until the police arrive.

Most of us are on the same side. We want to be safe. I urge you to take that safety into your own hands like these women did, because as the saying goes, when you need help in seconds, the police are only minutes away.

Women In Saudi Arabia Are Finally Driving…

On Sunday, women in Saudi Arabia will be legally permitted to drive vehicles for the first time ever.

I know that this sounds totally crazy, but this is a perfect example of how repressive this regime has been

Saudi women are in the driver’s seat for the first time in their country and steering their way through busy city streets just minutes after the world’s last remaining ban on women driving was lifted on Sunday.

It’s a euphoric and historic moment for women who have had to rely on their husbands, fathers, brothers and drivers to run basic errands, get to work, visit friends or even drop kids off at school. The ban had relegated women to the backseat, restricting when and how they move around.

But after midnight Sunday, Saudi women finally joined women around the world in being able to get behind the wheel of a car and simply drive.

The people of Saudi Arabia still don’t have freedom of speech, freedom of religion or most other basic human freedoms, but at least this is a small step in the right direction.

Females Are Outperforming Males On Every Educational Level, And That Has Staggering Implications For The Future Of Our Society

It is an uncomfortable truth that most educators simply do not want to talk about. Females are dramatically outperforming males on every educational level, and many are wondering what this means for our future. If men do not feel a strong sense of purpose and meaning, they can get into trouble really quickly. As I write this article, the vast majority of those that abuse drugs are men, the vast majority of those that commit violent crimes are men, and the vast majority of those that we put into prison are men. I began researching this article by looking into the fact that the labor participation rate for men has been declining for decades, but our problems run much deeper than that. Today, so many men feel lost. Millions of them don’t have a sense of direction, millions of them don’t have anything that really drives or motivates them, and millions of them are deeply depressed and greatly dissatisfied with life.

For a lot of them, it started very early. As Dr. Michael Thompson told CBS News, all across America girls are outperforming boys at every educational level…

“Girls outperform boys in elementary school, middle school, high school, and college, and graduate school,” says Dr. Michael Thompson, a school psychologist who writes about the academic problems of boys in his book, “Raising Cain.” He says that after decades of special attention, girls are soaring, while boys are stagnating.

“Girls are being told, ‘Go for it, you can do it. Go for it, you can do it.’ They are getting an immense amount of support,” he says. “Boys hear that the way to shine is athletically. And boys get a lot of mixed messages about what it means to be masculine and what it means to be a student. Does being a good student make you a real man? I don’t think so… It is not cool.”

Perhaps one of the big reasons why young males are so drawn to sports is because it allows them to do the sorts of things the come naturally to males. Sporting events allow young males to engage in battle, to hunt and to conquer. Yes, it is a simulated environment, but sporting events really do bring out something primal in young boys.

We all have natural tendencies, and it appears that modern forms of schooling are doing a much better job of connecting with females. In fact, one extremely large study found that girls all over the world are substantially outperforming boys in the classroom

According to a recent study from University of New Brunswick in Canada, girls have been outperforming boys consistently through the years. It is a popular belief that boys perform better in subjects like Math and Science; however, a review of 308 studies involving more than 1.1 million children across the globe has challenged this stereotype. The study looked at data from 1914 to 2011 and the findings suggest that girls do better in school than boys in the classroom regardless of the material.

So it isn’t just in the United States that this is happening.

And it is a trend that does not seem to diminish with age.

Young women are dominating in high schools all over the nation, and at one high school in Massachusetts girls make up 70 to 80 percent of the students in advanced placement classes…

At graduation ceremonies last June at Hanover High School in Massachusetts, it was the ninth year in a row that a girl was on the podium as school valedictorian. Girls also took home nearly all the honors, including the science prize, says principal Peter Badalament.

“[Girls] tend to dominate the landscape academically right now,” he says, even in math and science.

The school’s advanced placement classes, which admit only the most qualified students, are often 70 percent to 80 percent girls. This includes calculus. And in AP biology, there was not a single boy.

I suppose the silver lining for young men is that if they really want to meet more girls they should just work really, really hard to get into those AP classes.

But the truth is that this is no joking matter. At this point, higher education in the United States is totally dominated by women. Just check out these numbers

Women earned approximately 57 percent of the bachelor’s degrees awarded by U.S. institutions of higher education in the 2016-2017 academic year, according to data released this week by the National Center for Education Statistics, which is part of the U.S. Department of Education.

That, according to NCES data, makes 2016-2017 the eighteenth straight academic year in which women have earned approximately 57 percent of the bachelor’s degrees awarded by U.S. colleges and universities.

Did you understand what that excerpt was saying?

Women have received about 57 percent of all bachelor’s degrees in this country for 18 years in a row.

Our future doctors, lawyers, politicians and societal leaders come from our pool of college graduates, and the numbers tell us that women are going to be dominating those fields for the foreseeable future.

So what will men be doing?

Well, in recent years more of them have been dropping out of the labor force than ever before. The following comes from the New York Times

Among women, the share out of the labor force has fallen from 66 percent in 1950 to 43 percent today. That is not surprising in light of changing social norms and the greater career opportunities now open to women.

Men, however, exhibit the opposite long-term trend. In 1950, 14 percent of men were out of the labor force. Today, that figure stands at 31 percent.

For those of you that prefer graphics, here is a chart from the Federal Reserve that shows this staggering decline over the last several decades. Please note that we are currently at a much lower level than we were at during the last major recession…

If men aren’t working, how are they supporting themselves?

For many, the social safety net provided by the government is an easy answer. Here is more from the New York Times

One might wonder how these less educated, prime-age men support themselves after leaving the labor force. The social safety net plays a role. In a study for the Mercatus Center of George Mason University, Scott Winship reports that “75 percent of inactive prime-age men are in a household that received some form of government transfer payment.” Mr. Winship believes that government disability benefits in particular are one reason for the lack of interest in work.

For others, living with Mom and Dad for as long as possible is the solution. Today, a staggering 38.4 percent of all Millennials live with their parents, and that number seems to keep going up with each passing year.

We live during an era of dramatic societal change, and many are concerned about where all of this change is taking us.

Yes, we need a society in which females can thrive, but we also need a society in which males can thrive as well, and right now that simply is not happening.

The 3ft cells where women were kept like animals by ISIS: Syrian rebels reveal tiny prisons with no windows where sex slaves were held

Shocking footage has been released from inside the prison where Islamic State held and tortured dozens of women.

Female prisoners were kept in cells just three feet wide, which were so cramped they could barely stretch out their arms.

Turkish forces stormed the prison in the Syrian town of Al-Bab and freed the terrified women who were being held there.

Hillary Clinton asks women to rise up against the Trump administration

Hillary Clinton said female leaders need to ‘step up and speak out’ in a video statement urging women across the United States to ‘be bold’.

In footage from the 2017 MAKERS conference, Clinton talked about breaking glass ceilings and the Women’s Marches that took place last month.

‘Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that, yes, the future is female,’ she said.

This was Clinton’s first on-camera statement since President Donald Trump was inaugurated last month.

I Am A Woman Who Went To The Women’s March And The March for Life. The Differences Were Stunning

A week after the Inauguration of Donald Trump, politically active women across America could choose to make themselves heard at two major rallies revolving around women’s issues. They could attend a pro-choice, feminist march known as the Women’s March or they could wait one week and attend the 44th annual pro-life, March for Life.

Some lucky few, such as myself, were able to attend both.

The marches had their similarities. Both marches were held in D.C. Both marches were heavily attended by women. And both marches attracted people from all over the country to participate. But each march was not made equal.

Being physically at the marches, it is easy to recognize differences between the two. In fact, some of the differences were downright stunning.

Homeless For The Holidays

child-sitting-in-door-and-crying-public-domain

Could you imagine spending the holidays in a homeless shelter, in a tent city surrounded by drug addicts and prostitutes, or in a sleeping bag on the cold, hard streets of an urban jungle? Unfortunately, that is what real life looks like for an increasing number of Americans. Most of the time when we think of “homeless people”, the image that comes into our minds is one of a grizzled old man asking for some spare change, but the truth is that vast numbers of women and children in our country do not have anywhere to live. In fact, Poverty USA has reported that last year a grand total 1.6 million U.S. children stayed either in a homeless shelter or in some other form of emergency housing. And you never hear the mainstream media report this number, but the truth is that the number of homeless children in the United States has risen by 60 percent since the “end” of the last recession. For the moment the wealthy are getting wealthier, but meanwhile things have just continued to get harder and harder for those that are struggling to survive in this economy.

In Wal-Mart parking lots and campgrounds all over America tonight, you will find formerly middle class families that are living in cars, trucks and recreational vehicles during this holiday season. Most of them will never complain and will try to put on a happy face outwardly, but inside the worry and fear are eating them alive.

As the weather gets cold, many homeless Americans head for warmer climates, and this is one of the factors that is fueling the unprecedented homelessness crisis in Los Angeles. The following comes from L.A. Weekly

By nearly every metric, Los Angeles has the worst homelessness crisis of any city in America. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, there are more people suffering from chronic homelessness in L.A. than anywhere in the country, and their number is growing at a faster clip than those in New York City.

One homeless man in Los Angeles has decided to do what he can to make the best of his circumstances. He has transformed a depressingly bleak area underneath a freeway underpass into his own “personal paradise”

A homeless man who turned a freeway underpass into his personal paradise by furnishing it with a make-shift jacuzzi and four-poster bed has become a viral hit and unlikely tourist attraction.

Ceola Waddell Jr, 59, began living in the underpass in L.A.’s 110 freeway near Coliseum six months ago.

He has since foraged two porcelain toilets, discarded refrigerators, couches and two beds to transform the space into his personal refuge.

You can’t help but smile when you read what Mr. Waddell has done, but the truth is that the homelessness crisis in the state is rapidly getting way out of control. In fact, Los Angeles is swamped by so many homeless people at this point that the L.A. City Council has asked California Governor Jerry Brown to officially declare a state of emergency.

On the east coast things are getting really, really bad as well.

You may find this hard to believe, but the number of homeless people in New York City has never been higher

The number of homeless people living in New York City has reached a record-high.

The Department of Homeless Services reported there were 60,252, up 200 in two weeks.

Now, some are saying the city’s current plan to combat homelessness isn’t working.

So why is this happening?

The stock market is at an all-time high and the mainstream media keeps telling us that things are getting better, and yet poverty just continues to rise.

Other than the very wealthy, the truth is that things are not getting any better for virtually everyone else. In fact, it has been reported that over half of all New Yorkers “are teetering on the brink of homelessness”…

More than half of all New Yorkers are teetering on the brink of homelessness — without enough cash in the bank to cover them in the event of a disaster or lost job, a troubling new study has found.

Nearly 60 percent of all New Yorkers don’t have enough emergency savings to cover at least three months’ worth of household expenses like food, housing and rent, according to a recent report from the Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development.

This is one of the reasons why I am always encouraging my readers to build up their emergency funds. Sadly, the cold, hard reality of the matter is that most of the country is only a couple of paychecks away from losing everything.

To give you an idea of how deep the suffering can be this time of the year for those that have already lost it all, I want to share with you a story of a precious little dog named Ollie

When Ollie was found, his fur was matted and so long you couldn’t see his adorable little eyes. He was clearly in need of dire help.

A woman and her sister saw Ollie outside her apartment, shivering in the freezing cold. They brought him in and quickly called the Michigan Humane Society to help take care of the dog.

Once Ollie was brought in, it was discovered just how sick he is. Had he not been rescued, he would have suffered a very painful death alone in the streets.

Very few people could come across a hurting dog like Ollie without helping him out, but what about the countless numbers of our fellow Americans that no longer have a warm home and will spend the night shivering in the cold?

Look, the truth is that you don’t have to have a whole lot of resources in order to make a difference. In Tennessee, there is a group of elderly women that refer to themselves as “the bag ladies” that are turning old plastic bags into sleeping mats for the homeless

It all starts with cutting plastic bags into strips, tying those strips together, and rolling them into a ball.

The Bag Ladies call it “plarn,” instead of yarn. They then crochet the “plarn” into mats.

It takes 600 bags to make an 18 square foot mat. So far, this year, they have used 52,000 bags to make 88 mats.

“This is not young ladies doing this. This is older ladies with the arthritis,” said Akin.

How marvelous is that?

A single act of kindness can make a world of difference.

In the months ahead, temperatures are only going to get colder and economic conditions are only going to get tougher for those that are already living in poverty.

I would encourage all of us to think about what we can do to make a difference for those that are deeply hurting this time of the year.

America Is Falling: More Men Than Ever Want To Watch Their Wives And Girlfriends Have Sex With Other Men

watching-public-domain

Virtually every great society throughout history has descended into a state of utter sexual depravity before completely falling, and it looks like the United States is not going to be any exception.  Whatever sick and twisted perversion you can dream up, there is probably a “thriving community” for it on the Internet.  Right at the beginning of this article, I want to make it clear that what I am about to talk about is extremely disturbing and so this article should not be read by anyone that is not an adult.  So why discuss this type of stuff at all?  Well, the truth is that we are under a mass delusion in this country today.  We like to think that we are so moral that we are an “example” to the rest of the world, but the truth is that America has become an overflowing cesspool of wickedness and filth.  Just about every form of evil that you could possibly name is absolutely exploding in our society, and if we hope to have any hope for our future we have got to take a good, long look in the mirror and be honest with ourselves about how far we have fallen.

What I am going to write about today is just one example of how far we have declined morally.  We have become a nation that is completely and totally addicted to watching other people have sex.  I often quote the studies that show that approximately two-thirds of all Christian men look at pornography on a regular basis, and there is one kind of this filth in particular that is becoming extremely popular.

Just a few days ago, I came across an article in the Independent that discussed the fact that the number of men that want to watch their wives or girlfriends have sex with other men is absolutely soaring…

Online communities dedicated to the topic are booming, with Google searches for the fetish peaking this week, having more than doubled in the past 12 years.

One man explained how he’d been married to his wife for two years before confessing that he fantasised about watching her with another man.

Meanwhile a married woman detailed how her husband even texted her messages of encouragement when she was trying to seduce the man they’d agreed on.

This practice is known as “cuckolding”, and there apparently is a tremendous demand for material related to this practice.  According to Psychology Today, “even a cursory search on Amazon will turn up hundreds of books on such erotica and that the Internet, too, resoundingly echoes this ‘huge demand’ for graphic depictions of such sex.”

Talk about sick.

According to Wikipedia, the phrase “cuckold” originally comes “from the cuckoo bird, alluding to its habit of laying its eggs in other birds’ nests.”

In our society everything is being turned upside down.  Good is being called evil and evil is being called good.  Once upon a time, the practice of adultery was greatly condemned in this nation, but now we have turned it into a spectator sport.

And at this point even the most trusted members of our society are doing things that were once considered to be unthinkable.  For example, just check out what police in New York have been doing

Sgt. Jonathan E. Moore, 35, was at a Colonie auto dealership last month when his boyfriend, Anthony Aubin, 27, was arrested on felony charges as they tried to use a fraudulent check to purchase a $92,000 2016 Jaguar coupe, according to arrest records.

But the arrest of Aubin, who has a lengthy criminal record and was recently on parole, has triggered a much broader, multi-agency police investigation into allegations that gay officers may have hosted or taken part in sex parties — called “breeding parties” — that allegedly were attended by teenagers who were not of legal age to drink alcohol or consent to having sex with adults.

When people run around having sex with whoever they feel like, it is inevitable that sexually-transmitted diseases will start to spread like wildfire, and a new report that was just released found that is precisely what is happening

The number of reported cases of sexually transmitted diseases reached a record high in the US last year, figures show, as officials warned that stretched services meant people were slipping through the “public health safety net”.

In its latest report, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention said the sharp rise in syphilis was of particular concern.

“We have reached a decisive moment for the nation,” Dr Jonathan Mermin, a director at the CDC, said.

Overall, the CDC says that there are approximately 20 million new STD cases in the United States every single year.

Just let that sink in for a moment.

20 million new cases a year.

And somehow we have come to the conclusion that we are good people?

Somehow we have come to the conclusion that we deserve to be blessed?

And of course it isn’t just sexual sin that is exploding either.  Violent crime is way up in 2016, and this is particularly true in big cities such as Chicago

With 78 homicides, October was the second deadliest month of 2016, and Chicago surpassed 600 homicides for the first time in more than a decade.

The last time Chicago had at least 600 homicides in a single year was 2003.

Homicides and non-fatal shootings have skyrocketed in 2016, with 605 homicides and more than 3,600 shooting victims through the end of October.

In October, there were 78 homicides and 427 shooting victims. Only August had more homicides, when 90 people were slain in Chicago. It was the bloodiest month in the city in 20 years.

Let me be very clear – America is never “going to be great again” until we change what is in our own hearts.

Our biggest problem has not been that we have had the wrong political party in control of the White House.

Rather, our biggest problem has been our own behavior.

If we want to have any sort of a future as a nation, we need to turn from our wicked ways.  But even in most churches you will not hear this kind of message these days.

Sadly, the truth is that the vast majority of Americans don’t want to hear about how evil they are, and they certainly don’t have any intention of changing their behavior.

But unless we start making major changes immediately, there is not going to be any hope for us no matter who we send to Washington.

Is It Wrong For Women To Be Addicted To Sexually Explicit Romance Novels?

Romance Novel - Public Domain

About a billion and a half dollars will be spent on romance novels in the United States this year. These novels will outsell the categories of “sci-fi, mystery, and fantasy combined“, and they will account for more than half of all mass-market fiction paperbacks sold. To say that they are popular would be a vast understatement. Many of these novels are “clean”, innocent and even inspirational, but many others are extremely sexually explicit. In America today, 64 percent of all Christian men and 15 percent of all Christian women admit that they have viewed pornography within the last month, and we correctly label this as a national moral crisis. But are women that can’t get through a day without reading a sexually explicit romance novel that much different?

Today, I came across an article by a Christian wife and blogger named Chris Taylor, and I thought that I would share with you her perspective on this

I’d packed my current romance novel into my carry-on bag. As I reached into the bag to pull it out, I noticed that a man a few rows ahead of me was reading an adult magazine. I thought, “Oh, that’s just icky. Even if no one else sees the pictures, he is going to be sitting there feeling all aroused and thinking about sex around other people. Just gross.”

I looked at the book in my hand, and in one of those “God smacked me between the eyes” moments, I realized that the man looking at the magazine with naked women was no different than my reading this book in the presence of others.

The sexy romance novel was my version of porn.

I pulled out my crossword puzzle book instead.

As a society, we consider men that look at “adult material” to be “icky”, and for good reason, but scientists have found that women that read sexually explicit romance novels also experience an “addicting chemical release”

According to author of “Finding the Hero in your Husband” and psychologist Dr. Julia Slattery, there are similarities between what happens to a man when he views pornography and what happens to a woman when she reads a romance novel.

“There is a neurochemical element with men and visual porn, but an emotional element with women and these novels,” she wrote.

*****

Women are more stimulated by romance than sex, so they read romantic stories (and they don’t have to be explicit to work) they can experience the same addicting chemical release as men do.

There are some women out there that read one or two of these novels a day.

Once again, there are certainly many of these novels that are fun and innocent, but a growing percentage of them are very similar to 50 Shades of Grey.

As I have written about previously, 50 Shades of Grey is a book that glorifies sexual abuse and the BDSM lifestyle. The novel contains extraordinarily graphic descriptions of BDSM sex acts, and it is not the type of thing that anyone should ever read under any circumstances.

Shockingly, one survey discovered that 9 percent of all Christian women in America have read at least the first book in the series…

A faith-based polling firm found that “9 percent of practising Christian women in America have read at least the first book, which is roughly the same as the percentage of all women who have read 50 Shades across the country.”

And that is just one sexually explicit romance novel out of the thousands and thousands that are available.

Overall, it has been estimated that close to 70 percent of all women in the United States read at least one romance novel each year. The following comes from Lea Z. Singh

But according to Laurie Kahn, producer of the documentary film Love Between the Covers: “More than 70 million people in the USA alone read at least one romance novel per year, and most of them read many more.”

The US Census for 2015 shows there are 100 million women between 18 and 64 years old living in the United States. If Kahn’s number is correct, and assuming that the majority of those “70 million people” are women, then up to 70 percent of American women are covertly consuming literary pornography.

Once again, I don’t want to be accused of dumping all romance novels into the same category.

Many are as clean and innocent as a typical Hallmark movie.

But without a doubt, others are absolutely teeming with lust and perversion. If many husbands actually knew what their wives were reading they would be completely floored.

We need to be very careful about what we feed our minds, because it determines the kind of people that we are going to become. In my new book entitled The Rapture Verdict, I warn about the moral collapse of America and what is happening to our nation as a result. Just electing the right political leaders will not solve the problems that we are facing as a nation. Rather, the key is getting our hearts right before a holy God.

And I don’t want anyone to think that I am just pointing a finger at women in this article.

As I mentioned above, one survey found that 64 percent of all Christian men were willing to admit that they have looked at “adult material” within the last 30 days. A different survey discovered that 68 percent of all Christian men view this stuff on a regular basis.

That means that two-thirds of the church in America is addicted to filth!

In this article I have focused on women and romance novels, but let us never, ever forget the raging national crisis that we have with our men. Until we get this fixed, we have absolutely zero chance of turning America in the right direction.

ISIS Sex Slaves Reveal The True Horror Of What Is Going On Over In The Middle East

Girl Silhouette - Public Domain

Could you imagine being kidnapped, being auctioned off like a piece of meat, and being endlessly gang-raped every day by some of the most evil men on the entire planet for months on end? This is what ISIS is doing to thousands upon thousands of women in Iraq and Syria, and some of their victims are as young as nine. The things that I am about to share with you are almost too nightmarish for words, but it is imperative that we understand what is going on. When ISIS conquers an area that is not Muslim, they believe that they can do whatever they want to the women because they are “infidels”. So innocent young women are being treated in some of the most horrible ways imaginable, and most of the rest of the world looks on with indifference. But of course what ISIS is doing is just the tip of a very big global iceberg. As you will see below, there are tens of millions of slaves in our world today, and sexual exploitation is involved in approximately 80 percent of those cases.

I came across a Daily Mail article earlier today that detailed what ISIS did to a young Yazidi woman named Khalida. When she was captured, she was brought to one of those infamous “auctions” where members of ISIS buy and sell women like trading cards…

A Yazidi woman sold as a sex-slave eight times by an ISIS jihadi says she was put on parade like she was being picked out in a ‘car showroom’.

Khalida, 20, was kidnapped and taken to Raqqa where she was put on display in a ‘meat market’ where women are purchased for as little as a mobile phone, or simply given away as ‘gifts’.

The most beautiful women are put into a separate ‘VIP’ room where leaders can take their time choosing their favourite three or four girls each.

Khalida and her sister were purchased initially by a very sick old man with a white beard that kept them locked away in a small room. From time to time he would rape them, and then afterwards his wife would beat them for “tempting” her husband.

Later she was sold to other owners, and she was gang-raped by ISIS fighters multiple times. Here is more of her story from the Daily Mail

Raped up to three times a day her ‘slave master’ or gang-raped by groups of ISIS fighters, this quiet young woman was bought and sold by eight different men – each more brutal, callous and perverted than the last.

She told MailOnline she was force-fed contraceptive pills and once taken to hospital for a contraceptive injection after she was rendered unconscious by one particularly brutal gang rape.

‘They [ISIS] did not want me get pregnant, especially if there was more than one man because they would not know who the father of the baby was,’ she said.

This is going on day after day in the Middle East, and yet it doesn’t make a lot of headlines in the western world.

Perhaps we think that if we can ignore what is happening to them that we are justified in not doing anything about it.

Next, let me share with you the story of Nadia Murad. She was just 19 when ISIS conquered her town, and she saw ISIS kill all of the males in her family right in front of her eyes

Murad and her mother and sisters watched out of the window, along with hundreds of other women and children from the Yazidi village of Kocho, as ISIS slaughtered their men and boys. “We could see outside—they were shooting the men and they were beheading them as well. They were also taking them away in buses.

“My six brothers were killed in this way.”

In the western world, we tend to think that such things could never happen to us. But in my new book I discuss how Christians all over the globe are eventually going to be facing this kind of persecution.

If you are under the illusion that you are somehow going to be exempt from all this, then you are going to be in for one heck of a wake up call.

After Nadia Murad watched ISIS butcher her family members, she was sold 13 different times, and her various “owners” were incredibly brutal

I first met Murad in July last year, four months after she managed to escape from her captors in Mosul. She visited the UK with two other former captives and former Iraqi MP Ameena Hasan Saeed, who helped to smuggle her out of the Islamic State. Speaking anonymously, she described in blistering detail how she was abused, raped, and sold through the ranks of ISIS troops, enduring a total of eight months in captivity and 13 owners who kept her locked up, starved and disorientated.

At the time, she showed me scars from cigarette butts burnt into her skin by the fighters who worked for her first owner, a commander called Salman. He had his men gang rape her after her first disastrous attempt at escaping. “I found a small window so I climbed out and jumped from the second story, but one of Salman’s guards found me and brought be back to him. I could have died jumping, and after that I wished I had.”

I don’t know how anyone can read these stories without having an emotional reaction.

Just imagine if this was happening to your wife or your daughter. How would you feel?

Unfortunately, even if ISIS could somehow be wiped off the face of the planet tomorrow, that would only put a very, very tiny dent in the overall problem of sex slavery in our world. The following are 11 facts about human trafficking that come from dosomething.org

1. Globally, the average cost of a slave is $90.

2. Trafficking primarily involves exploitation which comes in many forms, including: forcing victims into prostitution, subjecting victims to slavery or involuntary servitude and compelling victims to commit sex acts for the purpose of creating pornography.

3. According to some estimates, approximately 80% of trafficking involves sexual exploitation, and 19% involves labor exploitation.

4. There are approximately 20 to 30 million slaves in the world today.

5. According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children.

6. The average age a teen enters the sex trade in the U.S. is 12 to 14-year-old. Many victims are runaway girls who were sexually abused as children.

7. California harbors 3 of the FBI’s 13 highest child sex trafficking areas on the nation: Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.

8. The National Human Trafficking Hotline receives more calls from Texas than any other state in the US. 15% of those calls are from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

9. Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are trafficked into the U.S. each year.

10. Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year. Of that number, $15.5 billion is made in industrialized countries.

11. The International Labour Organization estimates that women and girls represent the largest share of forced labor victims with 11.4 million trafficked victims (55%) compared to 9.5 million (45%) men.

To me, those numbers are absolutely staggering.

Most people tend to think of slavery as something that happened in less civilized times, but the truth is that it has been estimated that there are more slaves in our world today than ever before in human history.

We live in a world that is absolutely brimming with evil. This is something that those that believe that people are “generally good” and that humanity has a “bright future” really struggle with.

If humans are “generally good” and we really have advanced so dramatically over their centuries, then why are there more slaves in the world today than ever before and why do we see so much evil all around us?

The answer to that question reveals a lot more about someone than you might think.

If you would like to take a shot at that question, please feel free to share what you think by leaving a comment below…

Bathroom Crisis In America: The National Debate Over Gender-Neutral Bathrooms Goes Viral

Bathroom Sign - Public Domain

Should public facilities continue to offer separate bathrooms for men and women? In 2016, this has become a political “hot potato” that is causing emotions to run high on both sides of the debate. Many liberals consider the push for gender-neutral bathrooms to be on the cutting edge of the civil rights movement in the United States. Meanwhile, many conservatives consider separate bathrooms for men and women to be a matter of basic moral decency. What both sides of the debate can agree on is that this is an issue that is not going away any time soon. Gender-neutral bathrooms are popping up in public places all over America, and the Obama administration has even installed one in the White House. Unfortunately, these gender-neutral bathrooms can have some very serious unintended consequences as you will see below.

U.S. colleges and universities are at the center of this debate. All over the country student groups are pushing for gender-neutral restrooms, and many institutions of higher learning are now starting to implement them. The following comes from an editorial in the Harvard Crimson that addresses the transition that is now taking place at that university…

The need for gender-neutral restrooms is profound, and their expansion is long overdue. Gender-neutral restrooms are critical for the safety and well-being of BGLTQ students, and it is vital that they are installed more widely throughout campus. While it is commendable that some of the Houses have started to implement gender-neutral restrooms, single-gender bathrooms are the majority, especially in residential buildings. The process by which students can petition for gender-neutral restrooms in their dorms remains inconsistent and opaque. Additionally, very few gender-neutral restrooms exist in academic buildings.

Of course other institutions of higher learning are far ahead of Harvard in this regard. In fact, there is one university in New York City that only has gender-neutral restrooms at this point

The Cooper Union, a small but prestigious art and engineering university in New York City, has taken the bold step of making every single bathroom on campus gender-neutral.

Instead of being classified as “men’s,” “women’s,” or single-occupancy restrooms, all facilities at the Cooper Union will carry descriptive signs describing exactly what lies within. Former men’s rooms, for instance, are now described as “urinals and stalls,” while former women’s rooms now carry the label “stalls only.” Regardless of their type, all bathrooms will be open to whomever wants to use them. According to Inside Higher Education, Cooper Union appears to be the first college in the country to entirely de-gender all of its bathroom facilities.

Unfortunately, when men and women start using the same bathrooms, really bad stuff can happen.

This is something that the University of Toronto found out the hard way

The administration at the University of Toronto was recently enlightened on why two separate washrooms are generally established for men and women sharing co-ed residencies.

The University is temporarily changing its policy on gender-neutral bathrooms after two separate incidents of “voyeurism” were reported on campus September 15 and 19. Male students within the University’s Whitney Hall student residence were caught holding their cellphones over female students’ shower stalls and filming them as they showered.

Anyone with half a brain could have figured this out.

If you allow young men into areas where young women are exposing themselves, some of those young men are going to try to look. We are a nation of voyeurs, and our young men have been trained by thousands of hours of television and movies to think of women as sex objects.

As I wrote about yesterday, it has been estimated that 68 percent of all Christian men watch pornography on a regular basis. Considering what our men are doing behind closed doors, do you really want them around when women are trying to shower or use the toilet?

I don’t mean to be crude, but this is the reality of the situation.

Sadly, the University of Toronto doesn’t seem to get the message. The rule change at that one residence hall is only “temporary”, and no changes have been made to the rules at other residence halls

The University concluded that while the changes were made in the specific residence hall of the voyeurism incidents, “there has been no change to the designation of gender-neutral washrooms in the other University College Residences or elsewhere on campus as a result of these incidents.”

I suppose that it is “politically incorrect” to think that there will be problems if young men and young women are using the same restrooms. The officials are the University of Toronto clearly believe in what they are doing, and they don’t plan to reverse course now.

But I would suggest that it is quite naive to put men and women in the same public bathrooms and just assume that everything will work out just fine somehow.

And we have seen problems start to happen in non-academic settings as well. Just consider what recently happened at a public swimming pool in the Seattle area

A man claimed a right to use a women’s locker room at a public swimming pool after his partial undressing there caused alarm.

According to Seattle Parks and Recreation, women alerted staff at Evans Pool staff when a man wearing swim trunks entered the women’s locker room and took off his shirt.

When staff told him to leave, the man reportedly said “the law has changed and I have a right to be here.”

Ultimately the man was not arrested, and he later returned to the women’s locker room while young girls were changing

No one was arrested in this case and police weren’t called, even though the man returned a second time while young girls were changing for swim practice.

What is going to stop other sickos like this from putting on a dress and demanding that they have every right to sit there and watch women change at public swimming pools all across the nation?

In the end, the only thing that will stop it is if laws are passed, but that is not going to be as easy as you may think. In fact, the state of North Carolina has created a massive national controversy because of the law that was just passed there…

In the face of travel bans from at least five states, 10 cities and two counties, North Carolina’s governor issued an executive order Tuesday that he said restores some protections to gays in the state.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s order, signed in the state capital of Raleigh, does not change North Carolina’s controversial law, which he signed March 24 and became effective immediately. It prohibits counties and municipalities from passing anti-discrimination ordinances and requires transgender people to use public bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender at birth.

As you can see, this is becoming a major political issue all over the nation.

Should what do you think the solution is?

Why only 15 percent of women say they save enough to retire

Retirement - Public Domain

Saving for retirement isn’t easy for anyone, what with wage growth slow and underemployment stubbornly high.

For women, it’s even harder.

According to a recent study by the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies, 62 percent of women said they were saving for retirement, but just 15 percent said they were saving enough; 22 percent were barely saving at all.

There are a number of reasons why women fall behind in saving for their post-career lives, ranging from lower pay to taking time off from the workforce.

STUDY: Men choose Internet porn over marriage for sex

Man In Bed - Photo from Flickr

“Traditionally, one of the reasons to enter into a marriage was sexual gratification. But as options for sexual gratification outside of marriage have grown, the need for a marriage to serve this function is diminishing,” said the report.

The report published by Germany’s Institute for the Study of Labor and co-authored by a West Chester University of Pennsylvania professor suggested that the government crack down on porn access, especially as more and easier tools to tap into the Internet, such as smartphones, expand. Saving marriage, said the report, will help the economy and society.

The study is being highlighted by the group Morality in Media, which sent it to Secrets Tuesday. “Pornography is a marriage killer and thus it has monumental negative ramifications for society’s future,” said Patrick A. Trueman, president of the group. “Research has shown for some time that porn use in marriage destroys the marital bond, but now we can see that porn use destroys even the desire to get married,” he added.

Increasing breastfeeding can save millions in health costs, research shows

Baby - Public Domain

Providing resources to allow breastfeeding mothers to keep breastfeeding longer could save millions a year in healthcare costs, according to a study recently published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood.

The researchers found that, in the United Kingdom alone, doubling the numbers of women who continue breastfeeding for between 7 and 18 months and increasing the number that continue for at least 4 months would reduce the incidence of disease in infants and their mothers enough to save the National Health Service more than £40 million ($62.9 million) per year.

Specifically, the savings would come from the reduced need to treat children for common childhood diseases that can be prevented by breastfeeding, and from lowered rates of breast cancer among the breastfeeding women themselves.

Wives Earn More Than Husbands In Almost 40 Percent Of U.S. Families

Wedding - Exchanging Rings - Public Domain

In one in three families in the U.S., or 38.1 percent, the wife is the primary breadwinner, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

In 2012, which is the latest data from the BLS, there were 36,181,000 married-couple families in which the wife, but not necessarily the husband, had earnings from work. Of those, there were 13,779,000 families in which the wife earned more than her husband. This means that 38.1 percent of families had wives earning more than their husbands.

The BLS has been tracking these data since 1987, and at that time in 23.7 percent of families, the wife was the primary earner. This means that since 1987 to the present, wives earning more than their husbands has increased by 60.8 percent.

17 Things About Men That Most Women Don’t Know

17 Things About Men That Most Women Don’t Know

Do you feel like you truly understand men? Much has been written about how men don’t understand women, but the truth is that there is a whole lot about men that women don’t understand as well. The point is not to spark a debate about “the battle of the sexes” or anything like that. Rather, it is important for all of us to understand that there is a tremendous amount of confusion about what it means “to be a man” in America today. So many of our young men seem lost, so many of our older men seem defeated and depressed, and all over this country families are completely falling apart. We need to understand our problems so that we can start focusing on solutions. Below, I have shared 17 things about men that most women don’t know. Some of them are funny, some of them are quite interesting and some of them are extremely serious. But all of them say something about where we are as a society today…

#1 When women age, they tend to become attracted to older men. For example, one study found that 20-year-old women are most attracted to 23-year-old men and 50-year-old women are most attracted to 46-year-old men. But the same is not true when we look at men. That same study found that 20-year-old men are most attracted to 20-year-old women and 50-year-old men are most attracted to 22-year-old women.

#2 Many men often put on a bold front, but inside they are not nearly as secure. At least that is what one survey found. When presented with the statement “I am not always as confident as I look”, 76 percent of men chose the response “I feel like this regularly/sometimes”.

#3 If you could look into their hearts, you would find that most men are not truly happy. In fact, one survey of 50-year-old men found that only 12 percent of them said that they were “very happy”.

#4 Many men still believe in traditional gender roles. For example, one survey found that 57 percent of men expect to always pay on a date. Alternatively, 20 percent believed that whoever initiated the date should pay, and 18 percent believed that date costs should be split.

#5 If women are wondering if it has become harder to find men that are in good shape, that is because it is true. According to the CDC, 34.6 percent of all men in America are obese at this point. But that doesn’t mean that men are tolerant of weight gain in women. Sadly, one survey discovered that 50 percent of men would dump their partner “if they gained a significant amount of weight”.

#6 Most single men realize that women consider financial security to be an extremely important factor in attractiveness. One recent survey found that “a steady job” is the number one thing that women are looking for in a husband, and another survey discovered that 75 percent of women would have a serious problem dating an unemployed man. As a result of these attitudes, many men measure their self-worth by the size of their paychecks.

#7 In recent years, the number of men that are struggling to find work has reached new heights. In fact, the inactivity rate for men in their prime working years (25 to 54) is now at the highest level that has ever been recorded.

#8 86 percent of men include “having children” in their definition of success. For women, that number is only 73 percent.

#9 Many men also wish that they could spend less time working and more time with their children. One poll found that 46 percent of fathers say that they don’t spend enough time with their kids.

#10 Men are really dropping behind women when it comes to college education. In 2013, 60 percent of all bachelor’s degrees were earned by women.

#11 Men are much more likely “not to leave the nest” than women. In 2012, an astounding 40 percent of all men in the 18 to 31-year-old age group still lived with their parents.

#12 There is a porn epidemic among men. This is true even among men that are supposed to be religious. One survey found that 64 percent of all Christian men ages 31 to 49 look at porn at least monthly.

#13 An astounding 30 percent of all Internet traffic currently goes to adult websites.

#14 There are more than 4 million adult websites on the Internet, and they get more traffic than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.

#15 Society has trained young men to avoid getting married, and this has resulted in an absolutely stunning decline in the marriage rate. Back in 1920, there were 92.3 marriages for every 1,000 unmarried women. In 2012, there were only 31.1 marriages for every 1,000 unmarried women.

#16 The average age at first marriage just keeps going up for men and for women. At this point, the average age when a man first gets married has reached an all-time high of 29.0 years.

#17 Women have always lived longer than men and that is still true today. Women have a life expectancy of 81.0 years and men have a life expectancy of just 76.2 years.

So what do you think about all of this?

‘We lost our jobs for reporting being raped’: Haunting photo essay depicts the suffering of women who were victims of sexual assaults in the U.S. military

woman silhouette - Public Domain

Pulitzer Prize-winning photo journalist Mary Calvert is revered for putting a spotlight on humanitarian issues that are ignored or that people are not aware of.

While her work – centered on women and children in crisis – has taken her all over the world, from the Democratic Republic of Congo to India, her latest assignment is much closer to home.

The former Washington Times photographer has compiled a photo essay that attempts to expose the widespread sexual harrassment of women in the American military that is going unreported.

Calvert says that an estimated 26,000 rapes and sexual assaults took place in the armed forces last year, however only one in seven victims reported their attacks.

12 Things That Men Do Differently Than Women

The following is an incredibly funny graphic that has gone viral all over the Internet.  You have got to check this out.  I do not know who the original author is, but I guarantee that it will make you smile…

12 Things Men Do Differently Than Women

Women are having fewer kids, and demographers don’t know why

Baby 2014

U.S. fertility is not recovering from the financial crisis — and demographers aren’t sure why.

The fertility rate fell to a record low 62.9 births per 1,000 women aged 15-44 in 2013, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.

The total number of births, at 3.96 million, inched up by a mere 4,000 from 2012, the first increase since the financial crisis. But the total fertility rate, or TFR, the average number of children a woman would have during her child-bearing years, fell to just 1.86, the lowest rate in 27 years. TFR is considered the best metric of fertility. A TFR of 2.1 represents a stable population, with children replacing parents as they die off.
